They did have the Cookery series on the TA last year. I think they run them on sea days, hence none on the Med cruises as so few, if any, sea days!!

Yep, the few sea days we had were basically "recovery" days :drinking1 ;) from all of the touring & walking....but what a GREAT cruise it was. :thumbsup2

Can anyone suggest something for my DD Chanelle's 15th birthday? It's on the 13th which is a day at sea. What options are there??

Hi there

Last summer, when our DD was 15, we got her a spa treatment. We didn't know that it was available, but the beautician said to me that it isn't advertised, but there is a teen package which includes a facial, manicure and pedicure. My DD loved it. I think it cost about $60 ish from memory, but it was worth it, she felt really special having it done as she was always really jealous that I got to the spa and she didn't.

If you go straight up to the spa when you board, hopefully they will have a slot available for you for 13th. I am sure she will love it too.

My DD loved having gorgeous nails for the trip. Again, if you say it's for her birthday, they will make such a fuss of her :thumbsup2

I'm sad, i've just been reading the thread on the main cruise section about the missing CM from the Wonder. A female CM went missing on Tuesday (a sea day) they have searched the ship several times but not found her. How very sad for all onboard. :sad1: My prayers are being sent that it turns out well.

I sure hope so - would love  to do it again. (The food was delicious!) We took the Chef Series classes on the 7-day Caribbean cruise a few years ago. I don't think it was available on the 10-day Med cruise last summer (probably not enough at-sea days) - if it was, I didn't see it. :cutie:

Maybe someone with more information :teacher: about this Trans-Atlantic cruise will know........

Thanks for this info, definately something I will be keeping an eye out for. :thumbsup2

I am the same way - I work in marketing for a grocery chain and enjoy checking out grocery stores in other parts of the country/world just out of sheer curiosity! I would really like to see how Aldi in Europe compares with Aldi here in the US.

The main supermarket in our home town is actually Aldi and we do a lot of our shopping there. The quality and range of products is really good. :thumbsup2 Do you work for Aldi ?

One more post ...phew ;):lmao:

You made it ..... :thumbsup2

There goes my idea of cruising being a bit boring with nothing to do :rotfl2:

Cruising = boring .... put that idea right out of your head missy ... you will struggle to fit in all that you want to do. :rotfl2:

Just for enjoyment reading......for all you fellow cruisers.....what would you say was your most enjoyable memory/activity you did on previous Disney cruises? Was there a little known joy you discovered on the trip that you could share with everyone? Like maybe a "sleeper" event that most people would bypass thinking it wasn't worth trying or a place on the ship that you think everyone should try at least once. :rolleyes1

I'm just curious because I have found some of the most special/enjoyable things I have done in the past were based on what other people recommended that maybe wasn't in a tour book or talked about a lot. :dance3: The little things in life can wind up being the most pleasureable! :woohoo:

Where do I start :cloud9::cloud9: I think on the WBTA one of the most memorable and enjoyable experiences I had personally was the evening where they did "Once Upon a Song" . This was a show consisting simply of the entertainment cast singing Disney songs and it was done very simply with no bells and whistles and was beautiful. I find a lot of Disney music very emotional and for most of the performance I was in tears.

I also enjoyed standing at bow of the ship at sunset, watching us sailaway from the ports with a cocktail in one hand, and the evening where we took a bottle of champange up on deck after dinner.

Oh and eating breakfast / lunch at Topsiders ... the restaurant with the best view in the world! and then there's Palo ..... say no more !!!!

And of course meeting and sharing the experiences with lots of lovely DIS friends which made everyting we did extra extra special.:hug:

I saw that too ... very sad. :sad1::sad1:

Amen sister! Couldn't have said it better myself! Wonderful cruise....not what I would call a relaxing cruise.....but an action packed cruise! AND met the nicest people (hint, hint GA-yaya! :lmao::rotfl2:) This cruise will give us a little of both....places to explore and time to recover!:boat:

So sad! Being missed for two days does not bode well for her.

I am beginning to wonder how i'm going to fit it all in too. :confused3 My DH was worried about being bored but I now know for sure that we have so much to do that I don't think we will have time to relax.:rotfl2:

No, I work for a competitor of Aldi. Here in the states, Aldi is a "edited assortment" store, meaning it is much smaller than your conventional grocery store and has a much smaller selection. Is it the same way in the UK?

Thanks for the birthday suggestions. :surfweb: How do I order the balloons etc from DCL?

The teen spa is a very good idea, she will love that :thumbsup2

yes, very dumb of me to think It will be boring :rolleyes1 I honestly thought it would be the kids out all day and night. I'm beginning to think it will be the other way round :rotfl2:

I might need another cruise afterwards to relax :dance3:

Hi Karen

I'm from Kingston upon thames in Surrey.

I'm on page 3 so I've got a looooooong way to go to catch up :scared1:

I will def be joining in some of the activities as I'm sure (hope!) I won't be seeing much of the kids  :woohoo:

There was me thinking I'd be lying in bed watching tv and sunbathing for 2 weeks :lmao:

This is looking more energectic than Disneyworld!

Melonz -

Welcome! We are neighbors! I am in Hanworth now but a Hampton before. Look forward to getting to know you on here and onthe cruise.

Dan

You can order the birthday stateroom decorations from the DCL website. Look for Gifts & Amenities under "Planning Center" or it can be found when you sign in for your cruise. Click "Barcelona" and start shopping!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: There is a form you can fill out and fax in or a phone number to call to order. Easy!

The decorations are nice, and they would be a big surprise for your daughter. :)

As I'm trying to figure out what hotel to stay in a thought has occured to me. Would it make it easier/more fun if we knew where everyone was staying? I'd be willing to organize a list of what people are staying in which hotel if everyone wants me too. Just PM me with your disname and hotel. If it's ok maybe we could post it on the first page. :goodvibes

I have only been to bigger ones here but they seem to have all you would need to do your normal shop. But not my first choice as they do not have real brands.
