Hey everyone! Just saying hello!!!
We booked with DVC and have not gotten a OBC letter. If anyone gets one, let us know! Would be nice to get it.:goodvibes
Cannot believe it is 30wks away now! Cannot wait to go....dh and I are so excited just talking about the trip! except the flight....LOL!

We are expected to get a snow storm starting tonight......that will only make me miss Florida that much more!;)

It's a great place to go on holiday very relaxing, and american foodcourts (subway, applebees, mac and starbuck).

And for the people how like Atlantis it's also on Dubai Palm.

John is finally back from Barcelona and organizing his photos of the trip.

I showed him your photos of Dubai which we both loved. His first comment was Taiwan is very jealous of the fact that their building has now surpassed the 101 building. He also asked me to ask you how you found Dubai as a vacation spot? Is it a place you go on business or just pleasure? both of us are just very curious as we have never been to the Middle East.

Hello everyone

New to the Dis board! Have booked today for the transatlantic cruise from Barcelona. Me - Sarah and Mum Liz:banana: got a great price and we are so looking forward to it.

Second cruise, first Disney last June/July 7 nights on the Magic in the Caribbean to celebrate Mum's 60th Birthday with my sister.

We arrive in barcelona on the Friday and plan to take a bus tour in the afternoon so we see something of the city.

See you all there:yay:

HI Sarah .... welcome aboard. :goodvibes:goodvibes Where in Cheshire are you? We live in Prestatyn in North Wales so not far away. This is our second Disney Cruise too. Have you checked out post 1 on this thread for lots of information. We also have our own website www.transtlanticpirates.com but I am not sure if it has been having a few server problems just lately.

and welcome to the wonderful DIS :goodvibes:goodvibes

He said the OBC should not have gone to anyone on the transatlantic cruises. They were only supposed to go to Med and Baltic cruises. I did not argue with him, I just said if it was an error they should honor it, but honor it for everyone.

Donna
:confused3, I still cant believe we got letters, when everybody else was reporting they got letters in December I just never thought, if you get it you get it, otherwise:confused3 Did it really take 2 months for the letters to come from usa, maybe It was cause we lost money on the globespan flights, I believe in karma
Well, we've been back from Cabo for a few days and time to say hi to everyone again! :wave2:

While down there we made arrangements for our new housing in San Miguel. We really wanted one particular place so even though Marc doesn't retire until the end of March we were able to sign beginning March 1 at a reduced rate for that month and then full bore April and onward. The house is described as Gaudi-esque so we'll compare it to the Gaudi achitecture in Barcelona when we're there in September. It definitely isn't what one might think you'd see in central Mexico, that's for sure! We're looking around the house here in CA and wondering how much "stuff" we'll be taking with us. We see a few yard sales coming up!

On to Disneyland later this morning! Housecleaning can wait for another day!!!!
Sounds like fun!!!

My Mum and Dad loved it, but said you could be anywhere in the world.

Oh my God another Sarah? LOL we are outnumbering everyone! Welcome! We're flying in late Friday and staying at the hotel so not going to get in much sight seeing but never mind.

Were, Sarah and Dan, are from South Wales. This is my 6th cruise and Dans first (nothing like throwing him in at the deep end lol).

Also my Mum and Dad (gailadams_uk - Gail & John) are joining us and hopefully my sister and hubby (rikimuk - Lindsay & Martin) but they are still sorting out leave at the mo so haven't posted over here as yet!

Anyway bye for now

Thanks for the link Sarah (totally Angelic) I'll have a look at it. Sarah (gismo1554) at least we won't be getting everyone's names mixed up:rotfl:

Didn't think there would be so many Brits on board last time there was a total of 5 of us - 3 of them being me my mum and sister!! Great to get a welcome from California too.

Thanks Sarah

Should of said, we live just South of Manchester near the airport!

Very cool. Some of the girls (Lynne and Sarah) are going to Mousemeets in May in Manchester - its a conference thingy for Disney fans. I was meant to go but have had to cancel due to costs of getting from here.

On the last TA's there weren't many brits at all. We've got a fair few on this one.

We had vaction in Dubai, it's not a Middle East city. But more a american or Europe big city. We where in Egypt that's more Middle East for me. But we had a real good time in Dubai, lot to do (malls, Beaches, creek, safari and lots to come). And the shape off the buildings are great and also inside it's great and modern. I have been before in a 5 star hotel but this was perfect.
And our first hotel was also great. If you like waterparks they have them also and that was fun to. So if you what to go i say yes, you will have a great vaction and a relaxt one.

Thanks for the information. John and I will certainly consider Dubai as a place we want to visit.

Hey there everyone! Sorry I've been gone from the boards for about two weeks. It's been more hectic than normal lately, which isn't saying much, but it is hectic. For instance, as I type, for the second time this week, people are here taking care of the sewage back-up in my basement. UGH! If it's not one thing, it's another!

Sooooo....with that said, I will make it my mission this week to catch up and get an update Barcelona Hotel/Apartment Roll Call List up on Post #4. I promise! :)

Welcome to all the new cruisers! I'm so happy you're joining us!!

Awhile ago, I was reading through today's newspaper, and I saw a sad picture from Octavio Passos/Associated Press of a man being pulled from the flash flooding in Funchal, Madeira yesterday. The caption states that 32 have died. :sad1:

On a lighter note, I took some "vacation" time and went to Cincinnati, Ohio Thursday and Friday to spend some time with a friend. I had never been to the Newport (KY) Aquarium, so I decided to check that out. It was okay....not worth the cost of admission IMO, but I'm glad I experienced it.

Additionally, I went to Jungle Jim's International Market. I had seen it featured on the Food Network years ago, so I thought "What the heck....I have nothing better to do!" Portions of it are kind of corny, but WOW do they ever have a variety of international food and produce (and delicious baklava)! There were so many countries represented there with imported foods. Was it Paula who had previously spoken of Tim Tams? Well I saw those in various flavors and thought of all of you since we had chatted about them!! We have a lot of ethnic grocers here in Columbus, so the frozen and canned foods weren't too unusual to me, but I was AMAZED at the foreign produce! Many interesting vegetables and fruits! At the time, I was too intimated to try any! I regret not buying some now.

Make it a great week everyone!

PS: MOUSE UPDATE: The mouse must have left the car on his own will because there's been no more evidence of the critter...thank God! :rotfl2:

Well, I got a letter from disney today giving us a 100 obc, to say thanks for our business, is it coming up to payment date??

Evening all. Just returned today from 9 days in CA to find our letter on the door mat. Woo Hoo! More on-board credit.

YAY!!! :woohoo:

And, then my new boss (who is a real JERK – ask Glenn he will agree) went on and on this morning about how awful a transatlantic cruise with KIDS would be

He needs to get a life. We've done several long disney cruises and must admit that you hardly ever see the kids as they are having so much fun in their clubs.

Oh for Gos and HallsofVA I just rebooked the Renaissance at the Airport in Barcelona as the "non-paid in advance" rate for room only had gone from 125 euros to 115 euros. Thought it worth rebooking and cancelling the other one as 10 euros is the transfer to the port for one of us

Thanks for this. We'll look into it.
