Hello, everyone!

Hope everyone is having a happy, healthy new year so far.

Today, my most dear husband turns the Big 4-0. We celebrated with a jumbo-sized bag of Pay Days and trips to the grocery store and vet. What a big day for him! (Seriously, he does get a 2-week cruise in October! It's not all bad.)

I have a question: like many of you, I booked on the first day the TA cruise became available, 10/14. I am going on the Wonder though in April for a quick fix. What are the chances that they'd let me act like I booked the TA onboard the Wonder to get an OBC for the TA? It doesn't look like the prices have gone up. Anyone have experience with this?

I love the snow, so does orly, so much so weve spent a fortune going to switzerland sking on thursday:rolleyes:
Orlys sister came last week, two puppies, one is going to prague to be showed the other is orlys sister, we will go in a few weeks to pic which one, although I dont care.

Rebooking on board should not be a problem. Talk to them, do the price comparison and they rebook the cruise if it is less expensive. Every time we have done this we get the same stateroom. The only difference is the lower cost, on board credit, and the reservation number changes.

Welcome to Texas! Is it cold where you are right now? I am in San Antonio, and right now it is in the high 30s:eek: Hopefully by the time you get over this way it will be a little warmer. Hope you enjoy your time here.:goodvibes

Thanks for the welcome. :goodvibes We are in Balmorhea State Park last night and tonight, just waiting for the wind to get a bit better for RVing. Looks like tomorrow we will be able to head out. San Angelo and then over your way to San Antonio. We can't be this close and not see The Alamo. ;) I was born in Texas, many, many years ago and although we moved when I was 2, my grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins were still in the Texas Panhandle so we visited there often. There is ALOT to see in this state though. We plan to spend another 4 or 5 days before we head on over to Florida. WDW is calling our names!! :woohoo: :yay:

Be sure to walk along the River Walk while you are here, very enjoyable. We have lived here for over 8 years and really like it. Like the bumper sticker says, "I wasn't born here, but I got here as fast as I could.":rotfl:

Say hi to Mickey for me when you get to the World.

Paul, my hubby would love to go to newzealand, one of these days we will have to come!! We had friends that went to stay, they keep saying come visit, so many places so little pounds!!

And I guess Disney wins usually too LOL

You'd find it so cheap here - $NZ1 is currently 40 pence ($NZ1=$US58) and mostly items sell for the same face value, so things would be less than half price for you... Sigh, that is why we don't go to the UK, even the US is expensive for us a the moment.

In the middle of last year $NZ1 was $US0.80 so it wasn't near as painful as it is now travelling overseas. Still I can't whinge too much, at least I can afford to go overseas ...

Morning fellow shipmates,

I know for over seas flights the airplanes are larger than the jets we flight from state to state on.
Does coach on the larger airplanes have more leg room than the MD80's or 757 I have flown on?

Usually though it can vary a lot from airline to airline. I've been on some with lots of a leg room and some with very little - and I'm only 5' 4" so if I am cramped, its cramped!

Being in scotland not sure why you are crying but, buck up girl it could be worse:rotfl:

:rotfl2: You are right!

In the States, we're in a period of college football (the brown oval balls, not the round black and white ones :) ) Bowl Games. These are post-season games, with one of them being a National Championship title game. (Unfortunately this year we were not in the National Championship game though.)

Well, our Ohio State University Buckeyes were unfavored to win, yet they pulled themselves ahead of our opponent with 2 minutes left in the game. Then with 16 seconds left in the game, we lost. :sad1:

So like you said, "buck it up, Kimberly", because it's only a game. :upsidedow

Okay...so now you got more than you ever wanted to read, I'm sucking it up and keeping quiet!

:cake: Happy Birthday to the big man!

To the PP who asked about rebooking- when I changed my sail date in Dec. the price had gone up about $140 pp from the first day for pax 1 and 2, however it didn't look like such a huge difference as there was no longer the fuel supplement surcharge. Guests who booked on day one have the fuel supplement. I had moved an onboard reservation but it's a suite so I didn't get 10% off- I did get the $200 obc though. As was mentioned, you can ask the onboard sales manager to cancel and rebook for you if the rate is better, but figure in the fuel supplement as it may end up being credited anyway-that depends on the price of a barrel of oil in 2010 though! Make sure you check on the actual cruise fare difference- it should be better though with the 10% off.---Kathy

Hey all I haven't had the chance to check in here much the past month...Life got crazy busy right around Thanksgiving and it has finally settled down some. I hope everyone is enjoying the New Year:cool1: :cool1: It is exciting to think that next year we will all be on the cruise together. I can't wait to start catching back up with all of you:goodvibes

My family and I did a cross country trip in 2005 and stopped in San Antonio and I LOVED the River Walk! We took the boat ride and it was amazing!

Hi Lisa!!!! Welcome back!

So, I have to be at the hospital at 6am tomorrow morning! We are having an ice storm tonight so I'm hoping it's not too bad. The car we are taking is in the garage so all we need to do is pull it out in the morning. I'm getting really nervous...I'm anxious for it to be over.

AMY--I popped on just to wish you all the best tomorrow. I hope those roads stay dry for you:hug: I will be thinking of you all day tomorrow:goodvibes

Hey Lisa:wave2: Nice to see you posting.

Thanks for all the good wishes guys. I am feeling better and stopped totally panicking. The house is up on Craig's List now:upsidedow It really did help last night just to feel like I was "talking" to friends about it here on the DIS. Thanks for that:grouphug:

Lynn--adorable photos:thumbsup2

Legroom--yeah it varies depending on the plane. Dave is 6'5" so he always notices any little bit extra (or less)

Thank you for the extra PD! I just said to my mom that I'm getting nervous. I mean, I have to be at the hospital in less than 8 hours - it just doesn't seem possible. At least it will be over with quickly!!

I'll let everyone know how it goes. :)

I forgot:
Hugs to Kimberly and any other Ohio (I think? Right Kimberly, that IS where you are located:rotfl2: I will never get this sports stuff figured out) fans.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Alex:wizard:

Thanks. If the reservation number changes, I am SOL. I think that counts as a cancellation, and suites can't cancel. Although, I could probably move my current TA to a new sailing, and then rebook the TA. But that sounds like too much thinking for me right now. But thanks for the help!
