Welcome back Hadley. I'm exhausted just reading about everything you did and still have to do!

I agree, it's almost impossible to pick a very favorite. I'd have to pick a favorite from each park, and that wasn't the game, so I'll pass for now. ;)

Hope everyone is having a terrific Holiday Season!!!

No fair passing!!! (why isn't there a stamping foot smiley?;) ) Post the list!

Hi everyone! DH and I are on this cruise. ... Looking forward to another fun cruise!:thumbsup2

No need for an invitation; jump on in, the water's fine :cool1: If you haven't booked this cruise yet, these :goodvibes people may just change your mind.

QOTW: Favorite rides

Old and gone: I loved the shows at Disney/MGM - Hunchback of Notre Dame, Jungle Book

Tower of Terror :scared1:
Rock 'n Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith :thumbsup2
Philharmagic :3dglasses
Buzz Light Year - can't get past that first level
The French movie in World Showcase at Epcot (even tho' it is 30 years old)
Space Mountain - at Disneyland (@ WDW is too shaky)

Welcome home, Hadley and family!!!

Wow...6 weeks Hadley! OMG!!! :scared1:

How did the kids like Germany? Are they excited?

Welcome to the newcomers...it's been a crazy couple of days around here. We had a small snow/ice storm yesterday which was a pain (but got me out of work a bit early...well it would have been earlier had I not locked myself out of my car with the car running!) and I was actually doing some Christmas things so I didn't get on here very much. I've been reading, just not posting!

We're supposed to have another snow/ice/rain event tomorrow...fun fun!!! :)

Talkiing about lines, we loved the Hulk at universal, we stayed at hard rock hotel and got front of line passes, itwas real ace, I like going there after the disney cruise.

This is the one ride Dan wished he done as we stayed in Hard Rock with the front of line passes but unfortunately that was the day I got food poisoning so we didn't get on it!

Hi everyone! DH and I are on this cruise. It will be our sixth DCL cruise, unless we take another before then (we live near Port Canaveral).

My favorite rides are at DLR...Pirates and Indy. Maybe it's because we have annual passes for WDW , but DLR seems so much more magical to us.

Looking forward to another fun cruise!:thumbsup2

Welcome Allie! Can't believe you are lucky enough to live near PC! I think I'd be on the cruise every day lol

Hi everyone. So much activity. So overwhelming. Does anyone want to be my Face Book friend? ;) I have like 3 friends on there. Much easier to keep up!

Hiya! I'm on face book too - although I keep forgetting to go on there lol!

Hi everybody! I am finally recovered from the jet lag and general exhaustion caused by seeing 22 apartments, 2 schools, 2 visa attorneys, insurance reps and spending most of a day at Dave's new office all in 6 days (made WDW seem relaxing:lmao: ). Add to that that I have worked every day since I got home Wednesday night and this is the first chance I have had to sorta kinds catch up on the DIS. I am happy to report that we now have a sigend contract to move to Germany. We found a school for the kids and even signed a lease on a town home. We will board the palne for our new home exactly 6 weeks from today! YIKES that is not a lot of time to get a lot of stuff done (and throw birthday parties for both kids, and have Christmans:dance3:

Glad it went so well Hadley!

Thanks guys. The kids liked it pretty well--but they were so exhausted running around I don't think they got as good of a feel as they should have;) Marika is very, very excited about the school she will attend. It is a fantastic, top notch place and she looked like a kid in a candy store when we were touring it. Rio mostly loved how beautiful everything is. He is my scenery kid and ran to the top of each apartment right off the bat to check out the view. He's like, "I'm going to live 10 minutes fr oma castle--how cool is that?":rotfl:
Living in the middle of nowhere as we do now (5 miles from our small town) they both think it is really cool that they will be able to ride their bikes to school and take the tram places, etc..

Yes, we booked ages ago.

well about an hour ago i took one step outside on to my steps, the steps were icy and i went face first into a thorn bush. at least the bush protected my fall. i had about 10 quarter inch thorns on my left hand. some of them all the way in. my right hand didnt get any punishment. my face is all scratch up looks like i been into a fight with a cat. than my left leg a few inches below the knee is a bruised and a little swelling. my sweatshirt is ruined got a big whole in it, and the pants i was wearing got a whole will now become work pants. i can tell my chest and shoulders i will be feeling it tomorrow. my wife and i was going to go to lancaster tomorrow. hopefully we can still go if im not in too much pain. we only live 2 hours away from lancaster but never been there. my rccl cruise in three weeks is looking a whole lot better now.
well call me crazy im getting ready to go out again. this time being more careful.

Gosh that sounds aweful, hope your better tomorrow, not worse.
Our ice and snow are finally all gone today,it rained all night and is 48 right now.:woohoo: However where my daughter lives its still snowing and icy. We may not make it there for Christmas day due to the weather.

Hadley, WOW what a whirl wind you've been through and only 6 weeks to get pakced, moved and 2 birthday parties and Christmas. I think you need alittle Disney magic to get through all of that pixiedust: pixiedust:
Best wishes for your new home.

Since our snow is gone i have alot to get done today,
I'll check back tomorrow and see whats happening here,

Kathy

Take care!!!!! throw some salt out first. the hole in my knee from my " Lynne v ice" moment 2 weeks ago has nearly filled in now!!

:scared1: Eek! Not a fun snow day for you. I hope you heal well and enjoy the cruise to feel better.

It is snowing like crazy here today.
We went into church and it was just starting to snow. We left, and we had at least 5-6 inches on the car. (ok, we had a Christmas breakfast so it was an hour longer than usual, but still!

It is still coming down.

My Inlaws still don't have power from last weeks ice storm. They have heat, so that is good, but they are in the dark. They have a grill and some camping lanters (old, very old camping lanters :scared1: )

Today we are finishing up the last of the Christmas gifts we are making, then we will finish the wrapping tomorrow night and we will be DONE! :cheer2:

I'm so glad the kids are excited! I can imagine that Rio is excited to live close to a castle (I think that is so cool!!) and that Marika will love her new school. Do you think you'll ever have a chance move back to the states?

OMG! That is horrible! If you're talking about Lancaster, PA, you must live somewhere near me. We were supposed to have a Christmas gathering with some extended family today but that was canceled due to the ice. So I'm not sure what we're going to do today...

FAVORTIE RIDES.....?????

Well the entire family loves Pirates - DL version
but my favorite is Soarin' over California in DCA
DD agrees with me but adds Small World and Peter Pan
DH - Soarin Over California is a distant second to Pirates
DS - Screamin, Space, Toy Story

We prefer DL to WDW but love them both very much. Our family rides the rides until the last day. On the last day of every trip, we walk in the parks and look and watch everything. There is so much detail to see/hear/smell that you miss when racing to rides. My kids enjoy it too - perhaps that is our favorite - the Disney difference!

Shirley

A few folks have said DL pirates, why is that? is it differant? might have to try it myself next year.

Yes it's different....it's much longer....there's everything pretty much from the WDW version PLUS more...and it actually sails around a cool restaurant where the diners can see your boat and vice versa (similar to the Mexican boat ride in Epcot that goes past the diners...only cooler)

We have only been to DL once, but there were several things we liked better there than WDW and vice versa....so it's definitely worth it to experience both the FL and CA parks!!
