Snow and christmas decorations at Castaway Cay, doesn't really work for me.

So I have a TA question for those who have done it before. I love CC but wonder just how depressing it is to get there on a TA, cruise more or less over. Sorry negative thought as a result of boredom at work.

Incidentally favorite character Elizabeth Swann, admittedly not because of the character but the actress who plays her

Its just occured to me DW will read this, so love you much more DW XXXX

CC is generally the last stop on most seven day cruises, so it will be fairly familiar to most who have cruised DCL before. Although it is still kind of depressing to leave CC and have to have your bags packed within hours.

To all who gave such helpful advise. We changed our Ressie to the WB Transatlantic today. We also booked a really expensive hotel through disney for the night before called the AB Skipper. The Hotel rec'd great reviews! I will be checking for a cheaper rate nextyear, but wanted to have a back up plan!

I am so excited:rotfl:

Has anyone else been pacing the floor wanting to book air and hotel now- just to get it over with?

Is anyone flying with Disney?

Thank You all again :cloud9:

I think yes and no. You know how when you come come from vacation, you really don't want to leave....but at the same time it's good to be home? I think it will feel like that.

Welcome Aboard!

We are booked at Le Meridien for our prestay.....it is pricey, but great reviews and right on Las Ramblas. We booked Air as well, just to have it out of the way and not have to worry about it...so far tho haven't found any cheaper.

How many nights are you staying at Le Meridien?:cutie:

We are the gifts on "Christmas morning family" but we always got to open 1 each on Christmas Eve. It was always pajamas. My mom did that so we would look good and having on matching pjs in the pictures on Christmas morning.

Right now 2, but waitlisted for a 3rd....not sure why would have to waitlist for a 3rd this far out....but, what TA said.

we should also book 2 days. We would love more time to explore Spain! WI am wondering if we can set up our own tours the day we embark.... or would Disney require us to stay on the ship until they have completed the infamous "drill".:confused3

We put our stuff on the ship the first day in Barcelona and left, missing the muster drill. We LOOOOOOVE Barcelona!

We also left Daniel, our 2 year old on the dock, when we came back, and everyone thinking someone else had him, was totally surprised when security was following him to our room. Luckily he knew the ship well, since he'd already been on 3 cruises at that point, including another TA.

They were going to leave him Barcelona, not knowing to whom he belonged, or whether his parents were on or off the ship.

I still shudder.

SO when you leave the ship, make sure everyone comes back with you!

Random question for Woody (or anyone else who has spent time at DLP). Rio would like to know if they have hair wrap stands there like they do at WDW?

I have never seen any and I have just come back from my 4th trip to DLP. However, I have always been in winter and I am not sure if they have hair wrapping stands during the summer months

Its just occured to me DW will read this, so love you much more DW XXXX

Somebody is in so much trouble when I finally catch up with him ;)
I am on the graveyard shift and DH gets up to no good

My favorite holiday tradition is our dinner on Christmas Eve. When I was a kid we used to do a huge Italian/American Christmas Eve with all the different kinds of fish and the whole family would be there. Over the years the family has dispersed - some of us live in different states/cities and some have no contact with each other for various reasons - so that it is now only DH, DS and I but every year we go to 4 pm mass at our church and then come home and do a small fish dinner - shrimp cocktail, stuffed clams, linguini with clam sauce and maybe a piece of salmon or something for the guys.

Some other fun traditions - watching Miracle on 34th St, Scrooge (with Allistar Sim), It's A Wonderful Life, Holiday Inn, White Christmas, any Rankin/Bass cartoon!, baking cookies and giving them as gifts to co-workers, using our Mickey Mouse holiday dishes, listening to holiday music and last but not least going out as a family and picking out our tree and then decorating it.

On the Wonder they have the gingerbread house up on deck 4 stuck in a corner :confused3 :confused3 they moved it because of photopass

They have photopass on the Wonder now? When did they start that?

I liked the gingerbread house in that alcove area under the stairs.

We were on the Nov 30th cruise and they were doing a scaled down version they still had pictures in Shutters also.

I don't know that Jason and I have any specific holiday traditions other than decorating our Tigger tree (already done) and visiting Jason's family. We usually drive down on Xmas eve and stay with his parents for a few days. His step-sister always hosts a brunch at her house for the whole family on Xmas morning and we go there and eat and open some gifts. Usually we come home and have our own little Xmas with our gifts for each other then...climb into our pajamas and watch movies!!! :)

We have not seen hair wrap stands at DLP, though we weren't actually looking for them.

Thanks for the information:thumbsup2 Rio will be so disapointed:sad2: He had visions of being able to get a hair wrap every 3 months or so (they last that loing on him) and never having to go without:rotfl2:

I am loving reading about everyone's holiday traditions. I am craving latkes now:love: 12 days from now we will make latkes and play dreidle mmmmm

In the meantime--I won't be posting for a week or so as we fly to Germany tomorrow to look at schools and apartments. We are so excited. I doubt any of us will sleep much tonight (kinds like the night before a trip to WDW or DCL).

Welcome aboard! We are also traveling w/Disney. We decided that it was the safest thing to do to avoid problems w/transfers, flights, etc. (We've heard a lot of horror stories about delayed flights, missed transfers, etc. when overseas.) Be sure to check out page 1 of the thread for great info.

BTW, who's traveling and what are your names?

Wow, Hadley, how fantastic! I hope everything goes smoothly. Good luck and bon voyage!
