For those of you staying at the Renaissance Airport:

I found a trip review from a woman who cruised in July and she mentioned she had stayed at the hotel and had received instructions on where to get the shuttle. I PM'd her and she was kind enough to send me:

1) instructions on where the shuttle is located for each terminal.

2) The shuttle to the port.

3) The shutttle to Las Ramblas (is free at certain times but there is a charge for certain times).

4) The email and name of the concierge (at least in July).

The info is primarily in PDF form. If any of you want any of this information you can PM me with your email, or wait for it, let me see if I can do this: Okay didn't work.

So anyway, you can email me and I can forward the email to you...

I love your Crush! nice job!

I was wondering what some of you are celebrating on the cruise... Birthdays? Anniversaries? Kids leaving home? :rotfl2:
Thanks :-) And I'm celebrating my first semester out of university.

This is really cute and different...great job :thumbsup2!
:-) Thanks, I had the idea, went to the fabric store... and handed it and a poorly drawn template of what I wanted to a bunch of 16 year olds who volunteer at my work... They are very handy with a glue gun.

Josh; Crush is cute!
I think so too! :-) I love his little googley eyes.

Josh - Crush is SO cute! I can;t wait to put your FE gift in it. :cool1:

As soon as I read that, my mind went immediately to....Claire; perhaps they are related.

Sadly I thought the same thing

We have our brunch ressie for that day/time, too! We'll meet you at the desserts table. :thumbsup2

One more item checked off the pre-cruise checklist. I just made a ressie at OKW for the Saturday night after the cruise. We're going to use one of our left-over admissions on our 4-day military tickets to do a park day, and we decided it would be easier (read: more fun) to stay on property than go back to my parents' house. We're staying at Casa de Madre y Padre pre-trip to save a little time and money, so I thought this would be a nice post-trip treat before we have to drive home (6+ hours, ugh) on Sunday.

Karen, so sorry for your loss

Josh, that is a very cute FE!

Noel, Congrats for your daughter

We are celebrating my DS 14th on the 12th sep (gibralta) I have booked an excursion in Maderia for just myself and him. He chose the canyoning excursion and liked the idea that it is age 14 and up! Good job im pretty adventurous!

I hate leaving the ship at the end too (who doesnt?) The banners saying see you real soon get me most. But like I always tell my kids " we cant come back until we have left"

Yes I think it is Sarah, she posted on facebook a few days ago that she is just returning to work from her maternity leave so hasn't been online much & will post the brunch list in a few days when she has a day off. :thumbsup2

After reading your post, I thought "Casa de Madre y Padre .. wow that's a long name for a hotel" Then I thought about the translation and bust out laughing :lmao: :lmao:

So what are you celebrating?

I'm celebrating by Birthday on 17th September - not going to tell which one but I'm thinking of doing a Benjamin Button from now on ;)

Looking forward to the cruise soo much now - My DD will be going back to school for 1 week before we leave so it's going to feel very odd . My mind is already getting in to "Winter mode" ,not that it's been much of a Summer over here, and seeing her off to school will reenforce that feeling.

Its going to make the holiday feel even better.

Next year she starts Secondary School and taking her out for a couple of weeks won't really be an option :-(

Been very busy with work lately but seeing all the final preparations being completed is exciting to see - mind you I will leave everything to the last as usual and ensue the annual panic :rotfl2:

Best wishes to you all from the Wet Wet Wet Emerald Isle ( I'm surprised it's still above water at this stage):wizard:

Can one of you guys who set up the group brunch tell me what email address you used for dcl events. My contact hasn't got back to me so I was going to try a different email address.

Thanks :flower3:

I like that thought, and will definitely keep that in mind when it comes time to bid farewell to our TA cruise family.

Our first cruise was 10 nights and we got on the ship as a couple, but left feeling a part of something larger than ourselves. We were so surprised to find ourselves leaving the ship with tears streaming down our faces, it was unlike any vacation we had ever experienced before, and we were hooked on cruising with Disney from that moment on. :wizard:

PALO BRUNCH GROUP 1

BinkyTell organized - we are the Sept 13 group

I know Curt and I are two of those :) and successfully snagged a nursery reservation (whew!)

Wow, you are so creative Josh :thumbsup2

Ditto! Love it Josh!

Yes, we married when we were 10 :rolleyes1

Congrats on 30 years!! :)

Yay for that!! :thumbsup2
I just booked our first WDW trip... for November to attend the Mickey's Christmas party. Booked at POP so we could afford it... but Sarah will not know until we arrive there (her first trip) and we are also giving a cousin and her twin girls buddy passes to fly down as well (their first trip as well... including first flights!). Gotta call back today to give the payment info, but we have decided to not even tell the girls they are seeing each other until we bump into them. I have not been to WDW in 21 years... so I am excited as well!

I never saw Benjamin Button, just know Curt came home from it in tears when he saw it on his afternoon off, so I figured it is one for me to avoid.
And yes... kiddos in secondary school... it can be hard. However, I always say if your school allows it and you have willing teachers (or tutors you work with), then DO IT. Technology these days helps make it happen without lugging textbooks around. All the years I taught, I would have students go home to various countries or go on vacations, and I made sure to work with them however I could. I always believed in putting life first, and helping families accomplish that.
