It's not too late for the cruise, though! (and some of the activities).

Since you're not totally new to this thread, you might know to go to the first couple of pages and find out if there's anything with an impending deadline.

I know the Fish Extender (FE) gift exchange officially closed, but I'm thinking they were going to have a catch-all group for people like you who booked late or found this site as they were doing last-minute planning.

You can send PM (private messages) to individuals on this forum (if you need to send personal information like real names ....) after you have made ten posts. I find it best to just get those posts in. Only need a word (or even a single letter) in the post to reach 10. Just have to wait a minute between posting for them to go through.

Ask any questions you want, we've all been new at one time. And others may be wondering the same thing you are - not everyone here has been with the group for a long time, many of the regulars are fairly new.

Again, W E L C O M E

Thanks! I've been on the first pages and am making notes and will PM the organizers to see if there is any space left for me. Kind of daunting cruising with just my 4 year old for the first time!

Would love to join the Fish Extender, Candy Swap, Mixology tastings, etc. I have to search around more to see if there are any events at Palo still open?

Back to planning!

Welcome!!!! Are you Swedish? More Scandanavians!! I'm Taina, half Finnish, booked this cruise solo! Found a great roomate on the disboards, Evelyn (fly4free2)!
This is my 6th Disney cruise, all on the Magic! I just booked a few weeks ago myself! So, no its not too late to join the party!:dance3::woohoo::cutie:

Have you cruised with Disney before? I'm sure your DD will have lots of new friends to meet in the kids clubs and you will meet lots of new friends in the big kids clubs! :rotfl:

Hi Taina! My husband is Swedish, but he can't make it to join the ship this time sadly! That's cool that you booked solo! What an adventure this is going to be....can't wait!

This is my 3rd Disney Cruise. We did Magic in the Caribbean twice with our older daughter, and also with my sister and nephew. We loved every minute of it!

Definitely looking forward to making new friends! Looking forward to meeting you!

Well today I have tried on some of my cruise dresses ... I still need to lose an inch to get into my preferred semi-formal option, but I do have a bigger one if necessary, although that one is a little bit too big. Everything else fits :thumbsup2 I now need to co-ordinate shoes and jewellery as no way can I bring all of the shoes I want to bring.

I am still looking for one formal dress, as I want to wear one of my existing formals ( which is purple ) for villains night, a pink dress for champagne girls and some bits for my pirate costume.

I have made a spreadsheet with all the days, the activities we have planned and the outfits I will be taking. That helps me keep it under control. :rotfl2:

I have also finalised what I am making for adults FE gifts and ordered the materials online. :thumbsup2

I am slowly getting there ( I think )

Welcome aboard Jenny and Fillippa!! We are Noel and John and this will be our 5th cruise on DCL. Our last cruise was the 2010 WBTA so if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask or PM me.

My DH John and I have created a website for you view other cruisers and sign in with your information. WBTA Website

Hi Noel and John!

THANK YOU so much for the fantastic list with all the info! I had my notebook out planning to go through all the boards and list the different activities, but you've done it all for me!!! Fantastic!

This will be my 3rd Disney Cruise, and I think 12th overall cruise. We did the Caribbean on Magic twice with our older daughter years ago. My 4 year old hasn't been on DCL yet and I am sooooo looking forward to the smiles that are in store for her! Our older daughter wishes she could go too but with school it just isn't possible.

Thanks again for the wonderful info and looking forward to meeting you!

Jenny

hazelandannie, were you still going ahead with the meet up next week?

We didn't make any set plans as noone really got back to us about it. I know alot of people are busy over the weekends in the build up to the cruise. But if there are people that want to meet up still then I'm happy to sort something out. The only date we aren't free is sat 20th aug.

know cliffy was only free this weekend, what do you think of friday night? i finish work at 8, and the more i'm thinking about it, 3pm on a saturday afternoon really wasnt the best idea anyway......

