Happy Monday to all of you! (Mondays are usually not happy at all for me, but I just consider today as the first day of my vacation week!..It's getting me through!

)
Jenny-I'm sorry to hear about your Great Grandma. But if there is one thing that is comforting, it's that she is out of her pain and in a great place. (Or the "Best Place" like Emily quoted her pastor...I really like that!) And you will be able to go on vacation with the comfort of knowing that she is where she is supposed to be, and that she won't be feeling any more pain.
Trisha-I'm sorry about your dog.
I know how tough that decision is to make. But just know that if your dog was in pain, then you made the right decision.
Hopefully you can take comfort in the fact that you put him out of his pain.
Well, I have to give credit to those of you who are packed already! I have not really even begun! I have a tote filled with odds and ends that I don't want to forget, and I have a stack of clothes that are ready to be packed, but I think that the actually packing won't happen until Thursday. I took the day off on Thursday so that I wouldn't have to rush packing. (Normally I would have worked Monday-Thursday, and then I would have been up until 3am Friday morning feverishly packing! So, you see, I planned ahead this time!!!

)
We had quite a busy weekend! Douglas and JD (our cruising buddies) are running a marathon in January for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. So they are now in the process of raising their sponsor money. (they each have to raise $4,000) So we went to Salem IL (where JD grew up) on Saturday (about a 2 hour drive from here) and sat out in front of
WalMart all day in the sun collecting money. (we raised $100 for the day, and my employer should match it, so we'll end up with $200. -Not too shabby) It really is amazing how many people have been affected by cancer. I couldn't believe how many walked up to us and told us that they were just finishing chemo, or their brother, mother, father, (sons and daughters even) have been stricken with cancer. One mother broke down in tears telling about her son who passed away recently from a blood-related cancer. It's just really moving. (and this is just a small town in middle America...)
Then, Saturday evening I went and got my hair trimmed and highlighted, and Jen--I too got "waxed"
So then yesterday, we went and got a new camera!!! Yayy!!!
We were wanting a new one for a while, and could just not justify the expense. But what more justification do you need than a
Disney Cruise!!!
Our old camera is 2.0 megapixels and 8X optical zoom. The quality was always good, but just not GREAT. SO...
Best Buy had a Kodak Easy Share on closeout (I can't remember which model) But it's 5.0 mp, and 10X optical zoom. So our vacation pics should be MUCH better quality! YAYY!!!
Then I worked a little more on getting the house spotless before we leave. (yeah, right! Like I'll ever achieve SPOTLESS!!! LOL) But I moved big furniture and vacuumed underneath, that sort of stuff. I feel like we really got a lot done this weekend! Good thing it's only a 3-day work week! Otherwise I would feel like I needed another weekend just to recoup from the weekend!!
Anyway, I'd better get back to work. I've been typing this post all morning off and on, so it's time for me to get back to work. I have to get 5 days work done in 3. Wish me luck!!!
