Yum! I love Cherry Ripes - they are so delicious!

Now where the heck am I going to get a "throw away" gown? :rotfl: Seriously, I'm a trousers girl, I only ever wear a skirt on holiday. I don't even own a dress!

Oh Good, I'll keep defending them! :thumbsup2
Throw away gown? Have you seen those TV shows where they make wedding gowns out of toilet paper? :lmao:

Thanks! I haven't been in June before, but my husband travels to Phoenix once or twice a month. He warned me! Especially, with the kids!!

Today we got up to..... 112 :scared1:
The 4 GC , Dh and I spent about 3 hrs in the pool. What a nice time.
Hint: never give a DGS14 and DGS9 the garden hose:lmao::lmao:
My mistake was turning around when they yelled" Grandma... watch this!"
I thought I was going to drowned laughing:rotfl2: Did I mention they were BOYS??? I think you can figure it out:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Ann:cool2:

One of the carnival games I like is the balloons and you throw darts at them. I don't know if you can use "darts" nowadays with kids, but it was always fun back in the day.

There is also where you toss a coin onto a plate and if it stays you win a prize. Not as dangerous as darts. I LOVE carnival games and have it for my Wii.

You can also do Hook a Duck where you fill a kids paddling pool with plastic ducks and have hooks on the top. Put a number under each duck. The people have to hook a duck with a pole and some of the numbers win a prize.

Also a tombola .... get people to donate items, and stick numbers on them. Put the same numbers into a bowl folded up and people pick out a number and they win the corresponding item.

Well, I know that I won't be getting up at 5 AM on June 20th. There were two things that I was hoping to book: the dolphin swim in Tortola, which is no longer offered, and Palo for which it looks the slots are all taken. Actually I am not too upset that I do not have to get up so early on a Sunday.

Corinna

Are there really NO Palo slots available ..... :scared1::scared1:

Thanks to everyone for your support. I went to a birthday party today and that made it really hard to stick to the diet. I used up some of my free points but still ate less than I would have had I not been dieting so I am proud. I also went for a great walk this morning.

I have done WW before and liked it. It is easy and flexible. It is too expensive though so I am doing it from my materials from last time. The weigh in I don't really need. DH and I are keeping each other accountable...

I'd like to lose about 12-15lbs before the cruise. I find it very difficult to lose weight so we shall see. Thanks for the encouragement!

I am on a mission to lose at least another 7lbs ..... have lost 7lbs since April. Also need to drop a dress size if my old cruise clothes are to fit me. :rolleyes1I am just trying to walk a lot more, and watching my calorie / fat intake. I am also doing stretching exercises every day.

Good luck with your WW ..... and good luck to everyone trying to shift a few lbs. :wizard::wizard:

I promised someone I'd bring some crunchie bars - it was someone who had been to New Zealand and who's wife really liked them.

It was so long ago now, that I've forgotten who they were for

cadburycrunchie.jpg

Just want to make sure I get them to you once onboard, else I'll be forced to eat them :rotfl:

Paula, we have the crunchy bars here too. Grandma always put them in our stockings.

Pj

Oh no .... there goes my idea for the Candy Swap, I thought Crunchies were pretty much unique to the UK.

:rotfl::rotfl: This is something my DS used to do when he was younger .... he would probably still do it given the opportunity.

I hit sent a little to quickly.

There were plenty of dinner reservations, and still some brunch ones I think. But, you will get them onboard if you go straight to Rocking Bar D or whatever it is called!!!

The session started with a lifestyle consultation (nutrition, exercise, stress levels, goals, etc.) and then we were hooked up to a machine. They measured hydration level, body fat, water retention and metabolic rate. Based on this, the fitness instructor then made suggestions on how the areas of concern could be improved. It really was an eye-opener.

Corinna
I think I would want them to pay me to go to something that would make me feel guilty for eating all the cruise food!!!:lmao:

They used to be my favourite chocolate bar, but here they have cut down on the amount of chocolate coating. It used to be really thick. (When I was young......etc, etc!!!;)) Still love them though.

I just received the following in an e-mail from DCL:

"*Nights 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14: cruise casual
*Nights 2 & 7: "formal night" - formal wear for men: tuxedo or suit;
for women: gown or dress
*Night 8: "theme night"
*Night 11: pirate night with deck party - cruise casual or bring your
best pirate outfit!
*Night 13: "semi-formal night" - semi-formal wear for men: suit/jacket;
for women: dress or pantsuit."

That's what I'm going by!

That seems to be the most regular list now.:thumbsup2

Now where the heck am I going to get a "throw away" gown? :rotfl: Seriously, I'm a trousers girl, I only ever wear a skirt on holiday. I don't even own a dress!

:rotfl2: Of you can't find a disposable dress, try for the lightest, possibly a crinkle dress you can and then it will take no weight at all. Here there are loads of maxi dresses this year for summer, and some would really look very nice at a formal night and be a lot lighter than some proper formal dresses.

That's what I was thinking Marilyn. I have some beautiful dresses, but they are heavy or boned and too hard to pack. I do have a black silk maxi dress that I may wear to one formal night, It folds up to nothing, and if I hang it in the bathroom while I have a hot steamy shower the wrinkles should drop. :thumbsup2

I do have a question about the kids though. They have an outfit for 1 formal night. But the other they are hoping to wear some ballerina / princess dresses that their Granny bought them. They are not short, quite long tulle skirt. Would they be OK?:confused3

I think they would be ideal :thumbsup2

Hi everyone!! Happy Saturday!!!

It's over 100 degrees here in So Cal today and I'm dying of hot!!! :headache:

Have you done it before? How do you like it? I just started Zumba this morning and had a great time!! Now I have to get the food thing under control a little more...

Me too!!! I sooo want to do this!!! I WILL do it!!!!

