I am so sorry to hear of your father's passing. {{{HUGS}}}
I lost my Daddy 16 years ago :littleangel: and still miss him so...and my Mom passed away almost 2 weeks ago...:littleangel: UGH! It's been a rough July for so many - I've learned of so many losses. (Sorry to be such a downer.)

May your wonderful memories of your Dad help you through this difficult time...he is whole again and free from pain. :)
We need to get together on the cruise and make a toast to our parents!

Thank you all for you sympahties. It is a great feeling so many people that think of you.
And yes let's drink and make a toast to our parents on the cruise.

Aughhhhh! So frustrating!:mad::mad: :headache: I don't know why people say macs are supposed to be easier!

I brought a bottle of wine with me to the computer and opened it while I "worked" but didn't bring a cup. Being too lazy to get one, I've been sitting here drinking it straight from the bottle ;) VERY classy of me!! But I'm going to quit this for now and go get a cup...

Mac user here. I do the cheater's method. Open a Word document (or whatever word processing you use). Drag the graphic from the DISboard onto the open Word document. Click on the graphic and format it as either in front of or behind text. Then you can move it around on the page.

Since it is a horizontal graphic, you may want to first set up your Word document in landscape view and move the margins out to be very small, giving you more work space. When you drag the graphic into the document, it will fill up all available space, keeping it's own height - to - width ratio.

Then you can print your magnet, iron-on transfer, etc...

Hi GatorMomInNC
I am a Mac lover. But I had to get used when I started with it several years ago.
What is exactly your problem?
The advice to copy and paste the picture on a word document is what you can do. If you want a A4 format you select the picture and pull on the corner of the picture and make it lager. You can also make it smaller.
You can pm me if you want advice. Maybe I must find the right words to explain, because my programs are in Dutch, but I can translate it, or ask my son, because he has his programs all in English on his mac.

"I wish we had time to see anything in Barcelona. We don't get in until 10:00 AM the day of the cruise and DCL is taking us right to the port."
DID DISNEY ARRANGE YOUR FLIGHTS? IS THAT WHY YOU ARE COMING IN SO LATE?

My father is passed away this week. Nothing dramatic. It was a releave, because he had very much pain. He was 88 years old and broke his hip and shoulder a couple of weeks ago. And after an operation, a new hip. But they couldn't do anything on the shoulder. And he was dementing too.
My sister en me have made all the arangements for the funeral so now I have some time for the forum. I can now focus on the cruise.

Liesbeth, I am so sorry to hear your loss, may your memories get you through this grieving period.

Burnice

So I am trough more than 15 pages, because I wasn't on the forum for a couple of days. But I am back.

so very sorry to hear your sad news

Who do I PM to be added to the linked DIS'ers dining? I don't think I've done that yet and I didn't see it on the first page...

To all the people who have been so kind to respond to my request about my Mac and the logo - the problem I think is that I don't have any word processing. I thought that I could use my iPhoto to edit the image (shrink it and copy it so that it will fit multiple times onto one sheet of paper - I want the image to be about 2.5 x 4.5 inches - or as close to that as I can get without distorting the image) and then print it out so that I can have multiple print on 1 piece of paper. I think I will go to Kinko's and try and do it there on their equipment. I just hope that they don't prohibit me from printing because of the whole Disney images/copyright issue.

Thanks again for all the help!:thanks::disrocks:

Can you open a PDF file if emailed to you?

cliffy97 (Dan) is in charge of the linked dining.

Got the money, thanks.
We both love dexter, the books are awesome too, I'm planning on bringing a couple on the cruise and re-reading them.
We're on season five at the mo, I think you guys are on six?

We've not read the books, are they the same as the TV series or different stories?

