oh and please keep gary's dad in your thoughts, gary's had to head up to glasgow as the visiting hospice nurse thinks his dad's only got days left, his mum has signed the DNR and they're withdrawing his meds. (hence the "really bad day" comment)
[/QUOTE]

Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with Gary's family. I wish Gary wonderful thoughts of his father and God's blessings on his family, and you Karen as well.

ATTENTION ALL FE PARTICIPANTS!!

I've had one person ask me about signing up for the FE since the cutoff date. I know we said any late-comers would be on a separate list, but what if no one else signs up?
Thanks!!
I'm fine with adding them to my list. I don't mind making room for them.

can't think of anything else, my brain is fried and i can't really concentrate right now. going to finish the (well needed) glass of baileys, and head to bed, its been a bad day and a tough one at work and i just want it to be over.

I've had one person ask me about signing up for the FE since the cutoff date. I know we said any late-comers would be on a separate list, but what if no one else signs up?

I can see a couple of possibilities here. I'd like opinions from everyone who has signed up as to what you would prefer.

A) I could just add them to an existing group. This would mean one group has 21 cabins instead of 20.

B) I could make a new group consisting of people who volunteer to be on this list. Chances are, many of the people will already be on multiple lists, so there may be quite a bit of overlap.

C) I could tell them they will have to take their chances with the late list.

It's one adult and one child. I, personally, have no problem with either A or B. I'm already making 120 adult gifts, so one more is neither here nor there for me, and I have extra kid gifts anyway. BUT... I know luggage space, budget, and time are problematic for some people and one more gift is just not possible. So...

Please let me know what you think I should do. If you vote for option B, it doesn't necessarily mean that you are volunteering. If this is what we do though, and you would like to volunteer for the list, you can PM me. Also, if you prefer not to voice your preference publicly, you are welcome to PM me.

No hard feelings, whatever you think or decide! But please let me know quickly so I can take care of the details.

Thanks!!

Stick 'em on the list. Most things come in packs of 2 dozen any way.

HI everyone ... some good news re. the Hard Rock pre-cruise gathering

I have managed to organise the same deal as we had last year on the pre-cruise HRC gathering ... basically we will get the use of a downstairs room for drinks, which we can get at the discounted price of 3 euros for a soda, and 6 euros for a local beer / glass of wine.

We need to meet up at 6:30 pm outside of the hard rock and we will have wristbands given to us for the reduced drink prices.

I also need to know how many people are planning on eating their evening meal at the Hard Rock, so I can let them know how many tables to set up for dining.

So could you please let me know if you plan to eat there. Thank you :thumbsup2

Sarah xx

Let me join the others and thank you for organizing this get together. There will be 4 of us (all adults) eating at the HRC.

I'd just like to say how happy & thankful I am that I "met" you all. I was talking to a friend tonight about the cruise & I realized that one of the things I am most excited about is sharing everything w/ my disfriends. Thank you so much for everything - even just the day to day chatter & thoughfulness - it really has made this whole experience so much more meaningful to me. You guys are the best! :disrocks:

To past disney cruisers a mundane question:confused3 looking at my packing list I seem to have more dresses than I would normally take, does anybody know how many clothes hangers are in the wardrobe or will I need to pack a few.
Also can you share any items that you take to make life easy on board. I seem to have a long list of first aid items and meds, also zip lock bags and insulated mugs for coffee .

But what have I forgotten oh wise ones ? :worship::worship::worship:

margaret

You can always request more hangers from your steward so no problem there!
I find that an over-the-door shoe holder is very helpful on the bathroom door to store my toiletries and keep the counters clear. Also, a highlighter is good for picking out the things you want to do in the itinerary.

I need to ask a huge favour to see if we can swap from brunch group 1 to 2 so that we can do the tea on the 13th. If anyone in group 2 would like to swap?

Would you want to do tea on the 18th? I have tea that I just got for the 18th, but would be happy to switch to the 13th.

Karen, I am so sorry about your Father In Law. I hope they are at least giving him morphine for pain. That helped my aunt through those last days of brain cancer this spring. Cancer sucks. There is no other way to say it. I'm so sorry. Huge hug to you and Gary. :grouphug:

Re Hard Rock Diners .. perhaps you should PM me ... worried that your plans may get lost in the threads ... so far I have the following on my list:

Sarah and Tony
Paul, Helen and Grace
Lee and Claire
Mandy and Curt plus 2

Sarah - I sent you a PM - Jeremy and I are in for HRC and dinner as well.

JACQUELINE: I'm in awe of your strength and resolve :worship:. Wow, what an incredibly bad experience you've had, yet you still have such a positive attitude. I hope you make that holiday trip and have an outstanding time...we're all cheering for you:woohoo:!

I'm so sorry that you all have to go through this. I hope his dad is comfortable/as free of pain as possible and that the hospice services are a help to Gary and his mom. Our thoughts are with him :sad1:.

...Would you want to do tea on the 18th? I have tea that I just got for the 18th, but would be happy to switch to the 13th.

They are taking over my tea on the 13th; but if they can't switch Brunch and want to do your tea on the 18th, I'll work with you guys to switch it all around.

Jacqueline: Good to hear from you! I hope they get things sorted out for you and you're quick to heal. I'm so sorry you're having such a hard time with your healthcare providers. My mom has had to deal with some of that "it's all in your head" business, when we knew it wasn't. She's now with a doctor who listens to her. Hang in there - we're all cheering for you!

Karen: I'm sorry you and Gary are going through this. You and your FIL will be in our thoughts and prayers.

THANK YOU to everyone who responded to my FE dilemma! You are all so kind and generous. I've added CruisingSwedes (Jenny and her 4-yr-old DD) to Group Tortola, and sent an email to everyone via the Google group to let them know. Now, if this causes a problem for anyone in that group, for any reason, please email or PM me and let me know. I have a way to take care of it for you, and believe me, I understand completely if one more gift is a problem. (Josh and Karen, you are most definitely NOT party-poopers!! I'm the one who can't follow my own rules. ;) )
