Oh now i'm confussed i always thought you (erik) were on the left in your picture and jason was on the right, have i got that wrong???

Yes you have us switched. I am the one on the right with the blonde hair, longer....Jason, my hubby, is the one on the left with the buzz cut red hair.

At the Disney hotels we have stayed at we end up with piles of extras even though we don't use anything but the shower gel and hand soap. I think I could have filled a suitcase some times.:lmao: We leave it all there apart from an odd shower gel and soap.

When we have been at WDW we usually have a drawer that we use to store all the soap, shampoo, etc in. We got more everyday. We took it home gladly. It's great for the kids' swimming lesson post-showers, camping, etc. On our cruise we did the same thing, and mentioned to our stateroom host that we liked the shampoo and we had lots! We have two rooms this cruise so I am already thinking about the copious amounts of toiletries I hope to bring home. DH thinks I am nuts. I get a little thrill whenever I use the products at home, and the smell evokes that happy vacation feeling. :lovestruc

Miss a day and half of Dis and there almost 15 new pages of posts :)

First of all, I hope everyone with injuries and illnesses, get better soon.

We are doing MNSSHP on 10/3 with dinner at the Crystal Palace before the party starts and I can't wait. Love me some Pooh! Not sure if we will dress up this year though. That will be one more thing I would have to pack.

We always take the shampoo that we can get from where ever we are staying. The best was at Shutters on the Beach in Santa Monica CA. I can't remember what it was I just remember that I loved it. I just started a new job at a Salon/Spa/Beauty Retailer and they sell the H2O products that they have on DCL. I spent a few minutes smelling the bottle and my new co workers thought I was crazy :scared:

Has anyone read "Bringing Home the Birkin"? It's a really great book and the author lives in Barcelona.

Have a great night everyone :)

Hey just noticed on this thread that although they said 2 formal and 3 semi on the overview of the cruise, they actually only had 1 formal 2 semi which matches to the last TA

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=36442169#post36442169

I was on the cruise. We had 2 formal nights and 2 semis. The confusion arose because there was a difference between the "cruise overview" sheet (which listed 3 semis) and the Navigators (which had 2). Some people did dress up on the "extra" night as we were all unsure. I compromised and wore my best "non-dressy" outfit. Free alcohol was served at receptions on both formals, not at the semis.

Stopping by to say hello. Life has gotten in the way of my planning latley, but hopefully it is looking up. Have an appt tomorrow with the cariologist for FIL, fingers crossed all is well.

DSis has her vow renewal finalized, YEAH! It will be on the 27th while we are at sea.

Did anyone book a limo/ car service in Barcelona? Last time we hailed a cab, but his time we will have luggage and are going to a hotel.

Any thoughts?

Guess it depends on what you want to do with them! I have a net book and an iphone too.

I wanted an ebook reader and was trying to decide what to do when the iPad was announced. I don't mind reading the Kindle app on the iPhone, but it is way too small for me. You are always turning pages!

So I got an iPad for my birthday. I can do everything I want to do in one package-- watch movies, play games, read, email, etc.

Best thing about the iPhone for me was the free White Noise app for the long plane ride!

One of our Apple techs brought the iPad he bought in Buffalo in today to tease me, he knows I really want one, but that I don't want to touch it until I get my own, which is planned for August. Mean Apple geek boy,:sad2:.

Well I had my hospital appointment to get my MRI results today. Good news is nothing nasty which is what I anticipated, but they want to take the gallbladder out as there is some inflammation and tiny gallstones. It is the tiny gallstones that are the problem passing down the bile duct and going into the pancreatic one causing the nasty acute pancreatitis. They don't want me to have another attack, and I sure don't. Apart from being one of the most painful things, it can be fatal.:scared1:

So, that should be done in the next 2-3 weeks, by keyhole surgery hopefully, so no big deal, and I should(barring complications) be absolutely fine for this vacation. I have to continue with my low fat diet till then.

Just need to make sure of the cancellation policy and dates just in case as I can't get insurance till it is all over, and these dates are fast approaching!

I can start looking forward again and planning!!!

AWESOME!

Hey did anyone see someone posted a special gift they got on the cruise. I hope we get one of these for our cruise:

270.jpg

Love this, on the WBPc cruise our end of cruise gift was a ceramic trinket box, the redeeming quality, the characters on it are Chip and Dale.

Oh I hope we're sitting near you and can see you dressed up with all the ties. What fun!!!!!

I want to see them as well!

Pj

PS. I am PIF, the rest is all for Angie, lol. :rolleyes1

You can get a program from Amazon to use Kindle on your netbook, but I didn't care for it. YMMV!