I'll sing with you! Mind, I'll have to get good and drunk first, and at the best of times I sing like cats being tortured. But I'm game if you are! ;)

Ok it's a deal......providing you get about 10 other people to join in then I will stand at the back & mime. :rotfl2: :rotfl2::rotfl2:

We've finally been to see Harry Potter this morning, it was fab. Loved it! :thumbsup2

If you'd like to post the link to the image you want, since i've lost track, I will photoshop it onto a jpg and upload it to a photoprinting site like snapfish or walgreens.

So sorry for all the losses of parents and relatives. True enough it's 'a part of life' but that doesn't ease the pain when it happens to US. I can so sympathize - mine are both gone and my m-i-l has alzheimers so she's gone too, in a way. I will surely join you in lifting a glass in honor of our parents and others for whom we mourn.

Can't wait for 6 weeks... the next few weeks here are crazy busy. This weekend we have a huge rodeo in town and then we start getting ready for the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally (if your harley davidson fan I'm sure you have heard about it) there is so many people it is crazy. So I will be checking in periodically. Can't wait to meet everyone, good luck to all on getting your room assignments next week.

I made you a photo with 12 graphics on it - loaded it on photobucket:

00013v.jpg

I think you can just click on it then print. If that doesn't work, I'll email it to you as a PDF. If you would like to have it modified (perhaps no white space between the graphics, so trimming is easier, let me know).

Now I'm trying to figure out how you can print it. - Genius! You're on a MAC - just drag the above picture to your desktop; then double click and you are in Preview. "Apple+P" for print and you're there.

Made you another:

Looks like you have had a few responses already, but have to say I LOVE my Mac!! :cloud9:

What I do is click on an image & drag it to my desktop.

That's it!! Now you have it for resizing, adding to your signature, printing in a doc.... etc..

OK, my interest is piqued....Do you participate in or work at the rodeo? I'm assuming you're Harley riders, but the rodeo.....:confused3. I always liked going to these when I was a kid down south :goodvibes.

Today we are headed to wdw! We'll get there around 3pm and I want to visit the Disney character outlet near Universal, so we're going there first and then to Cape May Clam Bake for an early dinner (crab legs & oreo bonbons make my day!!) Then probably off to Epcot for strolling World Showcase and to see Illuminations - or Magic Kingdom, we're undecided, then back home.

Be back tomorrow!!!

Thanks Liz, that is very useful info. :goodvibes

I have been to Miami beach once, although it was only for a few hours as we had a flight stop over on our way to the Grand Bahamas, we all jumped in a cab & hit the beach...well you have to don't you!!! :cloud9:

You're welcome! I've never actually been "on the sand" in Miami Beach. We've driven through the oceanfront art deco area a bunch of times, but never seem to get to the beach there. I guess I know more about the drive to get there than actually being in Miami Beach!

My husband Joe has stayed at the Biltmore in Miami (not Miami Beach) for a conference & we've stayed in Coral Gables area (not too far from MIA) before, it is a nice area for shopping and dining down there too if you are staying overnight - like Ponce de Leon Blvd. is a really pretty street w/ nice restaurants.

We zoomed down the turnpike to Miami last time and I think it took 4+ hours. How long would it take to drive the route you are suggesting? It sounds nice. We are flying home from Miami again this time too.

It depends where you exit 95. If you exit around Jupiter it will take you 4-5 hours - but that's when using the Beeline Expressway (528) to get to 95. We find it takes a bit longer if you go from 4 to 95 b/c of the Orlando traffic, so 528 is easier for us.

If you plan to stop along the way & make a day of it, 6-7 hours would be more like it, but we've done the drive 528-95-Exit Jupiter-A1A in 5 hours. To cut time, exit Palm Beach instead of Jupiter.

..and he said, why don't we go to Hawaii for Christmas! I was so thrilled, and told DD when we got home, and I really am excited to visit Pearl Harbor again and this time with her as she is applying to the Naval Academy. :) And of course go have a peek at the new DVC property being built there. We are not DVC'ers but who knows? Although, DVC can't touch the $22 per nt cabin rates I saw posted for the AF resort! :thumbsup2

How lovely! Now you can start planning a Hawaii vacation for the holidays.