My travel agent told me they hold back ressies for each group so while Palo may be closed now for those who already had a chance to book there should be some open for us when it comes our time to book!! So looks like you might have to get up at 5am afterall. ;)

Gus and I did it last year and really didn't like it. In fact, it was the only thing about the cruise that we complained about. Everything we were told seemed like common sense to us and we really didn't learn anything new. Everyone we know that did it were told they had great metabolic rates, even when some of us knew we did not. Also, they really pushed their supplement products on us and once we were done the whole thing felt like one big informercial. Anyhow, there was someone in our Dis Group that had a different person and really loved it so everyone has a different experience and I wouldn't tell anyone not to do it but we were really disappointed.
Thanks for your views, TBH< this is kinda what I thought, great to get 2 views.

Its so hard, at home I follow the fairy liquid diet, I have to put fairy liq on stuff then bin it to stop me eating it( I dont have a healthy relationship with food) PM me if you ever need support.

mmmmmmmmmm crunchies.
Oh, Mine is really fast....It just goes backwards!!! :lmao:

Ha ha

I have lists for everything! I even have a list of my lists, sadly, I am not joking! :rotfl:

I write lists for len when I am at work, he bins them:headache:

Well done! It feels so good to de-clutter your life too!

I cant stand clutter in the house or my head.

If it was bad news about my health I would think - Oh well, may as well make the most of the time I have left, Pass me a Mickey bar.
If it was good news about my health I would think - Great, I'm in good health, I can afford to splurge, Pass me a Mickey bar.
So really, doesn't matter either way! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:
Pass me one too.
My thought was a duck pond - use rubber ducks and a small kiddie pool or a very big bowl (we used one from our church)

I will check the dolphin site out - we are also cruising in Feb/March on the Dream so maybe that if nothing works out.

As for the parasailing - we did it for the first time on the EBTA and we all loved it! We picked the 11:30 time as that is the first offered (15 minutes after our "arrival time" and I thought it would be a good way to start the day off - then we will head to lunch and still have 3 hours or so to enjoy the beach - which is plenty for us!

The Rasual is for couples so you are touching each other - no one else is touching you like in a massage or I guess you could put the mud on yourself too, as well as the lotions, oils, etc. that is part of that routine.

Krisann
Still cant decide re para sailing, will have to make all these decisions next week, the next I am back at work and hardly see Len
One thing for definate, we are booking the rasul at the start and end of our cruise.:thumbsup2

Thanks for posting this, at least my dresses for formal night will still fit:rotfl:

The barbershop group and quartet event this evening was fun! I love going to those because I always feel so young! :rotfl2: I would say the average age of attendees is around 25-30 years my senior.

Both of John's quartets performed, plus he had key parts in some of the songs with The Singing Buckeyes group (there are about 40 men in that group). They practiced their international competition set for "Class Ring", and it was FANTASTIC! Amazing voices harmonized. They really are humbled that out of 900+ quartets in the organization world-wide, they are one of forty-five qualified to compete at this level. They're all really good men!

:thumbsup2 OHHH boy!! I hear ya!! That's budgeted into my souvenir list, too! However, I fear that they will be out of the Med/European version by the time we get onboard. THAT is what would make a real souvenir of our cruise. :goodvibes I know they're going to have a standard DCL design, but I want the one with the international flags on it. FINGERS CROSSED!!!
A few years ago I hated myself, I never bought anything for myself, no clothes, shoes or bags, now it is differant, I cant but enough of the stuff, Len is so sweet, he encourages me cause he knows that I feel so much better about me now that I am more than a hundred pounds lighter. So to get to the point I may just be tempted.

I would definitely recommend the Body Composition Analysis. We got a complimentary one on our Med cruise for taking part in a class and it was so interesting. We have made some fairly radical lifestyle changes as a result of this and are going to do the Body Composition Analysis again on this cruise to see if those changes have been effective. I do agree that it should be easy enough to book on board. We booked ours about 24 hours ahead of time.

Corinna

Does it still include the Posture Analysis? I did it with a personal training thing on the 11 night SC cruise a few years back as I wanted the posture analysis. I drop my one hip when I stand so got loads of strengthening exercises to try and lift my one hip. Im better than I was but still drop it which is why I get bad backs. That was veryt interesting!

Corinna

Theyll open more slots on the 20th Corinna, according to DCL anyway! They only release a certain amount of Palo slots at each opening so I would be inclined to try just incase.

Same for those not able to book on the 5th - meant to mention this yesterday Eric!

Does anyone know how long the bus ride is from the airport in Barcelona to the port? Where does the bus drop us off at the port....Terminal C or near the Columbus statue? Thanks.

If you are catching the DCL buses they drop off at Terminal C. On the last TA they included a free tour of Barcelona but I'm not sure they are doing this or not now! It probably was around 20 mins to the port but the tour took an hour!

This seems to be the DCL one but Paula's conceirge is saying something different! Very odd! Hoping nearer the time it will be all sorted.

What's fairy liquid?
WOW, 100 pounds is huge, I'm not even going to ask how you did it, coz I know the answer, Eat right and exercise. Why is it so hard to do those 2 little things?
Love it, Never trust a hose! :thumbsup2

Good, so they won't be the only ones. I wish they had a Bibbidy Bobbidy Boutique on the ship! We doing it in WDW but it's kind of wasted there, It would be great for formal night. :thumbsup2

Thanks, they will be happy! :thumbsup2

Yum! I love Cherry Ripes - they are so delicious!

They are really similar to Violet Crumbles which are I think Australian or maybe from the UK?

No idea what violet crumbles are....they sound intriguing!:thumbsup2

Maintaining is so hard, and it seems you have done remarkably well there too!!! Most people put the weight back on and then some!!! Well done you.:thumbsup2
