Sept 18 2010 WB TransAtlantic Pirates/Capt Jacks Re-Repoing Repossession Cruise Pt.10

The last breakfast on the ship was full of hugs, tears and goodbyes. After 14 days together, none of us was in a hurry to get off the ship and it was hard to say goodbye.

Getting off the ship with our many, many bags was smoother than I thought with the help of a very nice lady porter. At Hertz, was in line right behind Sue and her family. Not happy with not receiving my usual Gold Counter service but was prepared as driver said they are not very good with Gold Customers.

We did a few hours in Epcot on Saturday after touring Golden Oaks. Both of us enjoyed doing some tasting at the Food and Wine Festival and having dinner at the Biergarten. Didn't see any fellow DISers but Epcot was very, very crowded!! Had to make a run to Walmart for a large duffel to stuff all our goodies in. While John stayed with the bellman, I checked in at the Hyatt. We had purchased gas on the way back to the hotel. Gas was only $2.65 a gallon and with the drop off now in the airport, it was a breeze. By the time, I returned the car and walked across the airport to our room, John and the bags were in our room.

John and I got home late Sunday afternoon. Samantha picked us up at the airport. Staying at the Hyatt at MCO makes checking into Southwest a breeze. We picked up breakfast sandwiches and Thai wraps for the flight home since our flight check in time was 9:50 AM. SWA is a pretzel and peanut run and though we had a stop, I knew we could not get off the plane.

Our flight on SWA was on time and very smooth. John and I had a direct flight with no plane changes and only one stop in Denver for about 45 minutes which is pretty unusual with SWA. We were able to snag the exit row seats with no one between us so PAL Mickey has his own seat!!

Sure was sad not to be joined at dinner by our table mates Mandy, Mark, Kerry, Tim, Karen and Paul. It seems very lonely at home now without all of them joining us for dinner.

Yesterday, I helped DD Samantha do some things to get ready for her LSAT this Saturday. I am going to drive her to the UC Santa Cruz location to check out the site on Thursday as is recommended. Still not completely unpacked but will finish today.

I have deposited us on board for next years WBTA Sept 10 and the Vancouver repo Sept 20 but will have to see if both fit with John's work schedule. One or the other may become our 2012 cruise but will depend on the 2012 itineraries.

John thinks this cruise was so great that to try to repeat it may be a disappointment. Anyone have any thoughts?

Also, I think we need to start a list for when everyone is cruising next year and post on the first page. What do you guys think?

ATTENTION ALL DANIEL TAXI MADEIRA CRUSIERS
Eusébia has asked me for feedback and pictures of the tour in Madeira. If anyone would please either email or PM me with their comments, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks for taking the time to read and respond to my post.

Oh! We were at MK on Saturday, stayed around Boardwalk area on Sunday. We really hope to see you before we leave and meet your husband. What have you planned for this weekend?

YEAH!! We will be at the Dolphin on Friday night, AKL on Saturday and Sunday. Sunday would be the best, but to get one of Dennis' hugs, any day!!:cool1:

WE GAVE NOTHING BACK!!

Here also, my Mom would have been a wreck worrying about us!

We are still at WDW so have not weighed yet, but I can tell you that the pants Dennis planned to wear to dinner the last night would not button!! And, I had to lay on my back on the bed to zip mine. :headache: This is not a pretty thing!:rotfl:

It was the setting the clock back night after night. It seemed like we were getting to sleep in, but after a couple of days we too started getting sleepy really early in the evening. Then we realized that just 3 days prior 8 pm was 11pm. Nice to get your sleeping back on a "normal" schedule though. :thumbsup2
Oh goodness- you're right. Why didn't I think about that? LOL That means towards the end when it was 10pm- my body thought it was 4am and that's about my bedtime normally. No wonder I was dragging at that point LOL

So far so good on my normal schedule. It's creeping later at night but I'll try to do better tonight. I went to bed at 12:30 last night but only because I got caught up in a movie that I couldn't watch in the bedroom (bedroom tv doesn't get that channel LOL) And up at 4:44 for some reason. TWO days in a row waking up at exactly 4:44 is beyond weird. LOL dozed off and on until 6:30 after that.

I think the whole time thing got me out of wack- or rather, back in wack after decades of being "off"? IDK But arriving at Barcelona with the 6hr time change and then like you said- turning the clock back so many times during the trip.... that must be what caused me to start sleeping at night. Usually on the cruises I'm definitely up past the time the teen stack closes and sometimes it was all night long! Not this cruise though.

does anyone else hate unpacking and washing clothes as much as I do? LOL
And I sure didn't miss the neighbor's howling hound either. :(

We had another great DIS day yesterday. We met up with Warren and Abby (SteamboatWill) at The Studios. Then we got to spend some time with Connie, Chuck, Patrick, Albert and Ann and then Tim and Kathy at EPCOT. The magic just continues! :goodvibes I think our plan today is Downtown Disney.

We haven't seen you anywhere and we are just across the water! Glad you are enjoying yourselves still.

Noel, I think there is always a big chance that trying to repeat something will end in disappointment. Everything was so perfect this cruise we can never expect the weather and seas to co operate so well again. But, we are willing to give it a good shot as there are so many other great things to enjoy and new friends to make, and all at a reasonable cost for a DCL cruise!!!!!!;) the service etc will be just as good too.

