Aughhhhh! So frustrating!:mad::mad: :headache: I don't know why people say macs are supposed to be easier!

I brought a bottle of wine with me to the computer and opened it while I "worked" but didn't bring a cup. Being too lazy to get one, I've been sitting here drinking it straight from the bottle ;) VERY classy of me!! But I'm going to quit this for now and go get a cup...

My flight leaves at 11:55am. Party of one. :)

DH and I are taking DCL's bus transfer to MCO from the port.

.
My father is passed away this week.

Sorry to hear your sad news, Liesbeth.

We have started watching Dexter on DVD - all I can say is WOW. Just finished season 1 and are now 4 episodes into Season 2. Talk about addicting!

(No spoilers please - lalalalalalalalalalalala - plugging ears!)

We have the first 4 seasons on DVD and absolutely love the show :) Unfortunately Season 5 wasn't available on the cable channels that we had and it still isn't out here on DVD either. DS was telling me that Netflix in the US carries all of the seasons, but in Canada, Netflix doesn't :sad2: So we will continue waiting for the next installment:sad1:

Kind of, I opened a photobucket account, and I now have that in there and on my desktop, but I can't figure out how to manipulate the size and print it...I'm using a Mac...

Oh, I think I assumed you wanted it for your signature. Sorry! Can you put it into iPhoto and make it bigger? Or can you put it into pages and make it bigger on there and print it out? Is that helpful?

So I am trough more than 15 pages, because I wasn't on the forum for a couple of days. But I am back.

I am so sorry to hear of your Fathers passing. I know he will be missed dearly. But just think, he will get to see all of the places you will traveling to. I know he will enjoy seeing you and his grandson having such a wonderful time. He will be in the prayers of all of us. Rest in peace.

Evelyn

Aughhhhh! So frustrating!:mad::mad: :headache: I don't know why people say macs are supposed to be easier!...

Mac user here. I do the cheater's method. Open a Word document (or whatever word processing you use). Drag the graphic from the DISboard onto the open Word document. Click on the graphic and format it as either in front of or behind text. Then you can move it around on the page.

Since it is a horizontal graphic, you may want to first set up your Word document in landscape view and move the margins out to be very small, giving you more work space. When you drag the graphic into the document, it will fill up all available space, keeping it's own height - to - width ratio.

Then you can print your magnet, iron-on transfer, etc...

Copied from the Easjet Website ... HOLD BAGGAGE !!

Hold luggage - how much can you take?

Each passenger who pays for a hold bag can take up to 20kg of luggage. This weight allowance applies to the passenger rather than to the bag so purchasing extra bags is possible but will not increase the weight allowance. If you think you’ll need to take a little bit more with you, you can buy some extra weight – it’s best to do this online before you fly as the online charges are considerably cheaper than at the airport.

If you are travelling in a group of two or more you may spread the weight of your luggage across the bags. For example, two passengers with a bag each may carry 20kg of luggage each, but if you wish to put 18kg in one bag and 22kg in the other, then that’s okay with us. You’ve just got to remember that you cannot exceed the 40kg total weight allowance without paying additional charges.

A few really important things to remember:

We support health and safety guidance for checked luggage and recommend that you keep the weight of each individual bag below 23kg wherever possible.
Legally we must apply a maximum limit of 32kg so any individual bag weighing more than 32kg cannot be accepted!
Infants who share your seat do not have a baggage allowance so all their stuff will have to go into your bag!
To keep our fares low, be able to board the plane as quickly as possible and ensure your comfort onboard, if you bring more than one piece of hand baggage we’ll check the extra into the hold. We’ll need to charge you for this – at check-in this fee is £25 due to higher handling costs at the airport if you don't buy the bag online and at the boarding gate this increases to £40 to ensure that we can bring you to your destination on time.

Yes, these rules were changed as of April 2011. I traveled May...2 weeks later, not reading my email from Easyjet, too excited for my trip on the EBTA. Not knowing I was breaking rules, I bypassed checkin with my 2 hang luggage items (each person had 2 items as hand luggage which is ok on international & USA Canada flights) I was at the boarding gate with my DD, and the Hand-Luggage Police stopped us (3 Easyjet female employees) stopped me. "No, you cannot board with 2 pieces each---you will have to check one." (I was stunned that I had been stopped, and then computed their words to mean We Want Your Money) I tried to barter, telling them I didn't have a credit card, but one of the 3 was tough, and radioed on her 2-way to baggage in the airplane to take off my luggage, not to allow me on the flight. ???
They were asking 50 euro for each extra piece= 100 euros. They gave me a receipt and I board after paying in cash. I was so upset.
Again I am traveling Easyjet on the day of boarding the ship, so watch out for a hot-headed 5'11" female who was just confronted once again by the EJ baggage police!!:scared1: (their airfare rates are very competitive and will give me another chance)

When I switched to MAC from PC I thought it was much easier but I know there are plenty of people who do not feel that way. I can't imagine I went so long without my mac. I'm now in love!!! I could be an Apple spokes person. :rotfl2:

I would have done the same thing with the wine, especially if no one else was drinking from the bottle. Heck, I would have even done it if someone like my hubby or bff was drinking with me. It's all good! :) Why dirty a glass... right? :dance3:

Just got back from dinner with DH and have 2 glasses of wine on board (that's really my limit - I know, I'm such a cheap date! :rotfl: I got an internet coupon from a nice restaurant we frequent giving us a free entree for our anniversary (it was July 6th - 20 years - celebrated on the Magic!). Its so rare we dine without our kids so we got a chance to catch up. DH knew I was cruising but thought it was next year! :lmao::confused3 Anyway, I enlightened him that I was leaving in less than 6 weeks and told him I have a great roomate from the windy city whom I met on the Disboards and told him about all the wonderful folks from all over the world I will be getting to hang out with for 14 days! What a great DH! He was very happy for me! Then we started discussing past travels and I was telling him about the AF recreational area in Oahu, and he said, why don't we go to Hawaii for Christmas! I was so thrilled, and told DD when we got home, and I really am excited to visit Pearl Harbor again and this time with her as she is applying to the Naval Academy. :) And of course go have a peek at the new DVC property being built there. We are not DVC'ers but who knows? Although, DVC can't touch the $22 per nt cabin rates I saw posted for the AF resort! :thumbsup2

Classy enough for me, and i am much to scared of change to try a MAC

If you want to take the scenic route, I would do 95 all the way down to Jupiter area and then take an exit to A1A and drive the coastal way (A1A) down to Miami from there - this route will take about 4-5 hours, you can cut the time by leaving 95 later (like at Boca Raton or Palm Beach instead of Jupiter.)

Also there is a part on 95 around Port St. Lucie where there aren't really any food/beverage stops, so make sure you either eat before that point or plan to eat a while after.

Just wanted to clarify something since I live in the area. I think you may have it backwards. Port St Lucie is a great place to stop and eat. Exit 121 has all the major chains, Fridays, Starbucks, Duffy's, Chili's, Outback, Panda Express, PA BBQ, Friendlys, Carrabas, Ruby Tuesdays, Sam Snead's, Chipolte, McDonalds, Wendys, Burger King, Arbys, Tempanyakki, Sushi, Tutti Frutti etc along with amazing local eateries like my favorite Red Ginger Asian Bistro. There is a 14 screen movie theatre, batting cages, bowling, roller skating, mini golf, laser tag and the Mets stadium. All major hotel chains are also present such as Marriott, Hilton, Residence Inn, Hampton Inn, Sheraton, Holiday Inn Express etc. This is a beautiful clean area. Most of these places can be seen from 95, very close proximity from the exit. Stop by and say Hi! People are very friendly here. If you miss exit 121, no worries, exit 118 in PSL is equally amazing with Olive Garden, Longhorn among others. ;)

Actually, now that I have it, I could add it to my signature:idea:

If I knew how to do that :rolleyes1

Yeah, I'm brainstorming on FEs and I had an idea for something that requires me to be able to print that logo...I'll work on it some more tomorrow. Thanks for your help

I know, and I'm afraid if we don't get it today, nothing will happen all weekend, and we'll have to wait until MONDAY!!! :sad2::sad2:

I've convinced myself they won't be assigned until the 30 day mark...so I will be overjoyed when they come out next week!:cool1: I hope they're upgrading like crazy pixiedust:since the GTYs are back ::yes::.

My father is passed away this week. Nothing dramatic. It was a releave, because he had very much pain. He was 88 years old and broke his hip and shoulder a couple of weeks ago. And after an operation, a new hip. But they couldn't do anything on the shoulder. And he was dementing too.
My sister en me have made all the arangements for the funeral so now I have some time for the forum. I can now focus on the cruise.

