Sept 18 2010 WB TransAtlantic Pirates/Capt Jacks Re-Repoing Repossession Cruise Pt.10

Hello everyone from two very grateful first-time cruisers - and a special thank you for your kind birthday wishes, though leaving the Magic was not the best way to celebrate it!
I cannot believe how much fun, fun, fun we had and how great everyone was. A specially big hug goes to Chas and Gus who were the greatest dinner companions; and to our hostess, the lovely Elsa, and our servers Fernando and Igor who made us feel right at home on the high seas (though what kind of home has someone to pour your ketchup for you, I'm not sure). And then there's Brent, Dave and all the fantastic entertainments crew .. . . .
We enjoyed meeting everyone, though there was so much to do that I still can't put a face to every name. (If you are still not sure who we were, Dave was transformed into Hannah Montana by the hypnotist and seemed to like it so much that he has a long blonde wig on order (joke!)
We have booked again for the same trip next year (despite being adamant that we would do no such thing) and are planning an email campaign to persuade Chas and Gus to do the same.
Special thanks also to to Noel and Betty for organising our trips.
We are just packing to leave Orlando tomorrow (Thurs) and will be back in the UK on Friday.
Missing you all (and the ship), Jane & Dave.

The last breakfast on the ship was full of hugs, tears and goodbyes. After 14 days together, none of us was in a hurry to get off the ship and it was hard to say goodbye.

Getting off the ship with our many, many bags was smoother than I thought with the help of a very nice lady porter. At Hertz, was in line right behind Sue and her family. Not happy with not receiving my usual Gold Counter service but was prepared as driver said they are not very good with Gold Customers.

We did a few hours in Epcot on Saturday after touring Golden Oaks. Both of us enjoyed doing some tasting at the Food and Wine Festival and having dinner at the Biergarten. Didn't see any fellow DISers but Epcot was very, very crowded!! Had to make a run to Walmart for a large duffel to stuff all our goodies in. While John stayed with the bellman, I checked in at the Hyatt. We had purchased gas on the way back to the hotel. Gas was only $2.65 a gallon and with the drop off now in the airport, it was a breeze. By the time, I returned the car and walked across the airport to our room, John and the bags were in our room.

John and I got home late Sunday afternoon. Samantha picked us up at the airport. Staying at the Hyatt at MCO makes checking into Southwest a breeze. We picked up breakfast sandwiches and Thai wraps for the flight home since our flight check in time was 9:50 AM. SWA is a pretzel and peanut run and though we had a stop, I knew we could not get off the plane.

Our flight on SWA was on time and very smooth. John and I had a direct flight with no plane changes and only one stop in Denver for about 45 minutes which is pretty unusual with SWA. We were able to snag the exit row seats with no one between us so PAL Mickey has his own seat!!

Sure was sad not to be joined at dinner by our table mates Mandy, Mark, Kerry, Tim, Karen and Paul. It seems very lonely at home now without all of them joining us for dinner.

Yesterday, I helped DD Samantha do some things to get ready for her LSAT this Saturday. I am going to drive her to the UC Santa Cruz location to check out the site on Thursday as is recommended. Still not completely unpacked but will finish today.

I have deposited us on board for next years WBTA Sept 10 and the Vancouver repo Sept 20 but will have to see if both fit with John's work schedule. One or the other may become our 2012 cruise but will depend on the 2012 itineraries.

John thinks this cruise was so great that to try to repeat it may be a disappointment. Anyone have any thoughts?

Also, I think we need to start a list for when everyone is cruising next year and post on the first page. What do you guys think?

I completely agree Noel, the cruise was fantastic and all of you guys at dinner were wonderful, dinner with you all was definately one of the highlights of every day.
We saw John in the parking lot at Downtown Disney trying to sort all the bags out in the car while you were doing some more shopping :lmao: :thumbsup2

I wish you would have stopped and said hi to John. He was frantically tearing the car apart as he thought he couldn't find PAL Mickey. I was not actually shopping, just picking up our WDW tickets from Guest Services. He did eventually find PAL Mickey who was sitting in between the two front seats on the console where I told him I put him before he went to the car. John suffers from "selective hearing".

Thought you might enjoy the bag photo John took of me with the bags!!

We did stop and say hi, he was the one who said you had gone shopping lol. trying to park near the market place was a nightmare, I also got a free upgrade to a Chevvy Suburban so I had to find a space big enough lol. People kept waiting to pull into his space, because he was putting bags back into the trunk they all thought he was going

I guess he was so flustered about PAL Mickey he didn't even mention it to me!! No more shopping for me as you can see how many bags we had at that point. He wanted to take pictures while I was getting the tickets so I guess he assumed I would be shopping as well.

