You won't be alone, I'll be there as well.

Jon

ladies - maybe we should sit out on deck and let the men do the laundry??

No. Americans traveling to Spain for up to 90 days as tourists do not require a visa.

Thanks! Are there any requirements other than passport that we need to worry about? I don't think we are heading anywhere that requires hepatitis shots or anything... But would rather find out now versus later...

...Congrats! on the 25 years! My DH and I celebrate 17 years on July 24th! I think we will have lots of fun couples to play Match Your Mate!!! That is always good for a laugh.

Glenn and I are celebrating 18 years on 9/19.

My wonderful daughter stood in line for 5 hours to get ours. I sat on a bench in the mall and when she got to the front of the queue, I hobbled over and walked in with her. My phone was up and running in 20 minutes. Hers she had to wait for the ATT rep at the Apple Store to fix. And it is dropping calls like crazy. Poor baby. But we love the phones. :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

I think she is going to take her laptop and phone back to the Apple Store today. Her itunes still won't sync and like I said, it is dropping almost every call she makes.

Is she left handed? There is a way that one holds the phone that is causing the antenease to not work. It is more prevalent with lefties...

Hi All!...
My DW and I celebrated our 30th anniversary with a cruise on the Magic January 17th, 2009. Following the cruise, there was a lot of moping on the boards from those of us on that cruise, it was so great - yet we found that there were a lot of us from the 1/17/09 cruise who had also booked for the WBTA, so I'm curious: How many of you were also on that cruise? Here's a partial list of folks that had booked:

fltink
Futurist
mmouse37
4Goofy4Dis
RCostello1
Sparky47
Maxs GM
Ibouncetoo
Narnian_Princess

And to the rest of you who weren't there, we will look forward to meeting you all on board.

Finally, to all you pirates, princesses, and fun-sized folks and soon to be shipmates:

TAKE WHAT YOU CAN!!! pirate:
Richard

GIVE NOTHING BACK!

Welcome aboard! Be sure to check out the website (www.transatlanticpirates.com), sign up for rollcall and send in a photo (photos@transatlanticpirates.com)!

Well, this afternoon I've been working on the romance cards to go with my :fish: FE gifts :fish:. I can't decide on which of the four I came up with I like best, so I'm using them all which spices up the variety ever so slightly.

So DEE, know I'm keeping my word by working on these! (We've been trying to encourage one another to get moving on this project.)

Howdy everyone,
Figured I’d better check in. I’ve been reading this board for a while now. I have been informed, educated and entertained about the WBTA by you intrepid Disney cruisers, thanks.....

....DW Mona and I are looking forward to meeting y’all and experiencing the MAGIC once again.
John (aka Commodore Jack)

Hello, John! So great to see you chiming in!! I'm impressed that you already have your ticker made and showing proudly in your signature block! I love your tag line, too!

We'll be spending quite a bit of time together as we're on the same flight and taking the private tour of Barcelona together on Thursday! You seem to be a man who enjoys a good time, which as you know, we all like to do here!!

....This (blood clots) should remind us all to keep those legs moving and drink plenty of water on our flights, especially the long TA flights....

...and take aspirin the day before and the day of your flight so your blood is thinner. Alcohol does that, too.....just saying.... :rotfl2:

Glenn and I are celebrating 18 years on 9/19.
[/QUOTE]

We'll also have an anniversary (10/1) on this cruise--33 years! I was a child bride... :lovestruc

It will also be my husband Greg's 55th Birthday on 9/20.

And "hi" to all our Virginia neighbors!

Andrea

Welcome to Sea Rogues!

A few notes from our Baltic cruise.
We could only book a Palo dinner online but got brunch and afternoon tea when we boarded. I think we`ll just go for brunch next time.
Villains party - only saw one person dressed up.
I won`t stress about clothing for our WBTA. I bought a hoodie the first evening and lived in that. I did make an effort for dinner but I`ll take alot less in September. People looked smart but not overly dressed up on formal night.
Me and DD were thrilled to learn from Captain John that he lives 20 minutes away from us. IASWAA!

The only sad thing about our cruise was the big red faced women, wearing a daft expression who took my place in all the photo`s. Where did she come from?

