Sept 17 2005 Magic - am i alone on the ship?

Donna - Glad that your DH is home! I have been wondering if he ever made it.
I was glad that the storm moved away from the port but not happy that it is headed for the Carolinas. We probably won't get as much from it as you will. We'll keep praying that she stays away!!
Are you driving down or flying??

Jenny - Sorry you have full day classes starting - at least you have something to look forward to this weekend!!!! Study hard and don't bring any textbooks with you!!

No one is to even think about work or school for those 7-8 days!!!!

Karen

Donna - glad DH made it home! And I really hope Ophelia just keeps on trucking right out to sea...

Jenny - thanks for the update. I finally broke down and did a SEARCH on the main forum and found the info. I don't know why I couldn't find it on the Disney site. :confused3 Must have been a blonde moment... How is your car doing now that it's fixed?

Jen - what happened to your "self-talk"? :confused3 I was ready to hear you answering yourself! :rotfl2:

I finally gave up trying to get everything done in one weekend that should have been done months ago. So....I decided to start vacation one day early and take Friday off too! Of course my boss hasn't agreed yet, but I'll just quietly sneak it into my weekly as if I was planning on taking it off all along. So.... then even though I can't head up until Saturday - I CAN start my vacation on FRIDAY - like everyone else!

DD is back home after visiting her Dad. Her sister told me she was asking all day long to come hom to see Mommy. Awww shucks! Makes me feel loved.

I still have not started packing, DS(15) is packing right now. I actually am glad the weekend is over...closer to vacation time!

DH and I took DS(3) to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory today...it was OK. DS(3) thought it was going to be like the orginal and kept asking when the movie was going to start! I thought it was OK...not my favirote. I am pretty sure DH liked it.

I was really bummed that Ohio State lost last night :sad2: We had a house full of frustrated people!

Tomorrow night is hiar cut night for every one...well not DH since he is bald :rotfl: I plan to pack Tuesday night since we have plans Wednesday and Thursday nights!

Hope everyone had a great weekend! I CAN'T WAIT FOR VACATION

I'm packed! Which is stressing me out about wrinkles, but, it is no different than being folded in a drawer....right....The hanging clothes are still hanging 9on the door handle...Sooooo if I am a little wrinkled...just go with it....wrinkles are SOOOOOO TODAY :rotfl2:

Hi all! Our last week...

I was really down yesterday b/c I felt overwhelmed by the packing of it all, but I got a ton done today (by no means all...) and feel much better, more relaxed, etc. And we had a great day at church. Silly to stress over this stuff, I know. Busy week for me and I'm sure all of you. Work is busy b/c people know I'm leaving and have stuff they want me to do before I go. And I have pre-cruise stuff to do almost every night. And really quite a bit more packing. OK, I've managed to stress myself out again, better go and get more stuff done. Most immediately, I need to get DD to wash her face and brush her teeth.

Donna, congrats on having DH home. You must be very happy!

TTFN, W.

I am feeeling very over whelmed right now because I have no packing done and I have a very busy night. I finally have my exchange student squared away on where he is going so that is a weight off of me. I can't believe I have a lot to do. What happened to the time, I had so much time to do everything and now I am running out of time! Well, I hope everyone has a good week and I hope it goes fast for everyone. I want to go to bed, I worked eleven hours today and I am tired. My husband must even feel bad for me, he made supper for me and he never makes supper. Well, Goodnight everyone. Sweet Magic dreams to all!

Still watching all the Ophelia updates although not much has changed. Karen, we are flying down on Friday morning. It is definitely good to have dh back home. We almost finished packing today, should finish tomorrow. It is good to know that my reality TV addiction is shared by so many. I will have to catch up when I get back, a cruise is probably the only way I would miss some of them! The only part that I dread this week is dropping off the :dog: and :cat: at the kennel. Maybe I will get dh to do it. I always hate leaving them. Yes, they are spoiled!-Donna

Hi Everyone!

As the Pointer Sisters would say, "I'M SO EXCITED!"

Wow, you take the weekend off and we hit Page 200 and the 3,000 post! As I tried to catch up, I thought you might have gotten up to 3,500. :bounce:

Donna, that is so great that your DH is home, congrats.