Even though he is out of his misery now, your loss is very real . So many of us are dealing with elderly parents and age-related issues (e.g. my 90 yr old MIL); it can be exhausting. I also deal with this population in my job, which I love but certainly find stressful at times. You have my deepest sympathy. Hopefully, focusing on the cruise will bring you joy and relaxation :flower3:.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

We have never done Rockin Bar D but I am so looking forward to it on this cruise. :goodvibes

I have only ever done Karaoke once - never again!!! Well I suppose it depends on how drunk I am and how many others will sing with me. :lmao: ;)

I'll sing with you! Mind, I'll have to get good and drunk first, and at the best of times I sing like cats being tortured. But I'm game if you are! ;)

Got the money, thanks.
We both love dexter, the books are awesome too, I'm planning on bringing a couple on the cruise and re-reading them.
We're on season five at the mo, I think you guys are on six?

I feel I have missed a good TV series.:sad2: However I am looking for a book or two to take. What are they like/about?

It's 70 miles from Palm Beach to Miami Beach down (or up) US1 and 1A and can take 2-3 hours but it's worth the trip at least once. The mansions are really beautiful in Palm Beach and includes Donald Trump's place. The Kennedy mansion is also in PB but very difficult to find and a bit out of the way. You would need directions. The trip from Vero Beach to Jupiter Beach also has some beautiful ocean scenery.

Thank you. I will have to go back and find the route that you or someone posted and we can think about it more.

Liesbeth - our thoughts are with you and you're family at this sad time.:hug:

so sorry to hear about your father, my thoughts are with you and your family.
we're going through something similar with gary's dad at the moment, he's still alive, but not coping and recovering very well from treatment for a recurring brain tumor, we think its back again as he's going downhill rapidly and not responding to anything anymore.
as much as it seems horrible to say "its a relief", it actually is, as its never easy seeing a loved one in pain.
Karen I am so sorry to see that your FIL is still in pain.

I feel I have missed a good TV series.:sad2:
Me too Marilyn, I watch the trailers and never got round to watching the series:(

Yes you are on/off A1A a lot but from West Palm Beach south even US1 is pretty interesting. I grew up in that area in the 50's and 60's and to add to the recommendations I recommend Lake Worth (my hometown) Beach for a quick look (and the pier) and especially Boynton Beach Inlet...my most favorite place in the world! :boat: Pull in and park and just watch the water rushing in or out (depending on the tide) for a few minutes and walk across the street to the beach. Watching the boats maneuvering the current can be pretty interesting to watch. The drive down Ft Lauderdale Beach is pretty awesome too...the big Spring Break Hangout back in the day. :cool2:

Thanks for the info, I will make noes of all the recommendations and will see how much time we have on the day as we have to be at the airport around 5pm to check in for our flight home.

We zoomed down the turnpike to Miami last time and I think it took 4+ hours. How long would it take to drive the route you are suggesting? It sounds nice. We are flying home from Miami again this time too.

I think it's only about an extra 30 mins drive but it depends how much you stop I suppose, but if you've got nothing else planned that day it might be a nice way to see a bit of the coast line rather than the Turnpike. :lmao:

yeah i realised that today too. all the more scary considering i wont have any money to get spending money or new clothes or anything else til august payday due to the existing balance on my credit card, but i'm happy to say i'll at least be paying that off tomorrow!

Sorry to hear about Garys dad not getting any better, is Gary still spending a lot of time in Scotland with him?

I am so sorry to hear of your father's passing. {{{HUGS}}}
I lost my Daddy 16 years ago :littleangel: and still miss him so...and my Mom passed away almost 2 weeks ago...:littleangel: UGH! It's been a rough July for so many - I've learned of so many losses. (Sorry to be such a downer.)

May your wonderful memories of your Dad help you through this difficult time...he is whole again and free from pain. :)
We need to get together on the cruise and make a toast to our parents!

So sorry to hear about your mom.

Could've been worse, you could have Ben and jerry's phish food, and have fish swimming in your wine!

Ewww that is gross. :rotfl2:

Aww come one Claire, I bet you and Mary could get up and do a duet after a few Snowballs ... how about this one ...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xG5MT3sCKBg

You could use your champagne girls boa :rotfl2:

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I think I may have lost my voice that night. ;)