Also there is a part on 95 around Port St. Lucie where there aren't really any food/beverage stops, so make sure you either eat before that point or plan to eat a while after.

Just wanted to clarify something since I live in the area. I think you may have it backwards. Port St Lucie is a great place to stop and eat. Exit 121 has all the major chains, Fridays, Starbucks, Duffy's, Chili's, Outback, Panda Express, PA BBQ, Friendlys, Carrabas, Ruby Tuesdays, Sam Snead's, Chipolte, McDonalds, Wendys, Burger King, Arbys, Tempanyakki, Sushi, Tutti Frutti etc along with amazing local eateries like my favorite Red Ginger Asian Bistro. There is a 14 screen movie theatre, batting cages, bowling, roller skating, mini golf, laser tag and the Mets stadium. All major hotel chains are also present such as Marriott, Hilton, Residence Inn, Hampton Inn, Sheraton, Holiday Inn Express etc. This is a beautiful clean area. Most of these places can be seen from 95, very close proximity from the exit. Stop by and say Hi! People are very friendly here. If you miss exit 121, no worries, exit 118 in PSL is equally amazing with Olive Garden, Longhorn among others. ;)

I said "on 95 around Port St. Lucie" not in Port St. Lucie. There is a stretch of freeway either a bit before or a bit after Port St. Lucie that doesn't have any food stops - I couldn't remember if it was before or after...we actually ate in Port St. Lucie last time we drove through.

Sorry to confuse you Claire or offend you Linda! :flower3:

Lot's of pages to catch up on as usual. I've bee so busy with packing my stuff up at the school and finishing up that I haven't had a chance to check in as frequently as usual. Yesterday was my last day of school!:banana::banana: Now I start working in the real world on Tuesday and making real world money :thumbsup2

Lorelei is officially in the toddler room now so I guess that means she's also officially a toddler. She seems to be adjusting well... I just always worry because she's already small for her age and now she's the youngest in her room. But she's sassy and can take care of herself.

I called today and reserved a day room at the MCO Hyatt since our flight home isn't until 6:30 pm. It will be nice to not have to just hang out in the food court and Lorelei will have a place to take a nap. One more thing to check off the list!

While I was at AAA I saw the CUTEST hard-sided Disney luggage, and then lo and behold, I get home and I'm on this board and you guys are talking about luggage.
Does anyone have any experience with this luggage?
I have never heard anything bad about HEYS luggage. Have you seen this bag? http://www.ebags.com/product/disney...al-world-26-spinner/213150?productid=10133522 I was thinking of getting this one but am not sure we really need another piece of luggage for the trip. It's so much prettier in person and would definitely be easy to spot!

Karen, I would have skipped dinner for an opportunity to play in the lab. Truly. And I really, really like dinner.

Karen (Rikersmom)

I would defintely agree with you there! Flubber and those other activities sound so fun :goodvibes

Copied from the Easjet Website ... HOLD BAGGAGE !!
Thanks Sarah for the info!

We have started watching Dexter on DVD - all I can say is WOW. Just finished season 1 and are now 4 episodes into Season 2. Talk about addicting!

(No spoilers please - lalalalalalalalalalalala - plugging ears!)
We love Dexter. We're behind a season though. Have fun catching up; it is a very addictive show. popcorn::

We've not read the books, are they the same as the TV series or different stories?

the first season pretty much follows the storyline of the first book (apart from at the end of the first book deb finds out about dexter), but the subsequent seasons don't bear any resemblance to any of the rest of the books. i do wish they'd have made book two into a series, but its very gory and pretty sure it wouldn't have made it onto tv. it'd be more of an 18 certificate film.

Hi Liz, look forward to hearing what you think of Cape May Clam Bake. We have an ADR in September.

Have fun:goodvibes
