Don't forget to keep checking the FE lists for additions in these last couple of days. BTW, if you are in Gibraltar, I added someone, then had to switch to another group to keep things "even." If you've checked it in the last 2 hours, you might want to check it again. Sorry about that!

Wow, I can't believe it's almost Aug 1!

Okay, I just thought of something else. Would all the GTY people be okay with posting their cabin assignments on the Google groups page rather than PM'ing me when you get your assignment?

I could post a topic under "Discussions" on the home page, and everyone could just reply to that. Then I can put the numbers on the FE lists without having to switch between PM's on here and the doc there. Also, Christina would be able to use that info for the candy swap lists, too, so everyone wouldn't have to send the same info twice.

It seems no time since it was this time last year and we were waiting for the WBTA then. These years go so fast.

I think once everyone's got a room then it'll speed by even quicker. At the moment it's dragging so much for so many of us!

the first season pretty much follows the storyline of the first book (apart from at the end of the first book deb finds out about dexter), but the subsequent seasons don't bear any resemblance to any of the rest of the books. i do wish they'd have made book two into a series, but its very gory and pretty sure it wouldn't have made it onto tv. it'd be more of an 18 certificate film.

Sounds good, what's the name of book two? I may get it for hubby to read on the cruise. :thumbsup2

went shopping earlier and bought two tops and (unlike claire :rotfl:) two pairs of trousers (pants). not necessarily for the cruise, but hey, its a start......

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

:cheer2: this is our 100th post! :cheer2: party:

Actually just realised it was 101st but better late than never! lol:

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: Keep chatting, they soon add up!

Couldn't remember so just wikipedia'd it and the second one is dearly devoted dexter. Gory but a good read :)

Cool, just found out there's a fifth dexter book out (just ordered from play) and a sixth out in October!

Also tried on my formal dress from last years cruise and it still fits! Also bit of an ego boost because it's actually a size 16, not an 18 as I thought it was :)

If you visit the Boqueria market on Las Ramblas, there is a wine store on the perimeter of the market - we bought very yummy yet inexpensive red wine there on the last trip (we had no idea what we were buying really, but it worked out fine!)

....

That's a good one :thumbsup2
The one at the port is very, very limited and higher in price. :sad2:

Sorry, I messed up. I meant to see if there is a shuttle from the port to the airport. ..
If anyone is planning a shuttle from the port to the airport, I would love to join in. Party of one and flight is at 11:55am on Sat.
...

We're planning to grab the Disney transport too. $35 & on board airline check-in of the bags is a nice perk.

Sounds good to me!! That way it will be easy to find. :hippie:

Just got back from Hobby Lobby and purchased a few neccessities for the cruise: a pink boa, a mask for Villains tonight, and paint, feathers, sequins, etc to fix it up! DD 15 is very crafty and will help me with it (or just make it for me! She's also lending me her tiara!) I also have been cleaning out my closet this week getting rid of larger sized clothes and found several really cute Disney apparel for the cruise that I forgot I owned - a cute white terry cover up with hood, a sequined Minnie zip up sweatshirt jacket, a pink DCL pirate shirt with sequins, a cute black and white tank dress with a Mickey profile on it, all XL or XXL. I'm wearing a L these days and hoping to be in a med by Christmas but it was like Christmas in my closet! :rotfl::rotfl: So I think alot of my wardrobe is going to be Disney! I do need a smaller bathing suit so may as well go Disney, right?:thumbsup2
Oh, and I found a long purplish burgundy colored dress that I wore at my sister's wedding 7 or 8 years ago. I am going to have it restyled into a new dress for Villains night! DD offered to make a new design (she loves Project Runway and sketch out styles). And it has a matching jacket! This part is getting fun now! :yay::rotfl::cool1:

Sounds good to me too pat. Could you ask us again when we all start getting assignments though as I'm likely to forget otherwise!

I don't think they have onboard check-in for SWA yet. :sad2: If there are no others interested in a shuttle, looks like I'll be booking DCL transport too.

There seemed to be a couple of transfers being organised in Barcelona, but I can't remember of hearing about any on the other end. You could start organising one and see if anyone wants to join in. I think it'd be harder on the way home though as people are going to have such varied departure times.