I am also a member of the "Wait to the Last Minute to Pack" club. I have all the suitcases out and stuff piled on top and all over the house, but I figured I will just wait to do the final selections and packing Friday. Then, I am sure I will have more excursions to Target ahead of me for all I have forgotten.

Karen, that is so cool that they used your quote in the Passporter. I just read that part of the book with your quote right before I got on to check the boards. That Passporter book is so helpful, I learn something new everytime I look at it.

I was informed late Friday that I need to hire a temp at my office to cover for me for 3 days of the week we are on the cruise. Would have been nice to have known this sooner than the last 4 days I have left to work. Poor temp, she has no idea what she is getting herself into.

My DS has been in his Pirate costume most of the weekend, having a great time playing Pirate. I just hope he can stay up late enough to enjoy the Pirates of the Caribbean party since it starts so late. I am no longer Mom, I am Matie. I told him the sword must stay home but he is concerned about when he will meet the dreaded Captain Hook! pirate:

Yikes, it is midnight- I must turn in. Have a great week, even though it will be a hectic one for all of us. But all the stress and preparation will be SOOOO well worth it.

I have been very lucky with my :dog: and :cat:...I have never had to put them in a kennel. I have a couple of friends who have dogs and we take turns dog sitting for each other. As for the cat, one of our neighbors always looks after her...she is the easy one! I ma just glad I have never had to use the kennel and they are 6 years old.

I had to get Abby off to school today, or otherwise I would be sleeping right now. Plus. I still have some PACKING to do. Who would have figured that it would be sooo tough to pack 2 pair of shorts, a couple shirts and some pants. :confused3

Donna-glad your DH made it safe ond sound.

Talk to ya'll later, got to get busy.

How cute!

Well, I've got most of my stuff packed - like you Jen I am thinking, my clothes (normally on hangers) are folded and in my suitcase - wrinkles!!!! Oh well. If I'm wrinkly, we'll all have to deal.

I had 3 shirts that had stains, and one of them is one of my favorites. Grrrrr! So now we're scrambling to figure out a way to get the stains out. Washed 3 times - haven't dried yet.

On a sadder note, my great-grandmother died last night. The calling hours are Tuesday night and the funeral is Wednesday. I'm not sure I can go becasue of this weeklong class, but of course I'm going to try.

Okay, the professor is here (luckily I have my laptop and wireless internet so I may be back).

Jenny, sorry to her about your great-grandma... I know you had been praying for a recovery. Hopefully she's at peace and in no pain now.

Jenny, So sorry about your grandmother...that is hard.

Donna, :cool1: Glad he is home safely...now tell him to stay home (except for the cruise, of course)....and telll him thank you from us!

I am off to have hot wax poured on me and then the hair ripped out by the roots...thought it sounded like a fun way to pass the time....myabe I will look into having my fingernail ripped out later :earseek: Give me strength! :scared: :faint:

I went up and unpacked...to stressed about wrinkles. I didn't hang them back up but atleast they are not stuffed in a suitcase!

Three days here! :dancer: :dancer: :dancer:

Thanks Linda and Lisa and Jen.

My professor was gracious and excused me for the whole day on Wednesday so I can attend the funeral. That's such a gift because it's so hard to have closure when you can't attend the calling hours or funeral. I had a great-uncle who died and was cremated, and I never got to attend any services for him. It doesn't feel like they're really gone in those situations. I'm thankful I can be with my family on Wednesday now. And it's a sad situation, but I'm at peace with her death because she was suffering and in pain. Now she's not, and although she'll be missed, this is what's best for HER. We all had lots of time to say goodbye, so we were fortunate in that.

Thanks again for your good thoughts and prayers.

Morning everyone!!!

ONLY 4 MORE DAYS TO GO UNTIL WE LEAVE FOR ORLANDO AND THE DISNEY MAGIC!!!!!

I'd like to welcome the newest member of the Disney family that opened today, Hong Kong Disneyland. :wizard:

Donna, glad to hear your DH finally made it home. You must be on :cloud9: right now.

Jenny, I'm so sorry about your great-grandmother. I know it's hard, but she is in a much better place. Or as my pastor would say, the best place of all. :grouphug: and :wizard: to you and your family.

I got all my packing done last night. Now I only have a few little things to pack. I can't believe we are leaving on Friday!!

Hope everyone has a good day,
Emily
