Okay, so apparently there are 875 rooms, so that is over 90% of the rooms sold which is actually higher than I would have thought... I know this is selfish, but I hope they don't sell ANYMORE!! I want upgrades and no crowds. It would be pretty hard for most people to do a last minute, 2 week, TA cruise, I would think...
There's at least 73 staterooms available; 2 categories are selling as GTY; 4 of those staterooms are 1-bedroom concierge, including the largest of these, the handicapped far aft with the GIANT balcony (8602 and 8102).

okay, remember I said "at least;" DCL doesn't always show all available staterooms in a category - it could have lots more still available. I wouldn't believe that we are at 90% capacity right now (but the prices seem to indicate that we could have more than I suspect, as they don't have fire-sale pricing).

CUPID SHUFFLE

"DANCE DESCRIPTION:
Danced to the song of the same name by the hip-hop artist Cupid, the Cupid Shuffle has become a very popular dance. The dance is a hip-hop variant of country line dancing and is extremely simple to perform, especially since all the steps are sung in the lyrics:

“To the right, to the right, to the right, to the right” (Slide your body to the right.)

“To the left, to the left, to the left, to the left” (Slide your body to the left.)

“Now kick, now kick, now kick, now kick” (Kick your feet out front using alternating feet.)

“Now walk it by yourself.” (Pretend to walk in place, sometimes adding a dipping motion.)

The dance quickly gained popularity at nightclubs due to its easy-to-learn nature and catchy beat. Even the most novice dancer can perform it by the end of the second chorus. Many have compared the dance to the Cha Cha Slide, which was released in 1996 by DJ Casper of Chicago. The Cupid Shuffle began its rise to popularity in Lafayette, Louisiana, Cupid’s home town."

Always in groups of four:
  1. slide right
  2. slide left
  3. kick
  4. pretend walk
(this may include a turn to the left - watch those around you).

Hi Michelle

We've eaten twice at the Cape May Clam Bake - the first time was many years ago, the second was in March. We enjoyed it and thought it was good for a buffet. It was very busy the second time we dined there, probably due to the fact that Disney now offers the dining plan and as buffets are usually the most expensive option, a lot of people choose them. That being said, we were sat almost immediately, the buffet was replenished frequently and the server also refreshed drinks on a regular basis. :)

We didn't have such a good experience at Boma at the Animal Kingdom Lodge - they forgot that we had checked in for our "reservation" and only remembered to seat us almost 45 mins later after I went and asked why other groups of 2 were being seated when they arrived much later than us. The server was also clearly frazzled and was having difficulty coping with all of the tables assigned to him. There were long line ups for food at some stations, no signs or chefs on hand to describe some of the dishes and the tables were extremely close to each other. In all honestly, it felt like being in a zoo and we will definitely not return there again, which is a shame as we had eaten there shortly after it had opened and had an awesome meal on that occasion, but that was pre-Disney Dining plan.

It was with trepidation that we went to Ohana's the following night, but our experience there was the complete opposite - awesome food and attentive service (this is where you can eat as much as you like, but the servers bring the food to you). We plan on eating here again when next in WDW. :)

Where is the cape may clam bake?

as of two and a half weeks ago we were at 75% capacity, so i wouldnt be surprised if we were creeping towards 90%.

Welcome back Margaret!!! I've been wondering where you were.

Just take your packing in stages, you don't have to do it all in one day so take your time. I find making a list really helps. As for getting your holiday mojo back, how's this for inspiration?

That was definitely not long enough! I'm already so excited, and a bit overtired, so it made me tear up! :rotfl:

We fully intend on wearing (nice) jeans on the casual nights, either with polos or button down shirts and nice shoes (the same black ones we would be wearing with our suits on formal nights).

I'm so glad, I'll never get DH to wear dress pants for all the meals, but black jeans are a staple! :yay:

I'll be packing my money belt as I'll be traveling solo. Did alot of solo traveling before without one, but that was when I was young and naive (the 80's).;)
I was young in the 80's too :goodvibes

Hi Lorraine...thank you for that. We've eaten at Cape May before but not at the clam bake.

I wasn't impressed with Boma either. I know people rave about it but it just wasn't impressed with it.

Love 'Ohana too. Can't get a reservation for when we are there in September though:(
Yesterday was interesting...we drove to the Orlando Premium Outlets on International Drive and to the Disney outlet there. The outlet was awesome w/ lots of cool things and DCL stuff too, but getting there and finding parking was a bit of a nightmare - I don't think we'll ever visit those outlets on a Saturday in summer vacation time again, it was just a total zoo.

Anyhow, I got a new shirt and some other things and then we raced to get to Cape May for our dinner (traffic held us up a bit.) We got there and ate & then walked into Epcot. Went to Living Seas pavillion and looked at the aquariums - especially the dolphin one! - then we rode Spaceship Earth and walked World Showcase. Got the best refresher ever - a strawberry oolong frozen tea in China and then walked out of Epcot and back to Beach Club to drive home.

Unfortunately, there was a huge accident that closed the freeway just past Tampa, so we were delayed about an hour and didn't make it home until midnight. But still it was a really nice day!

I am really looking forward to less crowding at Disney though, I can't wait until summer is over!