Well - finally home but now at work (guess I have to do something to pay for these cruises!). We stayed at WDW for two nights and then flew home yesterday. Flight was delayed an hour so it was 3PM by the time my sister dropped me off at home. Then we loaded Amy and Dave's luggage into my car where I drove them up to her parent's house (they kept their cars there for the duration). Since it was everyone's birthday (Amy, her twin sister and her mother share the same birthday - 04OCT and her father's is 03OCT), we went out to dinner to celebrate. They always go out to dinner on the 4th but this was the first time I joined them. We had a great time and I managed to finally get home and sit down to relax around 10PM. Then up at 5:30 for work - YUCK!

WE HAD AN ABSOLUTE FABULOUS TIME!!!! Thanks for everyone for all the hard work to make this such a memorable cruise!

Hey Sue - when's the next tasting??????

Marilyn, I can agree with you about the perfection of the cruise. I guess what I am worried that we had such a wonderful group that will we be disappointed in doing the same trip without the group. Our table servers were not the best so it can only be uphill for us!!

The group can be very important I know. Perhaps we will get to chat more than the short time over the ironing next time.;)

We did get to meet with the Geezers group most nights but with as large a group as we were with so many at different seatings and restaurants, it was inevitable we didn't have much time together. Maybe we will have more luck in connecting if there are smaller groups.

We only managed the Geezer meeting twice for various reasons. Yes, we will make time next year all being well.

Shall we put you in charge so we can be sure to see you two? Angie and Dennis seemed to be in charge this year.

Steffi, I was captivate by Simon ever time I saw him, wish I had been brave enough to come over and talk.

You gotta be kidding! Why didn't you!!!
I just wondered how we didn't met, but you saw us!!!

But I can understand you!!! I probably don't look like it, but sometimes I am pretty shy!

But I am really sorry we haven't talked!!!

Are you on Facebook? I wanna see, if I saw you!!!! :lovestruc

I agree. We had the best table mates! You all made the trip so enjoyable!

Well that might work, but I must decline. I am not the best person to be in charge of anything!!!!

And I was all ready to vote for you live from the Club America lounge at MIA.

Enjoyed the Boardwalk chat and drinks with you and John on Monday.

Yesterday evening we met up with Connie, Chuck, Patrick, Monica, Angie & Dennis in Epcot.

It is going to seem quiet at home tomorrow.

I was feeling a little down, after not seeing cruise friends for three days.

It was great to see my tablemates check in.

I saw Angie's post about seeing other WBTA DISers at WDW, then Magic struck and we ran into Dennis and Angie at France, in Epcot on Monday night. We also met Albert and Ann, and Monica.

How wonderful to get a little of that Magic back. Two more days at WDW, then back to reality.

Our next DIS opportunity will be Vancouver to LA repositioning cruise in Sept 2011.

Anyone else glad that the State Department waited until we were back from this trip to issue the Travel Alert for travel to Europe??

Me me me!!!! I would have been even more freaked out about flying if I had heard that before we left. Looks like the Magic came home just in time!

Richard I am sorry I never made it to a yoga class, but I really had to opt for something aerobic every morning, I never took an elevator once and I still gained 8 lbs:lmao: wish I had just went on the stupid things now!

Oh dear, I did take the elevator so I'm doomed! I'll find out on Thursday what damage was done. However, I did go right back on my diet today - I've never been so excited for steamed veggies and shrimp in my life! LOL!!!!

Hello everyone - what a FANTASTIC cruise! I cried when it was over. You all made it so special. Thanks for the FE gifts - loved them!!!! I did 8 loads of wash, but Sunday I went to the MK and ran into Amy and her husband. I was looking for Steffy, Angie and Dennis so hard, I thought my eyes would bleed. Penny, so sorry I missed your hug. Steffy, I was looking for you on Saturday when getting off the ship. Mandy, thanks for stopping by and chatting. Loved getting to know you better. Some people I didn't get a chance to meet, but let's all go back on another cruise and do it again!!!

Glenn, thanks for organizing football, even though it didn't go as planned. Saturday when I got home, that is all I did, sat on the couch and watched football. I was tired too.

If I knew we were going to be at MK, I would have added my name to the "fun" list. I do miss Geezers too, what great laughs we had.:lmao:

This cruise was amazing and I will never forget it. Please, if anyone is coming to the MK, please send me an e-mail. I would LOVE to meet up. I could go on and on, but I won't. THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES!!! Miss you all tons!!!!

It was so great to see you at MK! I was so surprised! We also ran into Terry and Stephanie during the MNSSHP which was great!

Well, I have to admit that it was nice to sleep in my own bed last night. I wish I could take my bed on vacation with me - that would be perfect!

I had a wonderful birthday - it stared at the Magic Kingdom in front of the Cinderella Castle at midnight. Dave took my picture so I can officially say I was at WDW on my birthday! As MagicMe said, we did have a great birthday dinner with my parent's and twin sister. Dave and I were so tired that we ended up taking birthday cake to go. We were both in bed by midnight!

I was on the Flickr account - is there a way to borrow pictures from it? I've only ever worked in Photobucket so I'm not sure how Flickr works.

I miss everyone already! What a great cruise we had!