So I got an iPad for my birthday. I can do everything I want to do in one package-- watch movies, play games, read, email, etc.

I will take my iPhone, but I found that when I was in London I was petrified of incurring those very high international data charges. I thought that I would be able to find wifi hotspots to use the wifi, but if the free wifi was there I couldn't find it. McD did have it!

Best thing about the iPhone for me was the free White Noise app for the long plane ride!
How is the skype app on the iPad??? I want one sooooo much. If I get the ipad, I'll leave the netbook at home. I kept my phone in airplane mode this last cruise, but now I know I can take the sim out and still use it for free wifi. I am so torn. Thanks for your reply!:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

I really think that Skype would be better on the iPhone. I haven't tried it on the iPad, but I wonder how well the built in microphone would work. I wonder if you could use the headset that came with the iPhone that has the microphone built in.

You can leave your phone in airplane mode and turn on the wifi without removing the sim. Give it a try!

I am enjoying the iPad. However, I think that some of the things that are coming out with the 4.0 upgrade with make it even better.:surfweb:

Joined the PIF club today!! Actually charged it to the Disney Visa, but that counts doesn't it??

I am also a member of Girls without Gallbladders!

What can I say... I am just a joiner!:dance3:

Im definately doing the Disney shampoo and haven't told Dan yet but were sharing Deodrant lol!

They did not run out of any shampoo things onboard! In fact our stateroom host gave us new shampoo 3 times a day!

DH and I will also be sharing deodorant, facial cleanser and moisturiser, and anything else we can! So if anyone sees a big manly guy smelling like lavender or roses........ probably my DH!:rotfl:

I'm glad it's not bad news, sounds like it's better out than in.:thumbsup2

I am sure you will have a speedy recovery. I had this surgery by laparoscopy several years ago. The recovery time was very quick. I was in at 8AM and going home by 4PM. I was told not to travel for a week and after that and my checkup, no restrictions.

One of the things I did was give up coffee which I thought was bothering my stomach. Plus, I have tried to continue the low fat diet ever since. One thing I did notice for me is that I can no longer digest red meat. I realize that the liver takes over the function of the pancreas but that is one of my side affects.

You will be back in no time obsessing and planning with the rest of us DISers.

Just my thoughts.

:
Funny you should say that, I gave up coffee a couple of years ago due to stomach cramps and other nasty side effects, and found out last year that I have gallbladder polyps. The Dr said coffee is a very common "bad food" for gallbladder problems.

I'm going to get tickets for 10/3! I went to MNSSHP in 2008 and I had a blast! Can't wait!

We also went in 2008 and had such a good night! We are going to go on the 7th this year. I have already booked BBB for my 2 DD's then CRT for lunch and we'll finish with MNSSHP....HUGE day!!!!! :woohoo:

Hey did anyone see someone posted a special gift they got on the cruise. I hope we get one of these for our cruise:

270.jpg

What's the deal with the gifts, Are they just for CC members or does everyone get them? Disney really know how to make you feel welcome, huh? :thumbsup2

I've been watching all the conversation about dinner attire and formal nights vs. semi vs. cruise casual, etc....but I haven't ever thrown in my two cents...but I'm procrastinating getting work done so now seems as good a time as any!

I know I'm in the minority here...but I'm hoping for 2 formal nights---that will give me and Jason a chance to wear our various Disney-themed tie/vest and tie/cummerbund (sp?) sets! :thumbsup2

People who have cruised with us before know we have this "thing" about dinner attire. ;) I should preface this by saying that at home we never dress up----EVER. Jason works in a very casual job where he can basically wear what he wants to it's jeans and Tshirts or polo shirts most days. I have a "business casual" job where I have to wear khaki pants and most days I wear a polo shirt or MAYBE a collared shirt....but NEVER a tie. And we NEVER wear suits except to funerals and weddings!

On our cruises, however, we wear ties to dinner every single night----we wear DISNEY ties!! This all started on our last TA cruise, the EBTA in 2007. On that cruise we decided we were going to bring a different disney-themed tie for every night of the cruise----and the tradition has stuck! Sometimes we wear the same matching tie....sometimes we wear coordinating ties (like they are different ties but have the same character and/or film theme)...sometimes we just wear whatever ties that don't go together at all....but we wear Disney ties every night. Many of the ties I have scrounged up on ebay over the past couple years, but I have also taken to actually buying fabric and MAKING us ties when I can find fun Disney fabric. I've done the same thing with our formal wear. We have one set of mickey mouse vest/bowties that we bought...but I have since made us several different matching sets of ties and vests or cummerbunds----Mickey Mouse, Disney Princesses, Little Mermaid, 101 Dalmations (that's the photo of us in my signature), Finding Nemo, Tinker Bell----we even have a set of "Golden Mickeys" vests and ties I made after our last cruise for us to wear on Golden Mickey's night----only to find that they got rid of that show!!!:scared1::scared1: (We will probably keep the magic alive by wearing that set on this cruise anyway, though).