Yes I dont see a problem with that. We finish work at 7 so can easily be there by 8.

cool, hopefully dan and bruce can make it too. anyone else up for meeting at bluewater friday night?

and don't think i'll be bothering about asking for an upgrade at the port. i was originally booked in a 9d, and the only verandahs left at the mo are cat 7a, or 5c, the price differences are $1300 and $2000. i know the upgrade price at the port should be cheaper, but they wont be as cheap as we're hoping they may be!

Oooh, I would so love to see your spreadsheet. :worship: Are you able to email it to me? If so, my email is: tainapo@comcast.net
Since I just did the Med in June, I am wearing many things I just bought for that cruise, but since there are so many sea days and events, there seems to be lots more coordination for this cruise! And I'm packing more than one swimsuit and cover-up that I was able to get away with for the med cruise. I just got out my pirate hat today (its in with the Haloween stuff) and keep picking up little things here and there when I shop. I'm going to start packing all these misc accessories but a spreadsheet would be great! I also need to pick out jewelry for outfits, and this is one area I definitely overpack! I sell costume jewelry so I've got lots of bling to choose from! :thumbsup2 And I'm even considering packing my cowboy boots! They have a line dancing night and I can do better than wearing heels. If I do bring them, I'll be wearing them on the flight to save on luggage weight! ;)

I wonder how Jacqueline is doing? I hope things have got better for her and she pops in and lets us know how she is.

I've been thinking about her too, I am sure she will come back on here when she is feeling better. :wizard:

I know they are taking names for a 4th Palo Group brunch, I think Josh (giraffe104) is organizing it. :thumbsup2

We wont be able to make it, DH doesn't get in from work until 7/8pm & it's about a 90 min drive for us.

Have fun though, we'll see you all on the ship. :goodvibes

... and thepicketts (hasnt been online since june which i'm concerned about and hasnt responded to a facebook PM). ...

He's bringing his MIL home on this cruise, which makes me think he might be in Europe.

i need some comfortable flats for formal night...

don't think we wouldn't notice your thinking of buying shoes!

Before you can PM, you need 10 posts - make them short.

For example, are you from Sweden? or is that just your husband?
Which state are you from? ....
Ask a few questions, whatever.
You only need 5 more.

Hi everyone
Just got back from mini break with DH, which we seemed to spend shopping. Even though I don’t need any more clothes for this holiday, I still managed to buy some. DH reminded me we only have three cases between the two of us…. That’s ok one for him two for me, or maybe half for him and two and a half cases for me!!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

:cheer2::cheer2:Belated Happy Birthday Pat, sounds like you had a great day

I just wish we could have flown the day before the cruise but couldn't because of insurance issues.

Margaret, just curious what the insurance issues were?

We will be away for a total of 50 days, which is the max our insurance will allow due to health issues with DH. The first cruise is the Disney magic the last one is the QM2 back to the uk both were booked, 50 days start to end and we felt we couldn't take that risk of invalidating the insurance for the extra day, but sure all will be fine

Yay, the more the merrier :) it'll only be me I'm afraid as Gary's working late friday.

So 8pm ish at bluewater? I'm working til 8 so will get changed after work so don't need to sit round in my uniform all night! Where do you fancy meeting? Might be me being biased but think meeting at disney store would probably be best, you can do some shopping plus it's near the wintergarden so easy to park and plenty of places nearby.
Whats everyone thinking when it comes to are we going for dinner or just a drink?

Heard back from thepicketts, he's dropped out so there's room for two more on the airport transfer bus. PM me if you're interested

updated again:

not trying to be contraversial here but could you remember those of us have booked nursery times on certain days to go to activities as its not so easy for us to rebook and change times :thumbsup2

just checked no availability : (( could you take us off pub crawl thanx

You might make it all the more Disneyfied if you keep your uniform on!!

Sorry, didn't even think of this, but it's going to be impossible to please everyone all the time, think we've just gotta try and do the times where the majority of people can do it.
