We're from South Eastern Wisconsin - near Lake Geneva. I checked out the cool Google map and saw some folks nearby in Illinois, but no one in Wisconsin yet.

Our table mates on our last cruise were from Wisconsin but I can't remember where. Will have to find out

Funny, it is our least favourite park as well. We always go for Fantasmic though (that is Dave's favourite thing at WDW), and do enjoy the shows, animation class, etc--just not as magical as everywhere else. I could see us skipping it all together if Fantasmic were ever to close.
We enjoyed Toy Story Mania but didn't LOVE it the way everyone else seems to:confused3 We liked the interactive concept a lot, but didn't care so much for everything being basically a big computer screen (as opposed to the 3-D figures in Buzz Lightyear, etc.). If the ride were as cute as the queue area that would be something else;)

lol Yeah I can see where you are coming from on this as I assumed it would be like Buzz. I love the fact its like carnival games for the wii though as I'm sad lol No I just think the ideas behind it are fantastic! Could do with maybe some 3d character touches within the ride though I agree

I love the Toy Story ride! I even asked Scott if we could get some arcade games for the WII.

The park we don't like is Animal kingdom, except for 3 rides...Everest, the safari, and the whirl (??? that little rollercoaster in Dino Land.)

AH Get Carnival Games! It has stuff like Toy Story Mania on it - Ring Toss and Balloon Darts and some other ones too! It's fantastic and the more points you get the more items you can customise you character with! I am currently a girl ninja with elephant feet, a sherif badge and a clown hat lol! It's great fun honest!

See now Animal Kingdom is so much more me as I'm an animal girl (Environmental Biology means I see the place as some sort of miracle I think lol). It's just so nice to see animals in as close to nature as that and especially with some animals that you would never see in the wild such as the anteater! I could spend hours just riding the safari in hope of seeing a cheetah or a lion! I know its not the same as them being in the wild but for some animals parks are the only choice and unlike a zoo Disney does a lot for the animals to ensure that they are as close to wild as they can be!

:welcome: onboard Kelly.
No, in Germany Christmas is celebrated on Christmas Eve rather than on Christmas Day. In Southern Germany the Three Wise Men come around to bless the house on January 6th. They write their initials and the year with chalk over the door which is meant to bring good luck. They also tend to collect money for charity on their way round.

Corinna

Ah I see. There are a lot of places that celebrate the 6th in Europe so wasn't sure. It's quite a nice idea celebrating the day the wise men came.

We live just outside of San Antonio TX. It is freezing here today (41 was the high)!

I signed up for roll call, lanyard and the google map. Not sure whether I will do the FE or Mickey gifts. I am going to do the FE on the Podcast cruise, see how it works out, and go from there.

Thanks for all the help!:goodvibes

Cool. I think that's everything then.

Never been to San Antonio but my cousin is working in Houston at the moment and Dan's aunt lives over there so we've seen lots of pics of Texas and it looks really pretty. It's on our to do list!

Seeing the beautiful snowy ponies (which are beautiful!), I thought I'd just show off about the temperature, its currently 87F=31C outside right now. I've just been for a walk and its pretty darn warm! Anyone wanna come for a mini-meet? :rotfl:

Tomorrow is going to be even warmer apparently - unfortunately I have a busy day tomorrow moving a client's servers to a new building so its going to be hot, sweaty and dusty work - can't wait :rotfl2:

Well tomorrow we're expecting snow! God its way too cold! Just feel sorry for those up in Scotland (Lynne we're thinking of you having to take Orly out)!

Hi All. If I stop makaing sense (no not the music group:lmao: ) midway through this post please forgive me. We had "rented" our house and found out tonight that has fallen through. So, I am in rather a panicked state knowing that we have no renteres lined up and are leaving in 28 days and going to be paying rent and a mortgage and school fees and not having any clue how to pull THAT off. I am trying to distract myself from the nigthmare by DISsing (not working all that well:sad1: )

Hadley I am so sorry! Do not panic too much. Just remember things happen for a reason and I am sure that you will end up in a much better place out of this

 Hadley  I'm so sorry to hear this news! I hope you find another responsible tennant really really soon!

Okay...all of the animal photos many of you have posted are just too stinkin' good! Thanks for sharing!

We are expecting ICE this morning, so I need to get running to work before that hits, which apparently is right around the corner.

Even though I wanted to cry myself to sleep last night (those poor Buckeyes), I'll say "have a great one everybody!"

Being in scotland not sure why you are crying but, buck up girl it could be worse:rotfl:

:rotfl: I guess I didn't STOP making sense, I didn't even START to make it;)
We DO have somewhere to live in Germany. A lovely townhome we signed a lease on last month. What we do not have is anyone renting our place here--meaning we will be paying the mortgage for our home in New Hampshire with no rent money comming in to cover it AND paying for the townhouse in Germany (and the kdis school tuition which I was already worreid about:eek: ). So basically I am stressing about $$$$ like most everyone else in this economy:rolleyes1

I am glad the wedding plans are commin along nicely and I look forward to seeing lots of posts from you while you are recovering:goodvibes

No, I think you were totally clear...me on the other hand, i'm a bit ditzy at times! LOL!!!!

I hope everything works out, Hadley!

Morning fellow shipmates,
I have a question and i hope someone can answer for me.

If you've flown over seas before maybe you can answer.

I am not much of an experienced flyer, so this may sound dumb but here goes.

I know for over seas flights the airplanes are larger than the jets we flight from state to state on.
Does coach on the larger airplanes have more leg room than the MD80's or 757 I have flown on?

Thanks for your help.

I love the puppy and horse pictures. They are all so cute!!!:goodvibes

Yes , most planes flying over the ocean have more leg room ...take it from me who is long legged (almost 6 ' 2" ) your concern was mine when we flew to Barcelona last year for the TA , and I am happy to say that yes there was a little more leg room .. Hope this helps

Thankyou,
I will take every inch we can get.:goodvibes
We may try to get a seat by the emergency exit if we can. They typically have even more room. my husband has long legs and planes really are uncomfortable for him.
I'm sure 1st class would be way out of my price range, so its good to know they have a bit more room,

thanks again,
Kathy

On the leg-room questions for transoceanic flights, it's not always the case that you have more leg room on these airplanes. Sometimes, yes...but it can vary widely by airline, fleet within an airline, and where exactly your seat assignment is on the plane itself.

A decent reference is www.seatguru.com, although not always 100% accurate.

That pony is adorable, do you show them, I like to ride Murphy (the big one) In a few weeks he will be clipped and back to work. He is 15.2, I have had him since 1 years old, he is nearly 13 now!!
The little one is actually on loan from a horse charity, although you can buy a shetland for 50 pounds! I took her as nobody wants to take them on loan and I am a sucker as she(Marcy Baby) was 26 when we got her!!! We had just lost our 32 year old and I dont think my heart was ruling my head when we were needing a friend for Murphy.

Hadley, sorry, but things usually always work out, I am sure it will be fine, just a bit more stress for you to endure!! and then it will be cool!

Nope,Mom doesn't show anymore(too much money involved) and sorry to say that we wouldn't be able to show Buddy as he had an injury to his right eye which caused it to go blind.