This board is totally addictive!! I don't even know you guys and your a bad influence on me! See this :surfweb: this is me this morning when I should be doing laundry, cutting grass, cleaning house, oh and I guess spending time with my family :rolleyes1. I'm just afraid I'm going to miss something if I don't check frequently.

I know, my DH thinks I have let my whole life slide for DIS, I'll having to start coming on in secret, :rotfl:

I can't wait to see some of the pins that others have! I lost my lanyard and most of my favorite pins last year - we think left on board or at AK Lodge last year, but lost and found never found... So, I will be on the look out for neat pins!
Not old, settled... My kids want to wait and see the movie onboard. I wouldn't mind seeing it, but I will wait and see it with them...

I think Con and Noel were talking about having our own pins made, that would be very cool!
I like that, settled, I will have to use that :thumbsup2

Thanks for the words of encouragement! I've decided I'm going to go to a bridal store next week and see if they have anything similar to it to get an idea of how a princess style will look on me before I make the leap, then worry about the arms!
Good idea, but seriously, don't worry about the arm thing, as somebody else said life is too short!:goodvibes

Twenty! Are you crazy girl?! I would give up!!

I do remember the 2007 EBTA thread going crazy. I was so excited for all of you that I would read the Meets thread from time-to-time. I also recall thinking to myself that when it goes that fast, it's got to push people out of the thread because they wouldn't be able to keep up with conversation. I was SO enjoying my own Meets Thread that that thought of not bonding with people like I was on my own Meets Thread made me sad! For those of you who were a part of the '07 EBTA thread, did you ever feel that way or hear of others who just had to give up?
Good point, we all have a hard time keeping up now, if we speed up we'll never keep up! ;)

Doctor on board is pretty useless. DD had terrible pain in her leg. He said just rest, it must be sprain. Turned out she had a blood clot in her leg that by continuing to walk traveled into her lungs. When we got off the ship, she ended up first in emergency, then in the hospital for a week in Florida.

When we queried DCL about this, they were very unconcerned. Never did get an apology or any real reason why they did not take her pain seriously.

Wow, that is super scary. I suppose they get some people that do complain often when there is nothing wrong. Quite clearly your daughter was NOT one of those people and genuinely needed some medical attention. Good on you Mom for making sure she went to the Dr! :thumbsup2
I am one of those people who won't go to the Dr until my arm falls off, I really don't like Dr's. :upsidedow

John and I celebrate our 25th anniversary on July 4.

Congratulations. My DH and I have been married for 11 tears and I hope we will be celebrating out 25th and 40th anniversary's on DCL cruises. :goodvibes

DOn't wait too long - I waited a whole year thinking I could take care of it myself. Last attack was so severe I begged the doc to let me die. I'd rather give birth naturally to 8 kids than one attack. I recovered fairly easy but need to stay away from raw onions and lots of peanuts (which I don't like) but almonds are my favorite and funny thing is now I can eat them w/o any problems. Wish you luck in whatever decision you decide to do. But really don't let it get too dangerous.

Thanks Laura, I actually have tumours/polyps, no gallstones, So there is a very tiny risk of one of them detaching and causing an emergency. I am slowly resigning myself to the fact that is has to come out. All the positive stories from my Dis'er friends is making it a little less scary. Thanks! :flower3:
Funny, I can't eat raw onions or nuts either. :confused3

DW Mona and I are looking forward to meeting y’all and experiencing the MAGIC once again.

I think she is going to take her laptop and phone back to the Apple Store today. Her itunes still won't sync and like I said, it is dropping almost every call she makes.
Sometimes you just get a Lemon, My DH had a lemon and they replaced it with a new phone. Good Luck to your DD. ;)

ladies - maybe we should sit out on deck and let the men do the laundry??
]
Great idea, One problem, my whites would come out pink or grey, and my blacks would come out with white towel lint all over them. :lmao:

We are spending 3 nights at the Disneyland Hotel before heading to Barcelona---and I can't wait to see the park--and Paris too:)

I'm Sure you'll have such a great time, and a magical way to start your trip

I don't know what it's like in the rest of the UK today bit here in Reading it's HOT!!!:woohoo:

I can confirm it's super hot here too ;) in fact i think it's even hotter on this side of town :rotfl:

We went there after the EBTA and had a great time - only one regret - did not buy a Chip and Dale pin for my daughter - in Paris they are called Tic and Tac and had meant to buy a pin with "Tic and Tac" words on it - people think we are crazy when we tell them this!
Krisann

If you decided you simply can't live without one! feel free to PM me and i can pick you one up when i'm there in a couple of weeks, i can bring it on the cruise and you can give me the cash.

