For all that travels West,I need a little help.

Question 1
When we fly into Barcelona can you get your passports stamped? ON ours last trip out of Barcelona they did not stamp them. Maybe that a thing of the past.

Question 2
with 2 1/2 days in Barcelona will it be hard to order food in the local eatery I only speak English ?

Like always thinks for all the help

TA2

AKA Joe and Connie

Question 1 -> According to my Passport as a European you do not but as any other country I assume you would

Question 2 -> You wont find it too hard. Even in Cadiz ~(Which is a lot more Spanish than Barcelona) the language barrier wasn't an issue! Alot of things are on display and you can always point (as we did in Ben and Jerrys)

How about something new to pass the time?

How about our own Disney trivia challenge? Every Friday I'll post a Disney related question. We'll see who comes up with the correct answer. I'll post the answer on the following Friday with the next question. Reply via PM.

Which of the Seven Dwarfs leads the charge up the mountain after the disguised Queen?

Jon
DUH!

Didnt read on and posted my reply lol

So pleased you have fully recovered......although I'm sure I would have enjoyed helping you eat your desserts :rotfl2:

We have a lot of planning to do for this trip still as there seems lots to arrange.

Dawn

It will be as if you're both locals. :thumbsup2 I've never studied German but would love to. I have to say I can't wait for this trip! The planning, language lessons, buying, packing, and chatting with my Dis-shipmates really help me. I might go crazy  with anticipation otherwise. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I'm off to Monterey, Ca for a conference this weekend. The weather should be just gorgeous! :woohoo: :cool1: So it will be hard to be indoors all day. I plan to get up early and walk along the beach so I can enjoy the weather!!!

Have a good weekend! :hippie:
I loved Monteray, wish I was going!

Lots to arrange yes, but what fun!!!

What you up to this weekend marilyn?

Well, went to Magic Kingdom this morning and got back to the resort before the rain started!! Been pouring down all afternoon, so a bit room bound. Thinking about food right now!!!

No parks this weekend as it is President's Day W/E, though we might change our minds. Picking up a car tomorrow, so can go to Walmarts. Proper shopping on Sunday.;)

What about you? Are you having to work?

So, no way are we getting what the North East did, but for us, an inch or 3 is enough to close things down...

Glenn and I are both from the midwest (Chicago area and Columbus OH area) so we have seen much more than what we are getting - however, for the kids, this is the most either has seen and Stephen is about to turn 13.

Needless to say - they are loving it!

This is out on the back deck... Somehow when I think of our deck and the tiki torches a different picture comes to mind... You know - the one that includes a Conch Cooler...

snow_front_house.jpg

This is the front of our house. The snow that has fallen is heavy and wet... Perfect for snow men... First though, the kids need to finish the fort on the back deck...

Love the snow pictures! But please keep the snow down in the south! It's supposed to hit us in Virginia again on Monday.

I lived in Atlanta from 1991 - 1996 (and Athens, GA the 2 years before that) so I was there for the Blizzard of '93 that hit in mid-March That was my first time being in a major snowstorm in the south (I'm a virginia girl by birth) and it was amazing how it shut the entire city down for so many days.

I work with folks from Dallas and Florida, who have been rubbing their weather in our face the past week. It was somewhat nice to see the tables turned!

Be safe! Atlanta is nuts in any weather, but especially snow and ice.

Too funny, locals!! :lmao:

Oh, Monterey is one of our favorite places! Sneak out of the conference for a bit and do a little walking around. We won't tell!! ;) So much history there and you just follow a route thru the town. The first theater in CA (still has melodramas), Constitution Hall where the CA constitution was signed, Larkin House - the first governor of CA, Robert Lewis Stevenson House, and many more historic buildings!!

I didn't realise you have to stay all weekend at work. We will all keep you company!

I think we go to the Walmart down near Buena Vista Factory stores. John loves going. I like the idea more than the actual event and get fed up after 5 minutes!! I drag him back out pretty quickly!! However, needs must.:headache: For food I prefer Publix:):)

I still need to catch up on a couple of days' worth of posts, but wanted to wish everyone an enjoyable time watching the Winter Olympic's Opening Ceremony! We're a wonderfully diverse group here, so it's nice to have yet another way to bond together!

:welcome: to those just joining us!

I feel I'm starting to sound like a broken record but you want to put your name down for potentially sharing ground transport from Barcelona area hotels to the port please PM me - we now have 44 interested bods.

Question 2 -> You wont find it too hard. Even in Cadiz ~(Which is a lot more Spanish than Barcelona) the language barrier wasn't an issue! Alot of things are on display and you can always point (as we did in Ben and Jerrys)

Practise charades at every opportunity with your family and you'll be fine :) I think one of the funniest things we ever did in Indonesia trying to get canned insect killer spray for our hotel room and even harder was going into a pharmacy in Viet Nam and trying to ask for a large bandaid type plaster - we managed in both cases. Viet Nam is particularly tricky as the language has 6 tones so even the very basics come out wrong. Barcelona will be a breeze I'm sure :) Pointing and smiling goes a long way.

Good morning everyone and happy weekend :goodvibes:goodvibes

you know what that means don't you ..... countdown time :goodvibes

Only 31 weeks until we will be on board the Disney Magic !!!!

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

I'm working too ..... a late shift today and a nightshift tomorrow night :scared1: It's taken me a week to recover from my last night shift so I anticipate being knackered for all of next week too. Looking forward to the 19th when I start almost 2 weeks off :goodvibes:goodvibes

I love shopping in Walmart but I can never find anything .... it takes ages as everything seems to be all over the place and it is soooooo enormous. We get lost all the time :rotfl::rotfl:
