We have a huge guide of restaurants that John got in February. He had tapas in several places. If you don't get an answers from EBTA folks, let me know.

We are having dinner Wed night at Agua. Check it out!! I made ressies over the net and they promptly replied. http://www.grupotragaluz.com/rest-agua_en.php

Oh that looks great. I may have to consider this. I am going to check out the menu as my niece is a vegatarian. I love they have prices too. You are my kind of planner. I see you suffer from OCPD. Isn't is wonderful;)

I am sitting here at work and should probably do something. I just cannot get my thoughts out of Barcelona. I did manage to brief my staff, so that should count for something. It is lunch time now, so maybe I will spend my lunch hour surfing the web:surfweb: (like that is anything different from all morning).

Erik, again, MANY THANKS to you and Jason for the extensive amount of work that has gone into our exciting lanyards!!

TotallyAngelic Sarah, I'm very happy to know you're in with the scrapbooking exchange, so don't apologize!!

:idea:Anyone who is Barcelona on Thursday evening. Want to have a Dis meet at the Magic Fountains? party:

I was going to ask the very same thing!! I plan to go to the Magic Fountains on Thursday also. Anyone else from Praktik Ramblas planning to go on Thursday as well?

My only concern is food in Barcelona. We are hoping to go for Tapas on Thursday afternoon, but I cannot remember the cost from last time. Any EBRepo folks out there who may have some input, please share.
The tapas prices vary widely. It depends on what one orders, whether the tapas are pre-made (order by pointing) or you order from a menu and the items are made to order. It also often costs more to sit outside (we paid 10% more to sit outside on a square -- worth it).

One night we had tapas for dinner and sat outside at a slightly upscale place. The dishes ranged from 2.80E (croquetes pernil) to 7.80E (mini brocheta filet). Dishes were typically in the 4.65E to 4.95E range (ous estrellats, amanida de rucula, encenalls carxofes, rabes de calamar).

You could have a very nice meal of tapas and beverage for 20E. You could easily spend less at a more moderate place.

Good morning/afternoon/evening all!

I likely won't be around for a couple of days as I am leaving shortly to get my eyes lasered! :scared1: :cool2: :scared:

I hope I don't miss too much!

Wish me luck and see you on the other side of 20/20!

Carolynn

Carolynn,

Laser surgery was the best thing that ever happened to me! Even though I still need low RX glasses for night driving, being able to travel without worry about contacts, solution, eye drops, etc has been life changing. All my best for a speedy and 100% recovery.

:idea:Anyone who is Barcelona on Thursday evening. Want to have a Dis meet at the Magic Fountains? party:

I have mapped out the walking routes and the metro route from Le Meridian and Praktik Rambla (just for starters).

You must have read my mind!! DH and I were just talking about that this morning. Please send me a link to your maps!!!

I meant to apologize to TotallyAngelic Sarah for not counting you in the scrapbook exchange. You are in now and we are so happy!!:cool1: It will be a fun exchange. I am CLOSING THE SCRAPBOOK EXCHANGE on the 16th of July because some of us said that we really needed to know ahead of time to get started on their project. If you would like to be counted in, please PM me. Right now there are 12 people on the list so everybody would have to make an embellishment for 11. I will get the full list to everyone by August if the cabin numbers have been assigned.

By the way, I did have a cabin on my cruise about 5 years ago and they took down the number. About one month later, I logged back on and noticed that I was upgraded so don't be discouraged - you never know.:)

Kimberly

We are staying at the Praktik Ramblas and would love to join you on Thursday night for the Magic Fountains.

Jason swears by his laser surgery, too. He was not able to wear contacts (can't stand the feeling) so he was always wearing glasses until he had his surgery about 6 years ago....and he's been so happy with his results!!

A couple more tasks completed....requested a 90 supply of Dennis' meds so we will be sure to have enough to last thru our FL stay. I also have ordered the electric converter so that he can use his CPAP in Barcelona. Bit by bit getting it done. :cool1:

Second on the Villains Night:
There were not a lot of people who did this, but it was encouraged. Later in the evening, after dinner times & shows, there was a Villian's Ball held in the Atrium. It will probably take a while to catch on more, but I thought it was a cool addition.

If enough of us participate, maybe the word will get around.

Also if someone doesn't mind carrying a few spare navigators for the B2B people please let me know so I can make a note in the navigator as well as telling those who have said they would like a copy once onboard. I am paranoid Ill forget them so think if there's at least 2 of us with spares it will be good.

And finally - anyone know the port address for Barcelona?

So those of us on the B2B will not be getting our navigators until the WBTA starts?

