We requested rotation 2. Fits part of what we want, but not all of it. I am not a fan of Parrot Cay - except for Pirate night - and I like Lumiere's for formal night... I also wanted to do Theme night at Animators... So, for us, 2 was it... Yikes - Hayley - I hope this is OK!!! Forgot to ask you guys!! (Sorry - we can change the request...)

OK - so we totally changed our minds... Autumn is going to think I am batty... We have changed to rotation1. That puts in Parrott for the first formal night, Lumieres for Theme and semi formal and Annimators for the second formal. Most important, we will be in Parrott for PIRATE night... Gets us most of what we want...

Now I have to sit back and not stress, believe in the Mouse - I wil get the rotation I want... I will get the rotation I want...

(Hello, my name is Sue and I am a DISboard and DISney addict...)

I live about 40 minutes from Hershey. My hubby grew up on Hershey. He has admitted that recently they have made changes and it does not taste like it did years ago:lmao: I have to agree with him. It tastes different.

I can even remember touring the real plant and at the end getting a free bag of kisses. This was way back in 1969!!! :lmao:

I remember when the included walking throught the factory and seeing the huge vats of chocolate being mixed back and forth. They had a 10lb candy bar for sale for 10.00 and we thought that was a lot of money.

Here is a link from the HS my kids attended where you may hear their Madrigals choir. If you scroll down a bit more to the Wow link you can also hear some instrumentals:

Very nice! Some great voices.

Thank you. We felt very fortunate to have the kids go to that school. No more than 10 in a classroom. Only 60 in the graduating class, so you knew everyone.

I used to have a client, Sheetz, that holds a manager/vendor conference in Hershey annually. It was fun to go to. I always brought back the big bar for the office, and a bunch of stuff for the kids and me... The spa stuff rocks!

I haven't been in 2 years, and miss it. but I really miss the Sheetz stores more... For those in the PA area - you may understand... Shmiscuits for beakfast, stuffed pretzlez and meatball subz... Yum... Doesn't hold a candle to the Magic, but very yummy indeed! (For those not in the PA area, check them out on the web... sheetz.com... They are a gas station and a restaurant all in one...

Now have to go to Chocolate world and you are lucking to get 2 pieces of candy the size of Hershey kisses

Since some of you are just getting back to your DIS addiction this week, here's one of the things we've been chatting about in the last week or so.

