Sept 17 2005 Magic - am i alone on the ship?

Sounds like Nick is a good sharer. What a pumpkin!
You must be exhausted. I was after two weeks and I don't have to carry my children (thank goodness!). What all did you do on your trip?

Deege, You did not seriously read all those pages, did you? If so, you have too much time on your hands! Boy oh boy (who talks like that?)!

Not much going on here. Cleaning up from all the broken branches from the snow storm. There are alot and we don't have a lot of trees in Denver to lose. Getting ready for my first girl scout meeting. Exciting stuff!

My youngest son has that same cough and we finally went & got some antiobiotics the other day. Kids share the darndest things!!

Jen... I've been a girl scout leader for 7 years now... it is pretty fun! It's only as fun as you make it, so have a blast!!! We just got back with our girls from Omaha (3hrs) on Sunday... went up for the weekend to have a sleepover Sat. night at the Omaha Zoo... had a blast! It helps that we have girls that get along and are easy to deal with! I've had 4 of my current girls since we started as Daisies in Kindergarten and you really develop a bond with them!! :goodvibes Let me know if you need any advice!!

HUGS to all!! :grouphug:

Hey everyone..........just popped in to say hello!

Jen the sight looks great!

David we are sailing in January of 2007 if you want to come! Just waiting for the dates to be released so we can change our reservation. No more hurricane season for us!

We also brought home the cough from the boat too. I, however, took it on the boat and was sicker than a dog. I just did not say a word because I did not want to be locked in my cabin (happened to a friend of ours on DCL). I just pretended that I was not sick. ;) No time for complaining when on a cruise.

Back to work!

Missy

::MinnieMo Hello! Not too much going on here, just sick of watching it rain. It has rained here for a week. We have also been trying to decide on when we are cruising again. It will probably be when school goes out for summer. We just found out that our next duty station (last duty station!!) will be Bethesda, MD. We will be there for 2 years and then he will retire from there. We spent a year there in 2001, and it was not too bad. At least there is a lot to do there. We will move over the summer. Jen, the website is great. I got my pics from the Stingray encounter yesterday! I would do that again. Oh well, time to get the cat to the vet for shots. -Donna

Hi everybody.... just popping in to say hey. Keeping busy as usual here. Yesterday was Halle's 7th birthday. We went to see the new Wallace & Gromit movie and out for Japanese food to celebrate. Now we have a break (ouch... I hate that word) until Christmas-time; Emily and Noah's birthdays are the 30th of December.

We still have Disneyland plans for the week after Thanksgiving. I'm trying to convince my mom to let us fly her here for the holiday and to go with us, but no commitment out of her yet. And now my sister is saying that she might be able to fly out for Christmas, so I have my hopes up on that.

Jen, sorry it has taken me so long to comment on the new website, but it looks great. If I ever hook up the camera to the computer and take the pictures off, I'll see if there are any to send. (Jenny, I'll send the one you wanted when I do that... I haven't forgotten!!)

Donna, congratulations on your new orders. There are worse places to live, I guess. Brian went to anesthesia school there, and we lived in Rockville for a year. Would have been much easier to do at his current rank... housing was expensive!! Will you guys try for base housing or live on the economy??

Susan, you were back in my old stompin' grounds over the weekend! What we wouldn't give to be back there. This is going to be a long 4 years...

Well, time to get on with life. I have a list of things to do today and better get crackin'.

Karen

Karen, We are hoping to live in Damascus, MD which is where we lived before. We were there for school as well. We loved Damascus and the schools too. The only time we lived on base was in Spain. -Donna

You will be living close to my aunt...she lives in Gaithersburg, MD. I think they used to go to a church in Damascus. Before they lived in Gaithersburg, they lived in Germantown, MD.

Lisa, Gaitherburg and Germantown are very close. At least the shopping is much better there! The only problem with Damascus being so small is finding a place to live.
At least this time Jose will not be in school so we will have more of a chance to play tourist. We only lived there for 1 year and he was so busy so I'm hoping this time around we will have more time.-Donna

I usually go to my aunt's one or twice a year. I like the area...at least from a visitor's perspective! My aunt runs a pre-school in her home and my cousin is an elementary teacher at Dr. Sally K. Ride Elementary in Montgomery county schools.

Donna, Think of it as an adventure! Do you have any friends there still?

Don't you hate it when the computer doesn't let you know when someone posts!

I got on one of those rampages today. You know when you go to put something in the closet and realize the closet is a mess so you take stuff to the basement which needs cleaning, pretty soon it looks like a bomb went off in the house because you are gutting it. My husband comes home and I am exhausted and I think he is wondering if I got so tired destroying the house. I'm like (open something, it's all clean). I cleaned the basement, the hall closet, the pantry (which is 9' by 5') and the cabinets under the bar (and still didn't find my misplaced girl scout handbooks). Tomorrow I have to clean all I messed up to clean. HUmmm! That doesn't make a lot of sense!
Oh well! Maybe tomorrow I'll just read and eat bonbons  Right!
Thanksgiving sounds fun, Karen!
My dad said to make sure people don't care that I am posting their pics on the website. Since you all originally sent me pics I was assuming it was okay, but if you want anything off just let me know and I will remove it.
It's 1am (of course I'm not tired at all) but I probably should go to bed. It is supposed to be 80 again here tomorrow. I have to say (again), I love the weather here! :sunny:
Good night all (good morning Michelle),

Just want to say hello to all and I hope all are doing fine. Rained (raining) here in New York for a week already, my ark that I built has sprang a leak so I may have to delay my invite to you'll to join me on it. And Jen I want that house cleaned today and I also want you to email me some of that 80 degree weather. Missyoh8 thanks for the cruise invite in Janurary 07, But living in NY I never plan a vacation in Jan. possibility of too much snow and planes are snowed in, then I miss my cruise. I always take a week in March (which I usually spend it at my timeshare in Pennsylvania "Poconos") and 2 weeks in Sept or Oct which I use to cruise. So I guess I'd rather take my chances with a hurricane over the snow. So i'm looking at the possibility of Disney again in Sept 07. As of now it's Carnival for 06, but after that I think I will be a Disney cruiser forever. I can't wait until they get a new ship,, when they do you can color me gone.