This is the address DCL gave me for my debarkation info from the B2B as to where we will be after the Med portion:

Portal de la Pau #6
Barcelona, Spain 08039

Don't know if it's an actual mailing address or just a location address.

I would rather be doing that.

Where did you order that from. There are four of us who use CPAP. Some need it more than others.

Okay...I know I have several updates for the Inbound Barcelona and Accommodations Lists to update and publish, so be on the lookout for that in the next 24-48 hours. (Hint, hint, nudge, nudge if you have yet to pass along details that you want included. Please PM me with it so it doesn't get lost in the sea of posts.) :)

Oh good!!! We should arrange a time to meet on the Terrace and head there together! Any others want to hop on board with us?

Good for you!!! Every bit does indeed make you feel better!

Are folks talking about dressing up in villain costumes? or just doing the masquerade part like making/buying/bringing masks?

Does anyone know....is Villains night a formal night? (I might have missed that answer somewhere else.)

I am giving serious thought to making Villain themed vests for Jason and I if it's a formal night....and then maybe making and bringing some fancy masquerade masks for us, as well....but I doubt we can bring costumes...there's just not enough room in our bags!! :lmao:

I'm for doing the dressing up thing, but the masquerade part sounds good, too.

Maybe we can meet in the middle and go together. Do you want to walk to ride the metro? The walk is about a 30 minute walk and pretty scenic.

No you will be getting it before then but incase there are any room changes in the last few weeks. I'm hoping to have them out by the 18th August. Is that OK for B2B's????

Oh and thanks for the address

Were doing masques for def!

Have finally remember what I forgot yesterday...

Thanks to Krisanne for pushing me to digital scrapbooking!! I have most of my book set - sitting at 60 pages so I hope to just drag and drop photos, add some text and be done! I started at suitcases at the door and pictures of the limo, moved to getting the kids picked up to the airport, meeting fellow DIS folks, the plane... You get the picture... Fun to set up! Almost had me pulling out other books to be done... (um, no)

For anyone curious... I had the software, so I am not including that in the cost, but I took the bill from the last DCL book I did (which is 21 pages) and added in the cost of printing photos and I was astonished! All the little things add up - abd those books are still sitting and waiting on me to budget time to them... Well, I checked the cost of printing the digital book, and compared that to the cost of a book, extra pages, page covers, papers, stickers, other embelishments, etc. and I gotta tell ya, I am a bit in shock - BUT to have it completely done it is well worth the price!! (I my even go to a personalized cover - cause how cool is that!! :thumbsup2

I think this all depends on whether we are just using 1 board for room changes or we need a board for other things but thanks for volunteering. Sue were you going to have the board for changes?

I will have a master copy of the swap list with all the cabin numbers, and space to put a new cabin number. I also have packed up my Disney dry erase board!! (Oh - and printed copies of the master swap list as well...

...anyone know the port address for Barcelona?

I am sending some magnets ahead of time so the door will be done for them. One of the magnets tells the kids about the cabin upgrade... :cool1:

I have to share my cases?????:lmao:

I found it very hard after the '08 WBPC. We had chatted for so long, and some fellow cruisers were able to just move on and never go on the thread again, but some of us were almost depressed. I think a lot depends on our individual nature. It really took me a long long time not to well up when I thought about it all and it being all over. Many of us just wanted it to happen again, and be just the same(though better because we had had a practice run;)), but that will never happen.

Getting to know new cruise friends is a great though!!!:dance3:

Share doesn't have to be a fair division - one sock of his to a case full of your items... :rotfl2:

I am worried about DIS and DCL withdrawl! I have found that I get very attached to our temporary home and that I well up when leaving... I did pretty good last year because we had a new cruise booked!!

Yep, Sue AKA Momma Bear, is organising cabin changes :thumbsup2

Have to laugh at the "Momma Bear" nickname as that is what my staff calls me because I look out for them... Heck, even my old team is still using that name...

You expressed my thoughts as well. The 2008 WBPC may have been a unique experience but I think this cruise is shaping up to be a really interesting one. Each cruise needs to be a little different. We share making new memories with new and old friends. An added plus is that we get to plan new adventures for another day. Isn't life grand!!

I agree, this seems like a great trip and group!!
:idea:Anyone who is Barcelona on Thursday evening. Want to have a Dis meet at the Magic Fountains? party:

We may be interested! Depends on how the kiddos hold up through the day.

Funny, I am sitting here at work and I have a system down and I can't seem to focus on it... There is something rather appealing about Barcleona isn't there? :goodvibes