So anyhow...we're at the point now where we own just under 50 Disney neckties and at least 6 formal Disney bowtie/vest/cummerbund sets----and we will be bringing and wearing them all....so on the B2B cruise we intend to keep the tradition alive by wearing a Disney tie or formal set to dinner every night----and never wearing the same one twice!!! (As guys we're fortunate we can launder and recycle the dress shirts & slacks and then just wear different ties----so it seems like a whole new outfit LOL).

So if you end up seated near us in the dining room(s), make sure you take note of what the tie for the day is!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it. Can't wait to check them out!

Oh i was a lurker for a long time too...

it's my first DC so didn't think i'd have much to bring to the forum, but it's been super fun being able to get excited with like minded people. I try not to mention it too much at work think my work friends think i'm a bit odd taking about Fish extenders, candy swaps and decorating my door :rotfl:

SW
My family seriously think I am obssessed....maybe just a little bit :rolleyes1
I was hoping to get my income tax refund in the mail today so I could be PIF too, but no such luck... :sad1:

This afternoon, I went to my twin's sister's school where she teaches. She does an after school reading program and today was the last day so she decided to have an ice cream party. I brought over all of the ice cream, bowls, spoons, toppings (gummy bears, chocolate chips, sprinkles, chocolate syrup, cherries, M&M's and whipped cream) and surprised her kids with it. Beth (my twin) sent the one little girl out in the hallway to 'check to see if another teacher was in the hallway' and she stopped dead and looked right at me with a very confused look. She looked back at Beth and then at me again. :lmao: Poor kids were confused but very excited! I was able to stay for the ice cream party and spend some time with her kids. It was fun! Here's a picture of Beth and I from my bridal shower...I don't think we look alike but apparently the kids did!

BethI.jpg

That is funny! I can see that your sisters, but I wouldn't have picked identical. :confused3

Yes you have us switched. I am the one on the right with the blonde hair, longer....Jason, my hubby, is the one on the left with the buzz cut red hair.

Ooohh, Your both so cute, I didn't know either? :confused3 Thanks for clearing that up!

Oh, that just reminded me. We are PIF too!!!!:dance3:

Not sure what the exchange rate will do with the election next week. If Gordon Brown keeps making a fool of himself there is more and more chance of a hung parliament and that probably would mean a bad rate for us!(However, a hung parliament might not be a bad thing for a while)

Maz you've joined the panic Sarah club lol! I'm still hoping that it wont effect the exchange rate too badly!

Eric - we loved seeing all the ties & vests last time! It really made our day! There was so much work that went in to them!

We always changed for dinner anyway, even when we went to Topsiders. Just seems more special.

We always change for dinner too its just Dan wears a shirt and trousers all week in work so on vacation its the last thing hes going to do. A shirt and jeans hell stretch to, and a few formal nights is fine but I can't see him doing it for the entire cruise!

First... my multi post thingy is gone

YEAH It's no longer just me!!! I'm so happy someone else has this issue!

I love the products that DCL uses. We carry only the 3oz size for emergencies. Plus... I take lots home. Im a shampoo hoarder:lmao:
So Erik if I show up to your door... hand over the goodies!:rotfl2:

The pics of the Hyatt Hotel at Orlando gives me nightmares!!!
On our B2B2B in 2007, just past midnight an young man jumped off the 6th floor and landed in the dry water fountain. Our room had a balcony, we saw everything:scared1::scared1::scared1: The next morning the hotel and DCL said nothing about it. Im so glad they said nothing. Not a great way
to start a cruise!:sad2:

The new box is better then the one we got on the maiden of Magic!! We had a ton of things in ours. 2 books about how Magic was a concept to built.
2 watches(his and hers) 2 hats, 2 leather portfolios and 2 pens. And the other gift was 2 framed print2 of "Mickey at the Helm". As we left the port, they gave us 2 more. We told the CM we already have 2, she said they have left overs.

Ann

LOL sounds like you got loads on the Maiden trip! I found another post that said that the people on the EBTA got a tiara and mask as well on the night that Villians Tonight was on.