We both drive a Chevy Suburban at home so know about finding spaces to park them!! Many lots these days think everyone is driving a Smart Car!!

Even though we booked fairly late, I wanted to thank everyone for making our cruise so Magical. Thank you to all the people who sent an email to Lindsay with clues that she was going on the cruise. It was great meeting people who said 'so you're the girl we sent an email to'. The look on her face when she found out we were going on the cruise was priceless. The Champagne Ladies was so much fun to go to and meet so many new people. Thank you to our wonderful table mates, Erik, Jason, Jim, Michelle, Kimmy and Johanna, who made us feel so welcome. To the Strawberry Group, thank you for the great FE gifts. I do feel bad as I signed up for the postcard exchange and forgot to bring the postcards. Please PM me and I'll mail the postcard to you or we all have to book another cruise so I can give the postcards out. :rotfl2 It was great walking around Downtown Disney on Saturday and bumping into soooo many people from the cruise. This cruise may be over but the memories will last forever. Till we meet again.........

Does anyone have a template for the navagator? It was such a wonderful tool I would like to use it as a template for future cruises. If you could send it to me at RMVANDY@aol.com I would really appreciate it. Val

Well my post posted twice apparently, but I am going to leave them both up as I love it!!!!!

It is so good to hear from so many people and see pictures!!!

Yes, Geezers was fun and even though I felt like I was crashing the party - this group could make you laugh!!! If I had a choice between Rockin Bar D and Cove Cafe - the Cove would have won hands down!

Shmoo - I never had a chance to talk to you and thank you for the FE. It was greatly appreciated and was so cute on my door!

Melanie - it was so nice to see you and your husband all over the ship. It is amazing how you see some people all the time and people like Noel and Shmoo, I never saw or very rarely. Sarah (Gismo) never saw! I was sad!

It was soooo great to meet the few of you I got to. As a late comer there were only a few things I got to participate in, but that was great! I missed the PJ breakfast as I was sick with a sinus infection in my cabin....felt like I was dying, but Nyquil, Sudafed and Room Service helped a lot....I lost three days with that gunk!

It was a fantastic cruise and I think I'll be on the Wonder the end of August to Alaska. Anyone else going? There is a thread started but not many people on it yet....hope to see some of you then.

Thanks again for letting me join in late.....I can't say enough about how great this group is.

Happy Cruising and hope to see you soon!

Noel, will we have a post cruise meet somewhere in the Bay area????!!!!!!

Judy :dance3::dance3::dance3:

I agree that you keep running into some people, and never see others. It was great seeing so many of you all over and saying hello. Everyone was so friendly.

Judy - it was so fun talking to you and sorry to hear about your infection. I am happy to say that nobody contacted me because they were sick and needed my medication!! I hope the rest on the med list was just as lucky. Abby right now is talking to all her girlfriends that she met on the cruise. I don't think the Magic will ever stop when it comes to our dis friends!:)

After an awesome unbelievable Westbound Transatlantic cruise on Disney; spending time with my old Dis friends/family and making new friends; the reality hit on Monday when I had to go to work. Now, I'm getting ready to go for my cataract surgery. I have faith, trust but I'm missing one thing.......

Did anybody get any good pictures of Jodi Benson that they are willing to share? I didn't take any - well, one with my cell phone in which she looks like a ball of light.

I still can't believe the cruise is over...

That is our luggage to the rear and left of yours. We didn't do too badly for a man who packs his entire bathroom and closet! :goodvibes

BTW, I'm sure everyone knows this, but the folks in line behind the ropes are the drydock workers. They were primarily from Italy and Mexico as I understand it. We chatted with the folks working the pier. The workers luggage were sniffed for bombs by that beautiful dog there.

I can almost bet Steamboat Will did... Warren loves Jody

Life is busy with the "work" that was dumped on me.

We came home on Sunday morning to find.... a water pipe break in our garage(where my studio is) so far as I can tell 2 pieces of comission work are destroyed:scared1: and lots of personal items:sad2: I now have a big gaping whole in the ceiling, the contractors will be out tomorrow to patch the work. Oh well... life goes on.
And I hate to say this... I went to Weight Watchers today.... and I maintained my weight the entire trip. I Cant believe it:thumbsup2
Our last trip... I gained. So Im right with you ladies. Been there, Ate that!

Annie
PS... thanks again everyone for such a lovely vacation, lots of memories and pics.