That sounds very fun! Jason and i will definitely be bringing some games, too. The only Disney themed game we have is Disney Uno, though (we bought it on the ship during the Double Dip in 2008). We'll be bringing Bananagrams, travel boggle, taboo, buzz word for sure....we also have party games like scattegories, cranium, etc. and a few fun card games like Blink, Ziggity, Qwitch, Bandits, etc.

Oh i'm hoping to crash your games session too.... Me and ab's LOVE games... and i'm not the least bit competative

SW

All this talk of shopping makes me wonder how i'm going to manage on the cruise.

I love shopping!!!

What on earth do you do when we're at sea for 5 days and there's just a couple of shops to look round, do they swap any of the merchandise out to make you want to revisit, or is it the same every day??

SW

Hi, just wanted to say, they dresses are so good looking only you would be focusing on you "so called " flabby arms, my ams are very flabby (post huge wt loss) although I notice it, I am sure nobody else looks at my arms and also in my pics you def dont notice, go for it, you only live once, dont worry about arms.

Can you post that link again. I could not find it in the previous posts

Howdy everyone,
Figured I’d better check in. I’ve been reading this board for a while now. I have been informed, educated and entertained about the WBTA by you intrepid Disney cruisers, thanks.

We have felt the Magic twice before. Our DDIL and DS (HallsofVA) shanghaied us onto a Magical Western Caribbean cruise on 12/3/05. Then we joined them for a Magical Eastern Caribbean on 12/6/08.

Ahhh, one more time into the breach me lads and lassies. It will be exciting to cross the pond again at least this time it won’t be haze gray and underway. We had a DIS board presence before but it was so close to my DDIL’s that decided to create a new one to quell confusion.

DW Mona and I are looking forward to meeting y’all and experiencing the MAGIC once again.
John (aka Commodore Jack)

Welcome neighbor.

Hi All!
My DW and I celebrated our 30th anniversary with a cruise on the Magic Eastern Caribbean, January 17th, 2009. Following the cruise, there was a lot of moping on the boards from those of us on that cruise, it was so great - yet we found that there were a lot of us from the 1/17/09 cruise who had also booked for the WBTA, so I'm curious: How many of you were also on that cruise? I haven't seen many of these names on this set of boards. Are any of you still here and still planning to be on board?

Richard

Welcome I only know about "Ibouncetoo" She cancelled (or as I like to say she bailed on me) and did the EBRepo.

Glenn and I are celebrating 18 years on 9/19.

We'll also have an anniversary (10/1) on this cruise--33 years! I was a child bride... :lovestruc

Thanks very much! One less thing to worry about. (You might be interested to know my DH was actively in the Marines from mid-60s to early 70s. And we'll be attending his reunion dinner this Tuesday at the Marine Corps Museum near Quantico.)

What unit was he with? I just got back to Stafford from my trip to Camp Lejeune, NC and Chicago. I work at Quantico when I'm not traveling. I assume it's a private after hours dinner, since the National Museum of the Marine Corps normally closes at 5.

Thanks! Are there any requirements other than passport that we need to worry about? I don't think we are heading anywhere that requires hepatitis shots or anything... But would rather find out now versus later...

These are the Center for Disease Control recommendations for Spain, Gibraltar, Madeira, St. Maarten, Tortola, and The Bahamas:

Vaccination or Disease Recommendations or Requirements for Vaccine-Preventable Diseases:

Routine Recommended if you are not up-to-date with routine shots such as, measles/mumps/rubella (MMR) vaccine, diphtheria/pertussis/tetanus (DPT) vaccine, poliovirus vaccine, etc.

Hepatitis B Recommended for all unvaccinated persons who might be exposed to blood or body fluids, have sexual contact with the local population, or be exposed through medical treatment, such as for an accident, even in developed countries, and for all adults requesting protection from HBV infection.

These are additional recommendations for St. Maarten, Tortola, and The Bahamas:

Hepatitis A or immune globulin (IG) Recommended for all unvaccinated people traveling to or working in countries with an intermediate or high level of hepatitis A virus infection where exposure might occur through food or water. Cases of travel-related hepatitis A can also occur in travelers to developing countries with "standard" tourist itineraries, accommodations, and food consumption behaviors.