Yesterday was our 4th time there I think. We discovered it last year and due to the snow crab legs, we fell in love. There just isn't anywhere in our city that does an all-you-can-eat crab legs thing so it is a treat.

It was more busy yesterday that I have ever seen it, and I prefer it when its less crowded so there aren't really any lines, but it was still good. I think I'll wait until busy season is over before we return though.

The crab is good, the mussels and shrimp/calamari are very good. I always start with a few of the salads which I like and also have one of the parker house rolls. Then for dessert its oreo bonbons for me!

If you like steamed seafood it is a great place to go. If you aren't a huge seafood fan, there are things there for you to have, but ther are other buffets that might be better for you. :thumbsup2

Thank you - I am looking forward to our meal there.

Alright - How many of you will be checking the DCL site first thing in the morning for room assignments??? :surfweb:

I'll be one of them! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Fingers crossed that it is soon... I hope there is lots of pixiedust: pixie dust pixiedust: for everyone. ;)
Fingers crossed and loads of pixiedust: for your room assignments soon.

Where's the LIKE button on DISboards?!?!? :thumbsup2
LOL's Mandy :thumbsup2

I was told by the lady I was talking too about the drink tastings that all GTY'ers would have their room numbers by the 30 day mark.

I guess they need the room assignments done before they print the luggage labels out. Perhaps today is THE day!!!;)

I think Claire(Pinky) has already made her mask so if you have any ideas now perhaps you might like to make one at home to take.

Yep I have made mine. :cool1:

I'm still waiting for Lee to decorate his though, my guess is that two days before we leave I will be doing it for him....

I think that's a very good idea... Hmmm. I wonder if DCL can do anything like blow the horn a couple times or something. It is kind of a big deal and I think there will be many Americans on the cruise. Maybe could could stand in solidarity as we play the national anthem. I don't know what but I do really like your idea!

It's not just Americans. ;) I like to watch the memorial service too, I will never forget that day. :guilty:

Hi everyone and welcome to all those who have joined in the last few weeks. The last time I was on the dis we were on thread 4, and although I've read the posts I fear they have gone into my brain one side and out the other.... oh so many !!
Any idea's on getting my holiday mojo back please !!... really need this holiday right now but will need at least 40 days to pack !!

margaret

Update on candy swap

I been away over the weekend so I haven't had a chance to update the candy swap but I will do it today.

I think I'm going to make groups of 10 stateroom. That way I can grant everyones wishes regarding group size.

I will PM everyone that I haven't heard from, so I can start making the groups, but I will not post the groups until after August 15th. Is yhat OK with everyone?

We spent the weekend sailing on my inlaws boat, so now we're ready for the "Mickey boat". My inlaws boat is old and humit (not sure if thats the correct word). It has no running water and the toilet is the size of a broomcloset:lmao: But we had a very nice time.

Just one little mishap - I found out that my swimsuit has gotten to big, so I need to go shopping :scared1::laughing::cool1:

10 is fine with me and the 15th is good. :)

Glad you had a good time away. Have fun shopping.

Just to make myself clear (darn language barrier:laughing:). I will make groups of 10. But everyone that PM'ed me, that they would like to have 20 staterooms or more, will be put in more than one group (like the FE-groups).

Good Morning, Happy Cruisers!

This week, I will do my "test pack". DH says I should not worry about luggage, he will pay for me to take a second suitcase. But i DO worry about it - I worry about managing it all, with one hand occupied by a cane. I tried to pursuade Dimples (Teddybear) to stay home, but she says i'm going to need her for the flight. (Also, she has a new dress she's just jonesing to wear).

Remember those cabins all *Can* be occupied by more than 2 people - but on this cruise there are WAY more twos than families. So even if we're running full, it shouldn'
t feel all that crowded. The Panama in January sure didn't feel that way

Happy day, all.

Amen sister! :thumbsup2

I know Disney is conservative on the times they tell you not to book a flight back before on the day the cruise ends, but for anyone that has done this before, could you make a 10:35 am flight. Time to book my flight back while I decide if I want to stay 2 days extra or not.

DD 15 and I went shopping yesterday at one of my favorite places - the Container Store. I can't seem to leave that store without major shopping damage! :rotfl: We have a sunroom right off our kitchen that has become a major junkroom of DH's, and we are reclaiming the space for a library/homework room! They had lots of storage containers for papers in different colors - almost went with the Dis Green but decided on orange and will be repainting the room a Tuscan orange (we think!). The room is mostly windows (9 wall windows and 3 big skylight windows) so it won't be as shocking as it sounds! Next, she saw a DSW shoe store and had to stop in. She's a shoe fanatic, me not so much, and this is the first time I was ever in a DSW but OMG, the shoes they had! And the prices, esp with the further clearance! I found the cutest platform wedges! And she had been looking all over Barcelona for a shoe with a low heel and ankle strap like the flamenco dancers wear and found the cutest pair in a tan color! So cute! Now I know where all the women hang out on a Sunday afternoon - at DSW trying on shoes! :rotfl::rotfl:

It all sounds good to me. :thumbsup2

I haven't done this cruise before but I really don't think you'd be able to make a flight that early, is there nothing after noon or 1pm? Hope you can find something a bit later. :wizard:
