With respect to health issues, I didn't tell my DD's story to scare anyone, only to warn you that they didn't seem to take my DD's health concerns very seriously. I was expecting them to be more through and was very disappointed when DCL did not seem to be concerned with a serious misdiagnosis. If you have any concerns before you sail, you should review them with your own physician and get their recommendation.
If we would have thought at the onset that DD's sore leg was anything even slightly more serious, we would have had her seen before we left. She had been over exercising so all of us (including her) thought is was sore muscles.
When the pain persisted even though she was resting, I think they might have recommended we see a physician before we flew home. I specifically asked them that question and was told, no need, just get plenty of rest. Only an over zealous Mom like me insisted she see a Doctor which resulted in her hospitalization.
Just my thoughts.....
I, for one, am glad you posted. Everything else is usually top notch and I would rather be informed so that I can take precautions than assume that DCL would be prepared. At least now I know that if something happens, it can be serious. For all I know, I might have waited, if something goes wrong and it might be too late. On our first visit to FL, my oldest DD (about 12) at the time, got so dehyrated after 1 week there, that upon entering Universal, she got sick but I didn't notice. 1 hr after getting in, we ended up in their clinic and were in there for 3 hrs. They finally recommended we go back to our hotel room and hyrdate her. I had no clue. We live in SoCal and she plays sports nothing like this had EVER happened to her. I felt bad but really, I didn't realize how bad she was until after the fact.
Also, we have been on board when there have been medical emergencies and other more drastic events. I guess I need to pay more attn to that and realize there's a reason they call for back-up. I must never forget CC and first PC cruise.

Noel - I am glad you said something - we all need to know especially since we all seem to have some type of health issue, and I say that with the utmost love and smiles. Scary or not, it is good to know since we will be smack dab in the middle of the ocean for 5 days!!!
Glad you were a persistent mother. I would have done the samre thing!
I second that.

Howdy everyone,
Figured Id better check in. Ive been reading this board for a while now. I have been informed, educated and entertained about the WBTA by you intrepid Disney cruisers, thanks.
We have felt the Magic twice before. Our DDIL and DS (HallsofVA) shanghaied us onto a Magical Western Caribbean cruise on 12/3/05. Then we joined them for a Magical Eastern Caribbean on 12/6/08.
Ahhh, one more time into the breach me lads and lassies. It will be exciting to cross the pond again at least this time it wont be haze gray and underway. We had a DIS board presence before but it was so close to my DDILs that decided to create a new one to quell confusion.
DW Mona and I are looking forward to meeting yall and experiencing the MAGIC once again.
John (aka Commodore Jack)

Thanks, will do; however, I am being called away rite now. Must go, bye.