What a nice feeling that has to be, Karen. Way to go!!! :thumbsup2

Congratulations on the weight loss, Taina! :woohoo: That is going to be fun to reward yourself with a brand new wardrobe!

That's good, we'll spot each other across the pool by our Dexter books.

Sounds like you are getting nice & organised for the cruise. :thumbsup2

Well done on the weight loss.

Thanks Peggy!!! I'm at my half way point, and I bought alot of things for the Med cruise earlier this month, so that will hopefully get me thru the transatlantic. If not, I have a good seamstress!:cool1: And as they say in Weight Watchers, nothing tastes as good as thin feels! ;)

I'm doing a ton of shopping for the cruise much to DH's dismay! I have bought two dresses and two cardigan/shugs to go over the dresses. I'm plus size so I don't like my upper arms bare.

I also bought a new suit but it doesn't work well for me... :(

I am also wondering if you can help out... I'm confused about villans night or what to do for dressing up or whatever. Where should I look to get more info about this??? TIA! :)

What a fun week it has been :). Picked up euros/pounds at AAA this week; rate was as good as or better than what I found online, so I'm very satisfied. I picked up something I needed for my FE gifts but was having a hard time locating. Found a more reasonably priced van service for getting from the Barca hotel to the port (38 euro for the five of us, and I don't have to worry about finding taxis that day). Check, check, check.

And UPS delivered a few shirts that I ordered (not just for the trip, but it sounds like I'm not the only one treating myself lately ;)). I've been cleaning all day today but stop every now and then to "rest" by making a magnet :thumbsup2 or reading the boards :surfweb:. Suddenly I'm not sure 6 weeks is enough time to get everything else done that I need to...yikes!

It's a beautiful day in NE PA, but DD said it was 106 when she was at Schlitterbahn yesterday....I feel sorry for all you Texans! Hope you get some rain soon. I heard on tv last night that Texas technically qualifies as a desert now :sad2:.

Dressing up for villains night isn't compulsory heather so don't lose too much sleep over it. I'm 99% sure I won't be dressing up, as I don't have anything for it and it's one more thing to pack in our meagre luggage allowance. Then again my formal night dress (only one, it's the only dress I currently own) is purple so I could possibly get away with it....

just out of interest how many swimsuits is everyone taking, i am not sure how many to take, i have two already will i need more, thanks

Villains Night dressing up is entirely up to you. Last year they had a Masquerade Ball in the evening, though I don't think there was actually any dancing!!! Last year there were a few dressed as villains which was fun, but the Dis group for that cruise decided to dress in black and purple just to have a bit of fun. I think folk are going to do that this time too. So, whatever you feel like wearing if you want to join in. Some ladies have purple dresses, some black with purple accessories. Some are just wearing something purple and some are getting fun t shirts. Men can do whatever they want(or partners would like for them;)) You should get a chance to make masquerade masks during the day hopefully as they had a masked ball last year.

Last year I just wore a purple top with my normal skirt. This year I have my black short formal dress I might wear with a purple wrap and ear rings.

The shopping is the fun part! And bathing suits are always tricky. One of the ladies I do water aerobics with swear by the Miracle suit. I think Macy's carries them and they are very flattering. :)
As far as Villains, I know that dis'ers dress in black and purple, and there is some type of mask making I think on the ship, or you can make your own at home. Hobby Lobby had lots of things for this, and DD made a mask for school last year so she is experienced! ;) I am so lacking in the crafty department! :rotfl::rotfl:

Glad to hear the weather is so nice in the Northeast. We are usually visiting family in Maryland this time of year, but with DS now in Sweden and DD already starting marching band, it just didn't work out.
100 is normal for South Texas, its the drought that is killing us! We have wild pigs where we live, and they usually stay in the woods and eat wet roots, but since its been so dry, they have begun tearing up the subdivision because of the sprinklers! We have pig wire all around our split rail fence and a gate to keep them out. :thumbsup2 We did get a bit of rain last night for the first time in ages due to a tropical depression out in the Gulf. Now its back to hot and sunny! Not a cloud in the sky this am! Glorious morning for aqua aerobics! :cloud9:
