How about something new to pass the time?

How about our own Disney trivia challenge? Every Friday I'll post a Disney related question. We'll see who comes up with the correct answer. I'll post the answer on the following Friday with the next question. Reply via PM.

Which of the Seven Dwarfs leads the charge up the mountain after the disguised Queen?

Jon

Hello All -

My DW and I will be joining you on this cruise to bring the Magic home to Port Canaveral.

We live in Cleveland Ohio and have very similar snow to some of you. It seems as though the east coast got hit a lot harder this time around. We only got about a foot to 18 inches of the white stuff. But it has been cold. It has not been above freezing in about a month.

Have you all made your own flight reservations to BCN? I was doing some checking and could not find a price less than what the air add-on is. What have been your flight costs?

Looking forward to seeing everyone in September.

Dale

It's never too late to say :welcome:

Ann :flower3:

Thanks for all the information about the flights you have already booked. I guess I will just keep checking and see what I can get as we get closer to the sail-away party.

Sparky47 - Sounds like we are in the same boat - no pun intended. :rotfl2:
Are you an east sider or a west sider?

I would rather they answered in English!! It is one thing working out your question in a foreign language, but it is another trying to understand their reply in their language.:rotfl2:

How should we respond to this question Jon ... post our answer, send you a PM or just do it mentally?

Hi everybody. The German school my children attend told us last week that we can have permission to take the kids on the cruise, HOWEVER if we do so Marika will have to repeat 8th grade:headache: It does not seem to matter what her grades are or if she is caught up or not--they will just start her in 8th next year because she will be missing two weeks:confused3 Sooooo, as much as it breaks my heart to miss this one and not sail with all of you wonderful people (I am especially upset to not be sailing with Erik and Jason now--it is hard only seeing your good friends once in a blue moon and then giving that up) we have had to reconsider. We moved the reservation to the May 26 med cruise as that falls during the two weeks Marika and Rio are out for spring break (yes that is late--but summer does not start until July 31).
I hope you all have a lovely, lovely time on the TA. Oh, and lanyard team, no worries, I will get the info on to Erik.
Wow, you've been with us from the beginning. I got to experience moving to Germany with you:sad1:. Well have a great time on your med cruise!
I'm thankful I send my son to a Friends school, because public schools in New Jersey are the same way with too much absences.

Welcome aboard! :welcome:
I also used tripadvisor to find my flights, but I'm going to London for a few days before hitting BCN. Even though I booked my hotels and all, I'm still worried about getting from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel to the port.

OMG you mean you are actually supposed to have met your friends in real life? I often say I'm traveling with a few hundred friends I haven't met yet.

:lmao::rotfl:We too often refer to our several hundred best internet friends. :surfweb: Our "other life" friends and family think we are nuts.:crazy2: Although we have converted one DD who is now also a DISer. :disrocks: :thumbsup2 She is on Castaway Cay today. :beach: I am hoping the weather is good for them. I checked and Nassau is rainy with thunderstorms this afternoon.

I am in the same situation as many of the previous postings. We are on the WB Transatlantic cruise and have not booked our OW air yet. We would be flying out of Detroit Metro (Detroit MI-DTW) and landing up at some point in Barcelona.

We are a total party of five (one group of 3 + group of 2) and we do have hotel room reservations in Barcelona for the 17th of September. So we will probably have to leave out of Detroit on the 16th.

Prices have been jumping all around and I am beginning to get nervous...should I be nervous at this point? Any help or input will be GREATLY appreciated! I know you guys are the experts just from reading quite a bit of this thread!!

Who hasn't booked airfare yet? This so not me, I normally book the day the schedule opens, but this trip, I am so not sure.

I did a lot research last year doing test flights for September '09. And saw flights at about $550, with one stop.

Today was a vacation day for me, we have to use up our days by April 30th. So I did some searching and found;
(JFK-BCN 09/16/10);

Aer Lingus for $591.00, one stop via Dublin, booked direct with the airline. (website showing sale fares up to June 15, a sign to wait?)

Air France for 562.00, no stops, booked on airfare.com (?) The same flight is over 2000.00 on Kayak, Air France and Travelocity. I believe this is actually a Delta code share flight. I haven't ever book via any site other then direct with an Airline, so this kind of worries me, just by virtue of the unknown.

I am thinking that sometime in the next 30 days I will book, fingers crossed. Perhaps I should check in with the campus TA and see what they can do.

ooooohhhh .... I know that one ......

"Dos Cervezas por favor."

Probably the only Spanish phrase I know other than ...

"Donde esta los cabanos" .... which I think is " where are the bathrooms"

Both essential phrases in my opinion :rotfl:

I need to learn this one...

Si us plau puc tenir un margarita?
(May I have a Margarita please?)

And this one...

pot suggerir un vi negre local per provar?
(can you suggest a local red wine to try?)

I think they both may come in handy... :thumbsup2

And when you're done just add
"La cuenta, por favor"
(the check, please)

I am with you on this one! If they answer back in Spanish I am afraid I would just give them a blank stupid stare. Dennis can tell them how to take their medication in Spanish though if that will help. :thumbsup2 Phrases he learned over the years in pharmacy. :) We will, of course, thank them and say please in the native language of the county though. :thumbsup2

Aer Berlin is under $500 JFK-BCN. As long as I have air booked by final payment I'm not worried. That gives me plenty of time to hope for a sale, and if airfare does something outrageous before then I can still postpone the trip. Not that I want to postpone, mind you, but if it ends up that air will cost me $1000 I'll be bumping this till May 2011.

Gracies! These should come in handy. I also need to learn this phrase: Si us plau puc tenir sangria? (May I have Sangria?)

With the language discussion, I realized that we will also need to communicate a bit during our few hours in Zurich. Luckily that is German primarily and we both took a bit of German way, way back. Me in high school, DrHug in college. We should be able to at least remember how to say thank you and please and recognize the numbers for the gate departure. :thumbsup2

It will be as if you're both locals. :thumbsup2 I've never studied German but would love to. I have to say I can't wait for this trip! The planning, language lessons, buying, packing, and chatting with my Dis-shipmates really help me. I might go crazy  with anticipation otherwise. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I'm off to Monterey, Ca for a conference this weekend. The weather should be just gorgeous! :woohoo: :cool1: So it will be hard to be indoors all day. I plan to get up early and walk along the beach so I can enjoy the weather!!!

Have a good weekend! :hippie:

Thanks everybody for snow reports and pics:scared1:

Sarah, I think probably 1 night is worse than 7 in a row, Ive done nights for 10 years now, I think thats why I can handle jet lag better than most, I do it every week!

Also Sarahs..........................

Ive booked flights to go to manchester in may, I know its ridik, it was 60 each return!!!!! cheaper than train, and we could not be bothered driving as we would not want to drive in manchester.
We are super excited about meeting yo.
LAst night the vet said " why are you going to manchester"
I said "to meet friends" she said "they must be good friends"
I never told we had never met incase she thought I was mad:confused:

Well Im still having trouble sorting out getting to Manchester! God I didn't realise how far it is. Going to have to look at flight options too I think!

We can't wait to meet you all ..... LOL at the good friends comment. I get that all the time when I tell people about my internet friends ... and I actually have more in common with my internet Disney friends as some of my local friends and work colleagues just don't get it :confused3

Im with you on this one lol!

Hi Dale. Welcome.

As were from the UK things are a little different here. Hopefully someone will be able to give you an idea about prices. American Airlines wasn't it had a sale on?

For all you peeps learning Spanish

I dont want to be a miserable cow but you do know they will answer you back in English if you talk to them in Spanish:confused3
They are so mean in the main europe cities.
This has been what Ive found anyway, anybody found anything differant?

I have to say you do sometimes get this. I think they feel they are being helpful. I find this alot more with French people however!

Hey-

I had an extra crappy day: Got served (along with some co-workers) for a totally frivolous and asinine lawsuit for $750,000. It's not related to any clinical work or professional duties, just a stupid retaliatory nonsense suit as payback for reporting abusive behavior of a local person to a very disenfranchised young woman, that nonetheless will require hours and hours of meetings with lawyers, compiling evidence, and just refuting the idiocy. I am sooooo going to need my vacation (I am usually a very laid-back, easy-going crunchy-granola knitter- this is way too much drama!) I have never been served before (and hope to never be again!)

Arrghhhhhh. I want to hide under my quilt after a long bath (no bathtub for another 2 weeks).

On the plus-side: we are fairly snow-free! The pictures I have been seeing posted are wonderful and wild! I'm sorry for all the inconvenience it is causing some of you.

Oh God not good!
