It's not near as elegant as what you ordered, but I think it's very flattering on me and won't take up as much packing room as the one I fell in love with on eBay. The one I ended up ordering is black and white and includes a stole. It's not as glitzy as I wanted, but with some clever ideas my mom came up with for the stole to take advantage of the two-tone, adding the tiara, and some bling with jewelry, it's going to look nice. Even the bridal consultant was impressed with the look we pulled together. It's expected in about 4-5 weeks.

I like that gown. I wish I could wear strapless or short sleeves.

I made a mistake, the Australian magpie is the butcher bird family, European is the crow family - completely different family and genus. We have major issues here in spring when many people are actively attacked to the point of bleeding.

They measure about the same length but the European magpie is about 50% tail so in terms of body mass the Australian one is much larger.

The picture is of a male white backed, we typically have the white backed here in NZ.

Hi everyone.....just popping in to let you know that my DD and the rest of the mission team just landed in Samara, Russia after 26+ hours of traveling. They had a couple delayed flights which added to the long travel time. It is 5:30am there right now. I hope that they have been able to sleep and can get a little rest today before they start their work with the children at the camp. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. They will return home on July 16.

Glad they arrived safely Pam. They will have such a wonderful adventure! My dd was due to visit Russia with her college a couple of years back on an International programme, but at the last minute they were denied Visas The kids were all very disappointed!

Hope they manage to get some reast, will keep them all in my thoughts

We are in for a long hot spell for the next week so I can't think of a better way of fighting the heat than by wandering through an air conditioned mall.

I bought some caramel rice cakes a while back to stop me wanting chocolate needless to say the rice cakes are still in the cupboard and I have managed to eat cakes instead!

Sorry to go back to Spanx!!! Those of you who have worn them, particularly the high waisted or up to under bust ones, do they make you all hot and glowing(? I usually get a little overheated after my shower anyway, and my dress is, as is usually the case for eveningy clothes, or at least the lining anyway, polyester type material. I rather think I am going to need some, though waist high might do if they don't cut in too much, if you know what I mean.

That was what I was worried about. I am usually all of a lather anyway when i am getting ready. Need to look at plan B and C and perhaps D!!! I'm ok when i am standing, but not sitting down if you know what I mean. Perhaps only a few ladies might understand.

I have 2 different Spanx...They are miracle workers...but I feel like a sausage...going potty is nearly impossible in the one...and yes the make me hot..but I'm at that age!!!

Need some opinions:

We will get to Barcelona at 9 am - figure we will have luggage and be finished by 10 but we wil have been up since 4 am to catch our flight from Amsterdam (have to be there 2 hours early)

so question is do we:

a. rent a private transportation and have them do a 2 hour (10 - 12) tour of Barcelona and then take us to the port at 12 pm OR

b. go straight to the port

even though we were in barcelona on the EBTA we did not go into barcelona at all - long story - all we saw of it was from the ship and from the bus to the airport. Don't really want to tour anything in particular - but might like to just take a tour of the city - does that make sense?

I would do the tour! Last time the terminal was way too hot and crowded to stay in all day and this way you get to see how pretty Barcelona is.

Krisann - thanks for the scaryimage regarding clothes on the plane. If it comes down to that, just shoot me because I will probably be better off. I am sure a lot of my "scared to fly" friends would agree.

I think it was Hayley from Australia that said she would also have some Aussie mags. I could be wrong - we were excited that we could swap because she didn't get any of mine.

We do not have a time yet for our Topsiders dinner. We might just wait and see what the show is and decide to do it later or earlier, but if anybody else wants to chime in - go ahead