Typhoid Recommended for all unvaccinated people traveling to or working in the Caribbean, especially if staying with friends or relatives or visiting smaller cities, villages, or rural areas where exposure might occur through food or water.

Bottom line, in my opinion, is that for the areas and time that we'll be visiting each of these, you'll be fine as long as your normal vaccinations are up to date.

We just got back from a short trip to Disneyland. Used our Give a Day coupon and went for one long day at Disneyland on June 23. The rest of the week was , Downtown Disney, two days of travel each way :drive: and visiting relatives.

Catching up on a weeks worth of posts. :surfweb:

More details later. :)

Since quite a few of you are posting how long you have been married, I thought I would share some news that I don't believe I have shared before. Joi and I got legally married in Washington DC on March 14 of this year with our grown children and our daughter-in-law as well as all of my family and a lot of friends in attendence. On March 15 we celebrated 23 years together. We would have had the ceremony on March 15, but it was too hard to get everyone there on a Monday. We are using this cruise as our belated honeymoon, if you can call it that afer 23 years.

Congrats!!!!:cheer2:

Im not sure if I would want all my kids and grandkids together at one time:scared1: That makes 26 of us now!!! You tend to forget the right name with the right person:lmao:

A honeymoon is a honeymoon, personally...the later the better, you can relax more and enjoy each other.

Annie:laundy:

Ok so now a skivvy is a top, a servant and lackies are like skivvy is to servants or a in the UK a derogatory way of referring to someone. Ask me if I am confused.:confused3

I assume then both muck means and faff means procrastinating or fiddling around, am I correct? The only way I have heard that other than referring to cleaning out a horse stall is the expression "Where the is muck, there is Brass". I understand that to meet if there is a dirty job, there is money to be made.

See you got it... except if you keep reading, I'm probably about to make it more complicated :rotfl:

Language is fun stuff. I get most of my understanding of British terms from reading. I remember reading about a boy wearing a jumper (sweater on the east side of the pond) and it really puzzled me for a while  . It will be great getting to talk w/DISsers from around the world.

Wanted to mention for those of you who like the Fit Flop type of shoe, WDW has them in a Mickey version. Yeah, I want a pair, too.

Here in New Zealand, we call sweaters/jumpers - "Jerseys" - like the cow. Except, I to be difficult call them Jumpers as being an English immigrant, some words like that, I have retained.

I also call Flip Flops, flip flops ... why is that odd? Because in New Zealand they are called "Jandals". Australian's call them "thongs" - like the underwear...

And we all speak the same language except we use totally different words...

Do you have any pirates of the caribbean pins to trade ... if so I will be stalking you around the ship pirate:

No, don't think so - I do have some pirate pins - pirate donald, mickey etc - I'd be happy to send you (or anyone else) photos of what I have or post pics here if someone wants to "bags" one to trade?

ok IGNORE ME! all sorted now......ESTA forms, API forms, DCL online forms.....check!:cool1:

What is an API form?

Thanks! Are there any requirements other than passport that we need to worry about? I don't think we are heading anywhere that requires hepatitis shots or anything... But would rather find out now versus later...

I don't believe there is anything specific required but I am very vigilant in ensuring all my vaccinations stay up to date including Hep A which many over look thinking that if they aren't going overseas that they aren't at risk.

We have had a couple of instances here in the last few years where a restaurant staff member had it and could have unknowingly passed it onto customers... why take the risk? One vaccine and a booster and you should be protected for life.

Of course many don't like vaccinations for personal reasons but I'd rather avoid whatevers going around.

Our travel clinic also recommends a flu shot when doing cruises too (lots of people in a confined space).

The only sad thing about our cruise was the big red faced women, wearing a daft expression who took my place in all the photo`s. Where did she come from?

I know just who you mean, she's in all my photos of me as well! ;)

We'll be spending quite a bit of time together as we're on the same flight and taking the private tour of Barcelona together on Thursday! You seem to be a man who enjoys a good time, which as you know, we all like to do here!!

Who is organizing the private tour of Barcelona on Thursday? Where is it leaving from and where is it going to?

Thanks!

Toy Story 3 was great, if you have not seen it I highly recommend it.