Todd is going to include the following to Post #1 so any newbies or those of you who are going to wait to make your MMC t-shirt purchase until later will have an easily accessible reference.

~~~~~~
Matching Mickey Mouse Club T-Shirts
On a casual dining evening (date yet to be determined), we are planning our own Mickey Mouse Club Night to make us very disguisable to other Magic guests and to one another! It’s also another great photo opportunity! So if you would like to participate, you can purchase your t-shirt(s) at either www.DisneyStore.com or Zazzle.com.
There are variations of t-shirt styles that you can purchase (especially at Zazzle) for the whole family in a wide range of sizes. So choose your favorite style and don’t forget to personalize it with your name on the back in a LARGE font. Some DISers are choosing Impress as their font of choice, but feel free to use whatever you like best!
On a final note, pack your Ears if you have them to go with your MMC shirt!
Note that Zazzle DOES ship internationally, where DisneyStore does not.
  • DisneyStore.com:
    Savings Opportunities for DisneyStore.com:
    • Free shipping of entire order with purchase of adult clothing or accessories.
      PROMO CODE: KIDatHEART; expires June 8
    • $5 shipping on orders of $89 or more.
      PROMO CODE: SHIPTODAY; expires June 20
    • Utilize rebate site MrRebates.com to get a 5% rebate return on your DisneyStore purchase. Just note that you have to go to the rebate site first and then link to DisneyStore.com directly from their site in order to get the credit.
    • MrRebates.com tells you what coupon codes are current for the merchant.
  • Zazzle.com:
    One point to mention is that on Zazzle's site, they have two circular-looking graphic versions of the Mickey Mouse Club t-shirt. One looks like the one Todd posted, which is identical to the one on Disney's site, and Zazzle also has a second, a less dazzling one, that does not have the "Member" and "1956" reference. The screenprint is also different in color. So please make sure you select the correct one.
    Savings Opportunities for Zazzle.com:
    • 10% off T-Shirts
      PROMO CODE: TSHIRTS10OFF; expiration unknown
    • Utilize rebate site MrRebates.com to get a 13% rebate return on your Zazzle purchase. Just note that you have to go to the rebate site first and then link to Zazzle.com directly from their site in order to get the credit.
    • MrRebates.com lists what coupon codes are current with Zazzle.
Whew! It's about time we see a consensus! Thanks to all who have dug to get the scoop!
Glad you both feeling better from the sunburn!
I LOVE them all, especially the blue ones!! You are indeed a young, hip Omi!!
A whole bag?!! Wow! Last time I was there, you got one Kiss that was handed to you. What I loved best was getting Twizzlers at the gift shop there. I swear they were truly the freshest I've ever eaten! They were SOOO soft!
My mouth dropped and heart skipped a beat when I read $950! :scared1::scared1: Thank goodness you're not going to pay that bill!
Mickey Mouse shirts have been added to post 1
Got to love Sheetz. I love what they are doing now. In PA alcohol can only be sold at a state store, beer distributor, or restaurants can sell 6 packs of beer. A few grocery stores are putting in small cafes and sitting area to set to get the 6 pack licenses to sell beer. Well Sheetz sell food and has sitting area but the won't give they licenses. So the created http://www.freemybeer.com Hopfully soon I can get a Shmagel and a beer.
Just a heads up for those who aren't doing the dining plan and not necessarily eating at all Disney restaurants while staying at WDW (I know, oh, the horror of it all!)
Restaurant.com has some restaurants from the Swan and Dolphin as part of their program now. I made reservations last week for Shula's (heard it was great and we didn't have a tasty experience at Yachtsman last year) and today I saw that Shula's along with bluezoo and Il Mulino have $25 certificates for $10 each (there's another one but I don't remember the name right now). Add the coupon SAVE when checking out and that $10 becomes $2! Yup, an 80% savings on the cert! Hope someone else can use it!
it's unfortunate for our european friends, but the current euro exchange rate is very good for some of us. With that said, i contacted praktik rambla today to find out if we can pre-pay for our reservations now while the exchange rate looks so good. Here was their response:
from: Reservas hotel praktik rambla <reservas@hotelpraktikrambla.com>
subject: Re: Formulario de contacto hotelpraktikrambla.com
dear madame,
if you wish to pay in advance, there's no problem. We only need a credit
card number and the expiry date.
For when is your reservation?
Kind regards,
I just called Praktik Rambla to make my payment because frankly I don't want my credit card number to go across in an email. (BTW, if you didn't know, Capital One does not charge an exchange rate transaction fee.) The nice gentleman who answered said he spoke some English. However, he wasn't understanding that I want to make my payment now. He kept saying "You can pay when you arrive." So, I'll try again after I know he's likely off his shift. :) I just thought now is a good time because it's early morning hours there, thus they should be bored! Since I speak no Spanish or Catalan outside of my greeting to him of "Hola!", I can't fault the guy. He tried! More than I could do in reciprocation.
Has anyone else tried calling yet?
OK - one last time... Just in from Autumn... :) At least there is consensus now... Rotations are also listed below! Happy planning!! :yay::yay:
Sue
Hi Sue,
I truly apologize for the conflicting information. I have confirmed once again with Dining the information provided below:
Formal Night:
Night 3 – Gibraltar
