Just gave my two weeks notice:cool1::cool1: I'm retiring :)[/QUOTE]

congratulations on your retirement, wishing you many magical cruises in your spare time:cool1:

only 20+ years to go for me, although i am enjoying my year off on maternity leave:banana:

Am I looking in the wrong place for these rooms?

I am going into my reservation and using the modify rooms button and there are no sideways available :confused:

You have to type the cabin numbers in Mary.

I've typed in the cabin numbers and the screen whirrs grey for a minute then does nothing.

I will check on my home pc tonight  maybe the settings here, but it doesn't show you on this pc

They are definitely available:)

that grey screen happened to me the other day, was so annoying but its not happening today. i hope its nearly home time for you, but im sure they wont be gone, i mulled ours over for couple days before i changed, i kept checking to see if it was still available, i bet if it had gone i would have been

Congrats on your retirement Sandy!!! My husband retired 4 years ago (we actually let him have one week of retirement before he had to go to work at another job - our first son started college!!! lol :rotfl2:) This job does allow him to work out of the home most of the week, and he is a different person! So much more relaxed! So enjoy your retirement! You earned it! :cool1:

I was getting that problem too. I just typed the number and rather than click search I clicked on the save button below. It then takes you to the next page and shows your changes and gives you the option to confirm the changes. Hope this helps. :)

I think I'm in 5509 on the Wonder for my May Alaska cruise - looking forward to the perceived extra space of a sideways.

First cruise was cabin 5522 - Secret Porthole - I love staying on Deck 5 on the Magic & Wonder. Congratulations to those who are staying there.

After thinking about getting a group together for hotel to port transfers, I changed my reservation to the Hilton Diagonal Mar Barcelona. Using a reward night, the nightly average out-of-pocket price is lower. And I really liked the look of that area when we were doing the hop-on/hop-off bus last year. Going to miss being at the same hotel with so many folks, but I'll see you at the Hard Rock.
Hello, Lynn!
We're staying at the Hilton, too! We are curious about the transportation to the Hard Rock...do you take a taxi or is there something more reasonably priced? We're only there for 1 night, but would like to join the group on Friday night.
Thanks, Connie

Burnice; good to read something from you! Was about to sent out Mandy's search&rescue-party for you. Sorry to read mom isn't been doing to well. Crossing my fingers she'll be up to her old self again before you know it.

Hopelessly gotten behind on the topic. Had a silly fall recently and dealing with a concussion, so screentime is been very little. Too little pre-cruise-drooling-dreaming-screentime, imho. ;) Have to do some serious reading up soon. Fingers crossed by then I still can catch up with you guys. :rotfl2::lmao:

Had a nice pre-cruise-fun-day today. Hit Ebay last week and today my package was here. No less than 8 lovely formal and semiformal dresses for a little over 70 pounds incl. shipping. :cheer2: I know, a tad much. Won't be bringing all along probably and some dresses will be part of my standard outfits. Just loved so many different dresses and with these prices... Oh well, at least now I know I've got an outfit that will fit me whatever size I end up wearing in september. :worship:

i changed to sideways cabin 5009 last week due to having 8 month old baby, buggy in room so any extra space is needed, but wondering why all these people are now deserting cabins around me, is it beacause they will be a screaming wean :rotfl2:

That's us--- the space for babies! I think these cabins have always been available IF you punch in the cabin number. However, they are just now popping up as one of the general 7 or 8 that show up in general. We would have been nextdoor neighbors, but we are on the other hall. Luckily, our older daughter is well traveled, and the little one is soooo easy-go-lucky and laid back. I've done several trips by myself with both of them, and we've done great. I know they have also been quieter than some cruisers we've been next to in years past... ever hear how loud some people slam doors, walk/talk down the hallway, or come back slightly inebriated after a long day?!? My girls are much, much quieter. :thumbsup2

it showing they still available right now:thumbsup2
:thumbsup2

I have those nights, too! I'm still breastfeeding, and we have started solids (just homemade baby food - purred) but there are nights I wake up and NEED to feed her because * I * am uncomfortable! Luckily, she wakes up before I even get out of bed --- I think it is some psychic thing going back and forth across the house when that happens!

So did anyone get to snag those sideways cabins?? I know I researched the heck out of them prior to booking, and was excited to see that YouTube posted in February!

I don't know if I have missed the answer on here which relates to the email that was sent about the shops etc being closed on the day we dock due to a public holiday. I myself have also enquired and here is the reply,

Hi Emma
You will be surprised to know that all business , attractions and services will be available on the day.
Have a good day and hope you enjoy your visit.
:yay:

I hope this is the case as I was looking forward to the shops and also Morrisons :rolleyes1 for a few items.

Apologies if this has been covered and I am just repeating the topic.

Hi There

It seems we have now received several communications which all confirm much of Gibraltar will be open for business on the day we docked there. It's great to get so many corresponding e-mails which hopefully means we're in for a great day and plenty of time to shop at Morrisons for those essentials.

Thanks again for your information

beautiful dresses would give me the incentive to keep going

Thanks Mandy for the video of the sideways cabin never seen it before..
Now can anyone tell me what the room with the secret porthole is about??:confused3

There are about 8 cabins onboard that were originally categorized as Outside with a View - but they have varying degrees of restricted view due to ship parts being in front of the window. So instead of being sold as Outside with a View (Cat 9?), they are sold as the cheaper Cat 10. 5020, 5022, 5024, 5026 (or so) and the corresponding 55xx rooms.

There are also Secret Verandah rooms that have a slightly restricted balcony, so they are sold at the one-lower category price.

Will have to be researching this - there is a tram that runs up the Avenida Diagonal and the subway, both very close to our hotel. goofprincess (Sandy & Tony) will also be there.

And there are the fountains at Montjuic (built in the 1920s, water choreographed to light and sound) for viewing on the half-hour starting at 9pm. (May to September - Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday: 21:30, 22:00, 22:30 and 23:00)

At least we've got time to organize all this - there might be enough of us to get transport to the ship in the morning, too, at a decent price, especially since we are so close.

So, the big port excursion discussion for Gibraltar is "are the shops open." :rotfl: What an exciting family we are - I try to go to the grocery store and Wal-Mart whenever I am on vacation. Love to see the variety of selections they offer. Here's what I saw in Conzumel on a 7-night Western Caribbean (when the water activities were cancelled due to rough seas):

Here are the ebay sites we talked about a few weeks ago:

For the person who wanted to know about dresses from China(Ebay), and anyone else, Corinna sent the following reply to my PM.

Hi Marilyn,
sure, this is my favourite seller. I used them 3 times now and the dresses are all three stunning. They are an absolute charm to work with:

I ordered from them once and got quick and friendly service and love the dress they made. However, their selection of styles is not as good.
