Just found this message board so thought we'd say hi. We are Larissa (30), Robert (35) and Liam, who will turn 3 while on the cruise. We live in the Philadelphia area now, having moved out here a few months back from California.

Looks like we have a lot of catching up to do!

Welcome! We are Leanne, DH Ken and DD Morgan (9). This is our first ever cruise! We are originally from Alberta, Canada but now we live in Crimea, Ukraine.

You can go on and on if you like! It's probably as close as I'll ever get to there!

Actually it is very beautiful here in the summer, if you ever get a chance to come you should. I'll post some of my favourite places once DH can help me.

Welcome aboard Larissa, Robert & Liam

We are Neil & Michelle, 4th Disney Cruise, first Transatlantic.

Hi and welcome:wave: We are Marilyn and John. It is our 8th cruise and 2nd Transatlantic. We love the sea days!!:cool1:

welcome to all our new cruisers! i'm karen (one of many on this cruise!) and i'm travelling with DH gary.

less than 7 weeks to go! now if only DCL could put us out of our misery and give us cabin assignments......

Hopefully it won't be much longer Karen :)

I remember when we were GTY once I looked several times a day to see if we had our cabin!! I wonder if they realise how obsessed we become?:rotfl2:

I think they underestimate the obsessiveness!

Welcome Larissa, Robert & Liam. we are Claire & Lee from the UK, this is our 3rd dcl cruise but 1st TA.

:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: Lots of luck to those waiting GTY assignments, hopefully they will be issued this week.

Not sure who I need to ask this to, but is there any additional interest in a 3rd group for Palos brunch in the private dining room? Looks like we have several new cruisers and they may not know about that one. Palo's brunch is so good! And its especially fun to have it with a group of Dis'ers! :thumbsup2

Also, does anyone know about claiming back VAT tax? If we buy goods in Europe, can we reclaim them? I know if you are flying out, you have to have paperwork stamped by a customs agent at the airport. How would that work for the TA?

By the way, I've been having nightly dreams about the cruise and Barcelona. I am officially obsessed! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

WElcome aboard ... we are Sarah and Tony from Wales and this is our 3rd DCL cruise and second WBTA .... last years was so good we had no choice but to rebook .. the sea days are soooo relaxing !!

This is the first time we haven't been GTY and it all seems very relaxed .. no checking online at all, although once the allocations come out I may be checking to see if I have been pixie dusted. Not to worried if I haven't though, I am looking forward to the sideways experience :thumbsup2

Not sure, but I found some useful information here:

http://www.ricksteves.com/plan/tips/vat.htm

When we went to Barcelona on the last cruise, the limit was $130 in order to claim and it usually had to be from the same store. You have to get the stamp. They may have something at the port, but honestly, I can't remember, we did it at the airport.

:welcome: to all the new cruisers! We are Lauren, James, and Lorelei from West Virginia. This our 6th Disney cruise but 1st TA. We're all going to have so much fun. :goodvibes

I'm happy to say Lorelei's party went off without a hitch! It was a little hot but the kids and adults had so much fun. We always wait to open presents till everyone's left though and she was so tired she only opened 3 and gave up. I guess we'll do the rest today. Maybe she just wants to extend her birthday fun  Now we can focus on the trip more.

Sarah- I can only imagine how you feel with Taryn so far. Glad you finally heard from her. Lorelei moves to the 2 yo room at daycare on Monday and I'm dreading it. I know she'll love it because there's "big kid" toys and such but I just want to keep her small forever.

:welcome: aboard all new cruisers!! We are Mary and DH Stevie from Scotland. This will be our 9th Disney cruise and we did also did last year's WBTA, which was amaziing :cool1:

You worry even more about your kids being away when you hear about tragic events and atrocities like those unfolding in Norway just now .... our hearts go out to the parents of those young people, and all of those involved. :sad2::sad1::sad2::sad1: The world is sometimes a very sad place :sad1:

Ditto Sarah. We saw the news en route yesterday and couldn't believe that the second incident happened, Stevie and I couldn't believe it. How awful :sad2:

Well we arrived safely at Orlando last night and flew in just at the exact same time as a thunderstorm and had to sit on the tarmac for 30 minutes till it passed over. No too bad as they turned the entertainment back on.

We were really excited yesterday, as we were on a brand new virgin aircraft with "on demand" tv which made such a huge difference. Only managed 4 films

Watch out credit cards..... Malls here we come!!!! Magic Kingdom this afternoon :lovestruc

Welcome aboard. :wave2: We are Mike and Tabitha from Orlando. This is our third Disney cruise and second TA. We are dragging *Flower* and her husband along as well as another couple of other friends....kicking and screaming of course.:rotfl:

NO....STOP....PLEASE....I CAN'T.......I COULDN'T POSSIBLY.....well, okay! :lmao::lmao::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl::rotfl:

There is a 3rd group starting to form... I know I'm the first on it, but we need more people... if any of the new cruisers would like to join to have brunch at palo together, private message auntlynne, and let us know on here!! I got a reservation for palo alone, but a group would be so much fun. Welcome aboard

Yes, the group brunch is just fabulous! And if you like pizzas, when we do group brunches we order a variety of them and get to sample and share. Dining starts at 10:30am for the private group and we usually stay there till 1pm! Wear your stretchy pants that day!!! :rotfl::rotfl: They will also fix you a plate of desserts to go as I always seem to be stuffed before getting to those! Unless you start with desserts first!:thumbsup2:cloud9:

Don't be! We ordered apps, entrees and drinks... we almost couldn't fit the cake. Although, the factory has nothing on real New York Cheesecake... so lite and delicious.

I just booked my boston to london flight! Flying out the 7th on iceland air. landing in iceland at 630a. taking a tour/going to blue lagoon, finishing the flight at 430. London town days and nights til the 10th!

For those looking to get a good deal from the US, now is the time. the FAA is in a brief shut down and is not collecting FAA taxes on any flights, so prices are way down! bad for the US Government, great for me!

Good for you!!! I'll bet you feel so much better having those arrangements set. :thumbsup2

Has anyone else caught Disney's Winnie the Pooh movie? We just saw it and fell in love.

Yes we saw it last Friday. I'm a big Pooh fan and delighted that they're bringing the old bear out again. I thought it was very cute.

Dreams really do come true :woohoo:

The brunch is sounding better and better. Our new friends better join up for the 3rd group brunch!!! pirate: When I called DCL to book my airport transfers, I told her I had managed to snag a reservation at palo and the woman got all excited.

Well, we're definitely going to ditch the October cruise in favor of a week at the parks. I may see if we can transfer the ressie - with the onboard booking discount - to another cruise, but if not, we haven't yet entered the penalty phase, so no harm done there.

I've been looking at possible restaurants for our anniversary. It seems Flying Fish Cafe has a new (well, new to me) Chef's dinner. Six courses with wine specifically chosen for each course, and the menu is different every night. Sounds like our kind of dinner! Has anyone done this? We've been to FFC a few times before and have always had a good experience, though the last time we were there I didn't see too many things on the menu that really thrilled me. The sample menus for this dinner looked pretty amazing.

I'm also toying with the idea of doing the Wishes Dessert Party on our last night there. I've wanted to try this since they introduced it but haven't had the time. Any comments on this one? Is it worth the $$?

I may have to call for the ressies, though. I've been trying to book online and when I plug in the dates to see what's available I seem to get the "please wait while we complete your request" in an endless loop. :headache:
