Oh, I think there are quite a few of us.

John and I
Michael and Mark
PJ
? Ann and Albert(BilboUK and FrodoUK)

Angie and Dennis are at the BCV

I know there are more out there.

Yes, we are at Boardwalk, 1 bed standard view for 3 nights.

Got up at 5 am and managed to book all the excursions we wanted and a Palo Brunch, much easier than 2008 PC cruise.

Ann

I thought I posted this last night, but I couldn't find it so I thought I'd repost again. I saw there is a new UK resident discount out for the 9/8 Med cruise, and I was wondering if it would work for any of the UK folks who may be doing the B2B cruises. I think the booking code is "UKR" but not sure about that. I saw it on the DCL website.

I think I noticed this last night so its probably hiding somewhere. No good for me though as not B2B but good spot!

I thought it was going to be more difficult too. Have never done it but have heard loads of horror stories about 5 hours trying to book 1 think! Mind you Erics night kind of sucked booking wise from the sounds of it.

You'll have to check this out: http://www.universalorlando.com/harrypotter/.

Having lived in Orlando for 14 years now, we really don't go to the parks very often any more. We WILL be going to Hogwart's, however!

Oh we'll be there, don't you worry! :thumbsup2 Actually we really love Islands of Adventure and we used to go every year on one day of our Disney Trip...but then it got to the point where there was NEVER anything new and we often travel in September or October when some of the rides are down for rehab so we'd end up disappointed and we decided to lay off the non-Disney parks for a while (which also helped save us rental car). Knowing that World of Wizarding with Harry Potter was opening AND about Sea World's relatively new waterpark and new Manta roller coaster is what pushed us over the top and made us decide this is the trip to hit the non-Disney stuff again!

Ok bad news for some of us - Disney is no longer offering the Dolphin Swim - they did in December but are not for our cruise and they are going to fix the web site where it shows.

I did do some checking and the place that does it does have openings for the day we are there. So the question is - do we do it on our own - not sure - I have not ventured out like that before - and I want to make sure my cruise insurance will cover the cost if we do not get to dock there and miss the excursion.

Krisann

yeah Jason and I thought of trying to find a way to do a dolphin experience ourselves...but I get nervous about doing something non-Disney...and now that we've had a night to sleep on it, I'm more into the idea of scuba diving than I was even last night.....so if they DO decide to open it up and offer it again miraculously closer to the cruise I'll consider it....otherwise I think we're gonna scuba dive.

is anyone planning on Parasailing at CC? We just booked the 11:30 one and hoping maybe some others are also?

Krisann

We are not, but we have on previous trips. It was truly one of our favorite excursions ever. My father and my niece did it together last May when we took my parents on their 40th Wedding Anniversary adventure (we took my parents to WDW and on a 4 night Wonder cruise (their 2nd trip to WDW in over 20 years and their first cruise ever)----and we surprised them by flying my 11 year old niece (their only grandchild at the time of the vacation) in from Germany where she lives (my brother is in the Air Force) to go on the vacation with us). Both my father and my niece thought it was amazing. Jason and I considered doing it again, and probably will on a future cruise, but with such a short day on Castaway we couldn't see losing an hour or more on an excursion----too much beach time lost!! :rotfl:

When are you eating brunch Ann? Which excursions are you doing? We are being a bit boring I think!!!:lmao: We like being on the ship!!!!!!!! but, we also like getting off for a walk, and perhaps a sightseeing tour to get a feel of the place.

Wow - that was an exciting night being able to book! We have 15 days left.

On another note - I started Weight Watchers this morning and man, oh man, I hate dieting. Unfortunately I really need to, so I am sticking w it. DH is onboard too. Eating low-cal soup and some cherries now.

I Love WW !!! Life Menber here, and not as if I needed to lose alot of weight... just about 10-15lbs.
Try their (WW) yogert .. the 1 point kind. My fave... lemon merigue pie:cool1: On our B2B2B cruise in 2007.. I gained only 2.2 lbs for the 3 weeks. I was very surprised it was that low:rotfl2:
Need any help... Im there for ya!:lovestruc

Erik... I cant tell you how many rants in the Dis... raise your hand if you've ever ranted?? LOL!

Ann:flower3:

Staying caught up on my lunch break I am taking. Now back to work.

good luck with your list, if I spent as much time doing stuff as I did making list I would get a heck of a lot more done.

I know that feeling too. There is always stuff left on the list, as I never finish everything. I try to accomplish things that I have put on multiple lists first.

Good afternoon, it is a hot, humid day here in Virginia

Ever have one of those days where you have so many things you could be doing, but you just feel like doing nothing? That is me today. I worked this morning and now, I just want to veg.

I think I will walk down and get the mail, maybe that will inspire me to do something.

Hope everyone is having a great day.

That was me last weekend with the holiday. I was a total veg and it felt good.

Gibraltar - Fortress Gibraltar (WW2 tunnels), we did the Seige tunnels etc on the EBTA in 2007.
Madeira - Views & Parks, we may cancel this later if I can get organised to use the taxi company Monica used in April, we really want to see some of the Gardens on the island.
St Maarten - Island Drive & Explorer Cruise
Tortola - Tortola by Land and Sea
We like to do a tour in the morning and then explore on our own later in the day.

Palo Brunch on Thurs 23 September.

Ann

Thanks for all the well wishes and I come with good news. I got the MRI results today and the muscle is not ruptured. It show that is sprain muscle that look like it is heeling and I have swelling in the wrist. There going to try and restrengthen the muscles in my arm with physical therapy and hope that is it. They also think there still could be a pinched nerve causing all the pain. I keep you updated. At least no surgery for now. :cool1::cool1::thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::yay::yay::yay:

That is good news that it turned out just to be a really bad sprain. I hope that you make a speedy recovery.

My wife and I are traveling to Europe in August for two weeks in Italy and Greece before heading to Barcelona for the Magic cruise back to the US. we will arrive in Barlona on the 14th.

We have not checked out this board before though I listen to the podcast regularly and have been to some DIS events in Orlando the past three Decembers and have done some writing for Passporter.

Is it too late to order t shirts?

Hello all!

I've just joined this cruise. It's just me (Paul). This will be my 13th DCL cruise but my first on my own. Hopefully I will be able to find enough to keep me busy!

:welcome: on board.

I hope you feel better soon! That sounds like a very uncomfortable accident!

I am finally online trying to get our reservations for the TA portion of the trip....I got what we wanted in every port except Tortola although we didn't get the TIMES we wanted in St. Maarten or Gibraltar (we wanted to do the afternoon version of the excursion in each port becasue I am not a morning person....but we got stuck with the first morning excursions...but at least we got them). Now we have to go look at what our options are for Tortola since we clearly can't swim with the dolphins:confused3

Anyhow....I think we arrive in BCN on the 7th as well...but not sure when. We booked our air through DCL so we don't have our flight info yet...but we're on a red eye leaving Orlando on the 6th so we're assuming that means we'll arrive late morning on the 7th or so, right? We are at the Hilton Diaganol Mar hotel in Barcelona (again booked thru DCL).

If you are still considering the dolphin swim, I can recommend ShoreTrips. DH booked an excursion through them in Nassau on our second cruise and they have been absolutely brilliant. They offer you a full refund if your ship does not make it to port. We made it, but a day later than planned and they really worked with him to reschedule the excursion for a day later. They offer the Royal Swim ($134) and the Dolphin Swim Adventure ($97), which is actually cheaper than booking through Dolphin Discoveries direct. I did the Dolphin Swim Adventure at Dolphin Discoveries in Cozumel last year and had a wonderful time, but think the Royal Swim appeals to me more.

I was able to log on this morning and get my Palo brunch reservation. :cool1: There was quite a bit of availability left. I was happy, the brunch is the only think I was trying for. I did consider the metabolic measurement thing at the Spa, but I thought that would probably be fairly easy to book once on board. :)

Krista

I would definitely recommend the Body Composition Analysis. We got a complimentary one on our Med cruise for taking part in a class and it was so interesting. We have made some fairly radical lifestyle changes as a result of this and are going to do the Body Composition Analysis again on this cruise to see if those changes have been effective. I do agree that it should be easy enough to book on board. We booked ours about 24 hours ahead of time.

I dont need to pay to have my metabolic rate checked, I can tell you,its way too slow:lmao:

LOL Sos mine!

I would not be too sure about this. I always assumed that my metabolism is rubbish, but the opposite is the case. My main problem is water retention.

I am still pondering this. We did this on the cruise last October and it was one of the most amazing things I ever did. We finally got to do it after it had been canceled due to adverse weather conditions the previous two cruises. So it was third time lucky for us. I would do this again in a heartbeat, but with the relatively short day, I wonder if it would leave me enough time to enjoy the other things I want to do. I really want to try out Pelican Plunge and also have a swim at Serenity Bay.

Just wanted to ask for some ideas and suggestions. Since we have so many creative people on here. Thought I'd ask you guys....

My oldest daughter is having a Relay For Life Team next Saturday and her booth theme is Carnival. If anyone has any creative ideas for games I would  to hear them. So far we have the standard tic-tac-toe game, magnetic darts, and someone suggested a Find-the-right-key door game.

Thank you in Advance for any help....you all are so wonderful.

Have a wonderful day - going to check out for a while...got me some hunting to do (as in carnival games)

One of the most popular Carnival games in Germany is where you make a pyramid out of cans and then people throw a ball at it trying to knock them all over.

You will enjoy the Tortola tour. I am considering that tour of St. Maarten too.

One of the carnival games I like is the balloons and you throw darts at them. I don't know if you can use "darts" nowadays with kids, but it was always fun back in the day.

There is also where you toss a coin onto a plate and if it stays you win a prize. Not as dangerous as darts. I LOVE carnival games and have it for my Wii.

I hit sent a little to quickly.

Well, I know that I won't be getting up at 5 AM on June 20th. There were two things that I was hoping to book: the dolphin swim in Tortola, which is no longer offered, and Palo for which it looks the slots are all taken. Actually I am not too upset that I do not have to get up so early on a Sunday.

What is it, ?? what do they tell you, joking apart it sounds very interesting.

Also I am so excited, I really hope they offer the massage classes.

Well, we just finished our garage sale and we did pretty well! More stuff that we won't be packing up for Mexico! We've ordered another bin for delivery on Monday to toss MORE junk that's still hanging around.

Also thinking that maybe I should check in and see about those reservations/tours/spa stuff since I was passed out last night by 8:00; couldn't even keep my eyes open until 9:00 for the rush.

Let's see what happens....

Wishing everyone a great weekend.
Michael

The session started with a lifestyle consultation (nutrition, exercise, stress levels, goals, etc.) and then we were hooked up to a machine. They measured hydration level, body fat, water retention and metabolic rate. Based on this, the fitness instructor then made suggestions on how the areas of concern could be improved. It really was an eye-opener.

Corinna - it sounds interesting, but was it depressing and did you feel guilty eating or drinking after that? I am not asking to be funny because I would love to do it, but think it would be an eye-opener and not really wanting to eat or drink for the rest of the trip.

I know I posted this a few months ago, but I wanted to post it again.

Who is staying at the Boardwalk after the cruise???

We are at BCV until 10/6 then home :) Sounds like anothe spread sheet! Who is doing MNSSHP on 10/3 and are you dressing up?

A carnival game that easy to do is with the rubber ducks. You number a couple of them and who ever pulls out a numbered duck, gets a prize.

Erik & Jason- how did the walk go today? I thought of you around 10 when I was getting ready to go get my text books. Don't get me started on that racket!!!

Both Amanda and I signed up for the exotic rasual. I'm not sure I'm keeping mine. Not big on people touching me since part of it is a massage.

Annette :)

Hi everyone!! Happy Saturday!!!

It's over 100 degrees here in So Cal today and I'm dying of hot!!! :headache:

Wow - that was an exciting night being able to book! We have 15 days left.

Have you done it before? How do you like it? I just started Zumba this morning and had a great time!! Now I have to get the food thing under control a little more...

Re: Frangipani Scalp Ritual. This is on my list too, I love a good scalp massage.

Pj

Me too!!! I sooo want to do this!!! I WILL do it!!!!

I hit sent a little to quickly.

My travel agent told me they hold back ressies for each group so while Palo may be closed now for those who already had a chance to book there should be some open for us when it comes our time to book!! So looks like you might have to get up at 5am afterall. ;)

Corinna - it sounds interesting, but was it depressing and did you feel guilty eating or drinking after that? I am not asking to be funny because I would love to do it, but think it would be an eye-opener and not really wanting to eat or drink for the rest of the trip.

Gus and I did it last year and really didn't like it. In fact, it was the only thing about the cruise that we complained about. Everything we were told seemed like common sense to us and we really didn't learn anything new. Everyone we know that did it were told they had great metabolic rates, even when some of us knew we did not. Also, they really pushed their supplement products on us and once we were done the whole thing felt like one big informercial. Anyhow, there was someone in our Dis Group that had a different person and really loved it so everyone has a different experience and I wouldn't tell anyone not to do it but we were really disappointed.

Does anyone know how long the bus ride is from the airport in Barcelona to the port? Where does the bus drop us off at the port....Terminal C or near the Columbus statue? Thanks.
