I got my kids packed, my husband packed (and I snuck some of my stuff in his (shhh) kid's carry ons packed.....just need to do me now....

I also got Trenton's pirate costume. It is soooo cute...Capt Jack Sparrow (thrown together from salvation army stuff...still not cheap but original....

Tracy, I hope your packing light goes well. It is sooo weird because you KNOW you will not wear anything but swim wear during the day but it feels funny. We have 6 days at the parks to pack for too.

Karen, Ouch! Glad you didn't hurt it bad...that would stink...

Going to dinner tonight with some friends...Olive Garden YUM! So much for the (nonexistent) diet!

I can't believe it is sooo close.

Is anyone bring long sleeves for the full day on the ship (LSheffield or the day sail for those of you doing it)? My mom said something about that for not getting sun burn. I dont' think I will burn and I know the kids won't (I say that with seriously 2nd degree burns on my stomach and back because I am such and idiot) Well those won't be exposed to the public...you all owe me a thank you for that curtousy (sp)!

We aren't bringing long sleeves to avoid sun exposure, but I am bringing a sweatshirt for nighttime at the parks. It can get chilly.

You know, I know I'll wear the swimsuit a lot on the ship, but I'm not comfortable enough to wear just the suit with no top or shorts - I think I'd have to do both since I sort of "know" people on the ship now!

Renee, you said a while back not to poke fun if you wear a lot of the same clothes - I'm only bringing two pairs of shorts and two pairs of capris. I will be wearing a different outfit each night for dinner becasue I have fun dress up clothes I like and I think I'll get grumpy if I DON'T pack something and then get to the ship and think, "AHHHHH! I wish I would have brought ____." (Clarification: internal grumpiness only. All external grumpiness is closely monitored to ensure guest happiness and safety. )

Have fun at Olive Garden - my favorite restaurant ever!

About the new dock at St. Thomas. There is a post on the main board about it and it has some links to sites about the new dock. Might not hurt to read it since that is where we will be docking.

St. Thomas docking - I read all there was to read on the boards and went to the USVI web page and it seems to be that the Magic is docking at Crown Bay. What I need to know is if anyone knows how far that is from the main "town" around Havensight. It doesn't look within walking distance from any of the shops. Also wondered about cab fare?? Really didn't want to spend $$$ for cabs to shop but I guess I need to quit whining and suck it up and go with the flow.

Wonder if DH and I just need to book an excursion instead of planning to shop. Just curious.

By the way my kids are almost excited as me about this trip.

Karen-I checked out the website also, they way I read it was, we would be anchored in Crown Bay. Therefore being tendered in. BUT, the Magic did use the new dock on the last go round. I would assume that the would use the new dock again. Pure speculation on my part.

I don't see a "Live from the 9/10 Magic" thread yet either. . We must have one of those being the cool,hip,fun,Flip Floppin' Castaways

I haven't read the new info on the newest dock, but I'm wondering how close that is to the Charlotte Amelie ferry over to St. John. We're doing SJ on our own, and we wanted to use that ferry.... Guess I better go check it out.

Okay, I'll post the dreaded 2999th post so that the next DISer can be the 3000th one!

Looked at where the new dock is. It's in Sub Base which is West of Frenchtown which is West of Charlotte Amalie. Sub Base is just East of the airport.

Airport -> Sub Base (Crown Bay Dock) -> Frenchtown -> Charlotte Amalie

So.... if you plan on doing anything, you'll need a cab.