Night 8 – At Sea
Semi-Formal Night:
Night 13 – At Sea
Pirate Night:
Night 9 – At Sea
Theme Night:
Night 7 – At Sea
14 Night Transatlantic Westbound
Rotation 1 - 6:00 / 8:30 - LAPLAPLAPLAPLA
Rotation 2 - 6:00 / 8:30 - APLAPLAPLAPLAP
Rotation 3 - 6:00 / 8:30 - PLAPLAPLAPLAPL
We're with you on Animator's - it's like sitting in my parents' kitchen back in the 60s. We always try to schedule ourselves in Lumiere's for formal night, so APL works for the first formal (according to the latest schedule!) but also for Pirate night. There just doesn't seem to be a really good choice. :mad: Palo every night? :rolleyes1
OK - so we totally changed our minds... Autumn is going to think I am batty... We have changed to rotation1. ARRRG Captain! That be rotation 1 that ye be looking fer. There is plenty o rum there, and if yours fer the askin!
Man, focus on work for a day and it takes all night to catch up!
I'm another one who likes to be in Parrot Cay on Pirate Night (or AP, but not Lumieres), and doesn't like to be there on Formal Night. It's just not the sort of restaurant I want to be in wearing a fancy dress (those chairs always ruin what I wear anyway). Unfortunately, each of the rotations has something that I don't really like and there seems to be no way to avoid PC on a formal or semi-formal night.
So, I'm leaning toward having no opinion on rotations, and taking whatever comes (or whatever the group decides if we end up linking for early dining.) Of the 5 special nights, the LAP and PLA rotations both work okay for 4 of those nights, while the APL rotation only covers 3 of those. So if I had to give a preference, it would be for one of those two, though I might lean toward the PLA because P only lands on semi-formal and Theme night, and not on an actual formal night.
Sheetz is my favorite place to stop!!!
I'm a bad boy and you can all feel free to point and laugh at me on-board! :)
Because I just logged in for the first time in 5 days and there was something like 900 pages :eek: (well Maybe in exaggerating just a little) to catch up on….. so I admit it I skipped 40 or so….. There we go, I feel better for coming clean and admitting it.
I’m now so far out of the loop I can no longer even see the loop!!!
Sorry if I missed anything important.
but i'm back....
Oh and in case you're wondering i've been at Alton Towers. (thats a large roller coaster park for all of you who have never heard of it)
SW
I have to admit that I skipped several pages as well when we returned after being gone 3 days. :rolleyes1
In my opinion, I do not like Animator's Palate for dinner so LAP is not good for me because you get Animator's 5x's and it is also on the last night. I love Parrot Cay (probably in the minority) and Lumiere's is also a fave. I always get the LAP just because my DD is older so I think that is why. When we had our 1-year old little friend, we were in Parrot Cay the first night. I am going to request but what is the Captain Dining crew requesting since we are going to all link together - any ideas?
I have no preference as to rotation, but I was hoping to have William as server if he is available, which would mean on whatever his rotation is.
pirate:
Captain, are you going to link with the early dining group? I have not gotten a PM from you yet? We can request the rotation that puts us in PC for Pirates if everyone is up for that.
Very confused on the west coast.....Sue, I thought you were heading to Canada?????? How did you end up in FL?? Was it someone else?
C'est moi! We are heading to the Toronto area to check out our DD's new house!
Does anyone have any ideas about the best place to get your currency. We usually order in advance from Travelex and pick up at the airport .... but there may be better options out there ?????
I always go with Travelex as I find they give a good rate compared to other places
Wow, the exchange rates that were posted on that website were spectacular. I can't find rates that good in the US.
(But I am a newbie at foreign exchange rates)
I tried calling Travelex here last month and they quoted me 14% over interbank rates plus a $7.95 fee to exchange $200 to euros. :scared1:
My bank was only charging 5.8% over interbank rates. I think that that is close to what DCL charged on the EBTA. I wonder if the DCL rates are floating or they were the same for all summer? If they are the same they will be far higher than 5.8%.
For all you chocolate snobs, I happen to like Hershey's, now Nestle's chocolate is lousy.:rotfl2:
.
Hey now! Nestle is OK. Palmer chocolates are horrible! I bought a Palmer chocolate bunny when they were 75% off at Target. Only chocolate I ever threw out. I must admit that I probably wouldn't have thrown it out if I had paid full price! :rotfl:
:They sauce tastes good on anything. I start off with dipping the bun, then move onto the fries, and finish off with the chicken. Great now I want Swiss Chalet but I have to start work before they open and won't finish unit after they close :headache:Jon
Ok, another place to eat when we are in Canada! And there is one just around the corner from DD's house!
So no new glasses for me! RX hasn't changed enough to justify new glasses this year.
Guess I will just have to use that glasses money toward a new iPhone! :woohoo:
Oh we discovered them in WV on several trips now that is where we stop just to get hotdogs with sauce! Not like my grandma's but they beat anything I can get in TN (only Sonic has them here) We will be going to WV soon and will stop for some!
Just a thought - if you are having trouble with the hotel - why not just buy Euros to cover the cost of the hotel - this way you will do the same thing - if you do not have to pay a big fee to do it.
if this schedule is true, my vote would be for rotation 1 which puts us in Parrot Cay for Pirate Night.
