After thinking about getting a group together for hotel to port transfers, I changed my reservation to the Hilton Diagonal Mar Barcelona. Using a reward night, the nightly average out-of-pocket price is lower. And I really liked the look of that area when we were doing the hop-on/hop-off bus last year. Going to miss being at the same hotel with so many folks, but I'll see you at the Hard Rock.

We will be at the Hilton Diagonal Mar also :thumbsup2 -- arriving on Wednesday morning. We stayed there last summer before our cruise and we LOVED it! (My husband enjoyed the beach - & the views at the beach  - which is about 2 blocks away.)

Hello, Lynn!
We're staying at the Hilton, too! We are curious about the transportation to the Hard Rock...do you take a taxi or is there something more reasonably priced? We're only there for 1 night, but would like to join the group on Friday night.
Thanks, Connie

We took the Metro everywhere we went (except for going to the port with our luggage - taxi for that). The Maresme/Forum Metro station is about a block away and is easy to use, and very reasonably priced! :thumbsup2

Since it is a Disney-recommended hotel, they have the Cruise check-in available in the hotel lobby. :thumbsup2 We found that to be very, very helpful!

Hope to see both of you, Lynne & Connie, there! :)

So, the big port excursion discussion for Gibraltar is "are the shops open." :rotfl: What an exciting family we are - I try to go to the grocery store and Wal-Mart whenever I am on vacation. Love to see the variety of selections they offer. Here's what I saw in Conzumel on a 7-night Western Caribbean (when the water activities were cancelled due to rough seas):

Hi there

Sadly there is no Wal Mart to experience in Gibraltar. Although we do have them here in England, a few years ago they took over our "Asda" stores.

However there is another English brand, "Morrison's" a short walk away from the dock, and if last years Cruise is any indication they are used to hundreds of Disney cruisers descending on them to stock up on treats and wine, and of course essential the Champagne Girls supplies.

:woohoo: :woohoo: got 5509 :woohoo: :woohoo:

So pleased I now have a cat 11B with a steamer trunk :thumbsup2
:wave2: Howdy, neighbor!! :thumbsup2

By the way --- this is where we stayed when we were in Inverness prior to DD1 coming along! And for some reason, we remembered eating pizza upstairs at some little place in walking distance from there... across a bridge. Wait - just looked in my trip report - Pazzo’s Pizzera (4-6 Ness Walk) that overlooked the river. (It was late, and we were tired!) Ahhh.... the memories.... :)

DCL check in sounds great. Peggy, do they give you boarding number KTTW card as well?

DH is a Hilton points collector. Staying on points in London too:woohoo:

6134, 6634, 7120, 7620

They have photos of the verandahs

We had 6134; didn't see that the slight obstruction dampened the fun (and it was nice saving money).

Ditto - I'd like to know about the whole in-hotel check-in as well, as should Connie. We might become the second DISmeet location after the Universal.

Had hoped to visit Morrison's during last year's EBTA, but was on crutches so took a taxi from downtown to the ship.

In England, I have to go to Waitrose (had the best raspberries I've ever eaten - that was late May 2008) and Tesco (Tesco's Finest Strawberries & Channel Islands Cream yogurt). I have got to get to Tesco's on my few days' visit before this cruise.

Anyone know if they carry Tesco's finest yogurts in their Express or Metro shops in London or Bath?

Hey neighbours :cool1:

Mandy, our office is just round the corner from the pizzeria and my DDs orthodontist is right next to your guest house. Know exactly where you were.

Inverness is such a beautiful city. Has lots of fond memories for us too, I am not originally from the North, but moved up here when I married DH, who was stationed here with the Royal Air Force. DH proposed to me in a gorgeous little guest house in Ness Walk

:dance3:Happy Birthday Marilyn:dance3:

I hope you have a lovely day, have you got anything planned?

. :rotfl2::lmao:

Had a nice pre-cruise-fun-day today. Hit Ebay last week and today my package was here. No less than 8 lovely formal and semiformal dresses for a little over 70 pounds incl. shipping. :cheer2: I know, a tad much. Won't be bringing all along probably and some dresses will be part of my standard outfits. Just loved so many different dresses and with these prices... Oh well, at least now I know I've got an outfit that will fit me whatever size I end up wearing in september. :worship:

please share where you got your dresses, ive been looking but having never cruised before im not sure whats too much or too little.

started slimming world tonight, ive got 6 months to lose weight before cruise,
beautiful dresses would give me the incentive to keep going

I love Monsoon and buy my dresses from there. I live in that shop. Their dresses do the trick nicely for a cruise, I love the opportunity to get dressed up.

There always seems to be a Monsoon bargain on ebay as well at half the price of the shop :thumbsup2

Good luck with slimming world !! :woohoo:

The link didn't show up ...does anyone know the room number for secret verandas

As the numbers have already posted :thumbsup2

We stayed in 7620 and it was fantastic. Sadly there are no secret verandah rooms available on the WBTA I keep checking ;)

Congrats to all those that got the sideways cabins on Deck 5 :thumbsup2

party: Happy Birthday Marilyn party:

Hope you have a great day