Take care all,,,
Gotta run,, "Oh" by the way, Jen I did skip :bounce: a lot of post.

David.

Hi all, it is nice that everyone is keeping in touch.

We just changed our spring 4 day Wonder to the the 5/13/06 Eastern. Yes, we are getting spoiled. Four days is not enough! We are also booked on the 9/16/06 CC double dip. DEEGE, are you listening? Dump Carnival and join us! Or come in May. I agree about not wanting to book in winter. Trouble with flights and I am always afraid that CC will not be warm enough for me. Would be nice to see the ship decorated for Christmas though.

Glad everyone is feeling better.

Take care,
Donna

I could be wrong but I heard they decorate for Christmas like at WDW around end of October. :earseek: I would love to see the ship decorated for Christmas. When we went to WDW 17th Dec. 2004 it was GREAT so festive and wonderful if you didn't have the sprit of Christmas before you went it stuck to you like glue!!!!

Hope everyone stays safe and take care :wizard:

Tammy, our first cruise was in December, and yes... they do decorate the ship quite beautifully!! Trees, giant gingerbread houses... Characters are in holiday attire... It was great!

Karen

 everyone! It's nice to see the board busy again. I really missed all of the companionship. We're cruising in September 06 and 07 (if they ever release the rates). 06 is the 11-night cruise. I figured 7 just wasn't enough! Looking forward to being on the Wonder and seeing lots of new ports. There are 4 at sea days, 5 ports + castaway cay. FUN! It leaves on the exact same day as our cruise did (September 17th). In 07 we'll go on whatever cruise is on during my birthday week. I'm hoping it's the Eastern or another special cruise - since we all just did a modified Western!

I'm going nuts here at home. The stateroom attendant is HOPELESS. I'd love to fire her - but then where would I live? :rotfl: Christina is sticking with the BAT idea for Halloween. WHY or WHY couldn't I have a NORMAL daughter???????? You wouldn't believe all of the looks she gets when she explains what she wants to be for Halloween. I have given up on the pirate costume "rerun" and am madly sewing the new BAT costume.

In my spare time (none), I'm working on my kitchen remodel. It's now turned into a kitchen + new roof remodel. I have no idea how I'm supposed to afford the thing - especially with all of these Disney cruises I MUST take! Here's hoping this year's bonus is GOOD!

Loved the pix you have so far Jen. Keep them coming! Let me know if you want any of the second or third FFC group photos. We kept taking them over and over again when new people would show.

Sweet Sue

Hi all, stopping in with a bit of a breather. Sue, I went through the bizarre Haloween request a few years ago -- Phoebe announced she wanted to be a monster for Halloween. She was 2 and I was hoping for fairy or butterfly or some cute girly thing. No. She was set on MONSTER. I don't sew, not even buttons, so I got in the internet. The wonderful internet. And found the cutest pink monster costume ever. She was a hit. Made the roar sound everywhere she went and held her hands up. I loved it! Now that she wants to be "minnie" or "Dorothy", it's not so fun. I'm saying in my long-winded way, I'm jealous and Christina will be a darling Bat and you will have fun with the "different" costume.

I"m home this weekend, thinking about doing the old winter/summer clothes switcheroo in my closet, but it may or may not happen... Next weekend I go to San Diego and I'm very excited about that, then Halloween. Wooo Hooo. And I think my babysitter will be back next week, so life will resume it's (fairly) normal rhythm.

I miss everyone and hope you all are well.

Love the website!

Hello all. Ragdoll that dumping of the Carnival thing sounds like a good idea. But I need to go Barbados and the ship docks there from 7am until 11pm. My wife's family(except for a brother and sister) 1 sister, 3 brothers and father live in Trinidad and we get to meet her father in Barbados when we do that interinary ( second time in four years). I know we could just go to Trinidad and see him but i've done that before for 2 weeks and all I was thinking about was I gave up my cruise to be in one place for 2 weeks, Very nice family and the first time I had met her father but I can't stay in one place to long( I do that at home) without getting bored, unless it's on a ship. Enough of my sad story, but 2007 will be a different story. Everyone take care!!!!

David"Deege"

Hey All!
Sue, any pictures you want to send my way, great! Anyone for that matter.

Now I have to say this and hope I don't get flamed. I am banking on the fact that you guys are my friends to get me through it.......

Have any of you ever been on any other cruise line?:duck: :duck: :duck: :scared: Some of the ships out there are amazing and there is actually, wait for it....room to walk around the pools! :duck: :duck: I'm just saying ....food for thought. :teeth:

I have not done Carnival but I have done RCL and Princess and I like all three ships better than the Magic :duck: :duck: :scared: I've done it now. I have to go hide....

Jen, it's ok if you like the other ships better... but the Magic has the best company! :cool1:

I am uploading pictures from my camera as I type. If I have any worth anything, I'll send some your way.

Karen

:faint: Jen, BLASPHEMY!!!!

I've thought about other lines, but then I just can't pull myself away from Disney.

Deege, couldn't you do the 11 night cruise next September? It goes to Barbados also and you'd be on Disney, not the Magic, but the Wonder. Plus you could cruise with me and Sue and we could have a mini FFC remeet.

Later everyone,
Emily
