I am going to remind him that it is a federal offense to open mail not addressed to him. We'll see if that works. :)

Hi all,

Sorry to have been MIA for the past 2+ weeks. We went to Disney World the last week of July and then last week was spent on various construction/ preparation activities for my niece's wedding shower that was on Saturday....with the wedding being this Saturday.

The kids (DS, DNiece and DNephew) had a great time. I, unfortuantely, had a client that needed a large federal grant written at the last minute so I spent nearly the whole week in our room at OKW. To those I promised to send FairyGodmailer cards to...I got them all done and then lost them when I left my camera bag behind at Cape May. Don't ask me why, but I got my camera bag and camera bag back (thank goodness!)...but the money, my annual pass, and the post cards in my bag were just gone. Fortunately, it wasn't a ton of money and I was able to replace the annual pass with my ID, but the post cards....:confused3... Why anyone would take them is beyond me!

I have tons of pages to catch up on. I'm way back on page 106!

Karen

Lol. I try that when we have special packages arriving but the threat never gets taken seriously!!! :lmao:

Congrats to all who have their docs today. I'm getting the feeling that most people have them now- except us :confused3 :charac2: note the violin player lol

No, we haven't got ours yet and I don't think most folk will have them yet.

I'm hoping mine are there when I get hom in few hours :cool1:. Since my sister does not live with me and DH is not going, I will be the one to get them.:yay::yay: Sorry Chris. Hopefully Jeremy will wait until you get home.

LOL at the violin player...:) I'm sure you'll get yours soon.

Aww Marilyn hopefully you will have yours soon too.

Great news Karen, hope that cheered you up :)

I have to go out today - what's the betting they try to deliver while I'm out?

Last time FED EX delivered our gift cards to one of our neighbours by mistake. We didn't get them from the neighbours for ages. We never even knew they'd been delivered. No card etc.

Jealous again !!!

No FEDex visit here ... but then we do live in Wales !!

No Fedex here, but I heard in Tilburg(the Netherlands) they bring the papers today. So they deliver in the Netherlands.
Do they leave a note as they give it to your neighbours??Because I am not at home the next few days.
I hope they come soon.

Thanks Michelle:). I'm not too bothered, they will come sometime, and if they don't, they can put luggage tags on for us at the terminal. It is nice for new cruisers to get them though and add to their excitement so I wish DCL would send theirs out first!!

I wonder if they will be sending out another mailing with luggage tags for those without a room number as yet but who have their documents or if they will only find out at the terminal. Strange isn't it?

She is ok and enjoying it lots but she is always tired .... she works long hours and only has one day off a week. She hasn't been into the parks at all since we left .... on her day off she does laundry and food shopping. I don't think she expected such long hours but she is taking it her stride ... good thing she has been to WDW so many times before, so she isn't missing out. I think Bethan must work shorter hours or be more organised with her home life, as she seems to fit in a lot of socialising. She loves the job though. I think it may well put her off doing the year long programme.

Are you saying she works more than 40 hours a week?? I'm shocked she is expected to work without 2 days off, maybe she should talk with her manager. That makes me sad to think it may put her off the year long programme, I know several people who have done the internship and they loved it so much they went back for years afterwards to keep their CM status.

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao: You go for it Chris! If you need support, let me know and I'll write you a letter of reference acknowledging that what you are saying is true! lol :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Thought I'd post a couple things I'd wish I'd known before we cruised from Barcelona in June. ...Hope that info helps someone!

:grouphug:

That helps me.

...Well, it turns out he couldn't physically handle the job and was not delivering any of the "junk mail" , but instead he was keeping it in his garage or burying it in his yard. ...

But he was able to dig holes in the back yard?

...I have to admit......still don't know what spinning is! ...

Spinning is intense exercise biking. They use a more industrial strength bike for stability. The music is selected to build the intensity of the routine. They really work you in this class. At times, you increase the resistance on the wheel and stand up on the pedals, like you are going uphill on a bike. I would say the concept is to work you like you are riding in a bike race - think Tour d'France for an hour.

...The childcare issue can be a sore point - it's not something we want to keep having to deal with on holiday as it's such a pain in "regular life". ...

I hear you (and I don't have kids). It's easy to forget how you guys have to work around the hours you can get in the nursery. I think the kids' clubs for those out of diapers is more convenient for planning, as it's open most of the time and you can just drop them in without planning.

And sorry to send these PMs for everybody... I can't send private mensagens yet...

Just nice to hear you are still around (and not just on FB).

Got ours today, too! :cool1: Larry picks up our mail at the post office (p.o. box), so he saw the DCL envelope first. He came rushing into the house, ...

Isn't it nice that little things like that can still make him excited. How sad for those who get "too old" (at whatever age) to enjoy life.

My nieces get their own package when they sail with me since we have different home addresses. I've heard of some 4 year olds getting their own, even though they live at the same address as their parents.

Those of you who get your luggage tags in the mail and then your room number changes: DCL tells you to cross out the old number (or GTY) and write the correct number on the tag.

BRING A SHARPIE - one of my rules of travel, anyway.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Good luck with that, my DH uses that on me but it never works. ;)

It's very strange, I thought they would send the GTY's after they had assigned the room numbers. :confused3

I hope you get yours soon too. :)

I'm saddened by it too, I really hope it doesn't put her off doing the year long programme but I can see how it would. :guilty:

Thank you... we are booked up for the Tortola dive but we do have a few spaces left for the Shark dive at St Maarten's. if any one is interested please PM me....

Hi Jill,

I am getting so excited for this trip. Can you let me know if it has been decided if it will be one or two dives in Tortola? Also, would you recommend we bring our 3mils or would t-shirts and swimsuits be enough?

Hi Claire,

Tell your DH that he is not the only one with a purple toe. I dropped 9 pounds of lead on my right middle toe on Saturday before my dives. It is about this color::upsidedow but it does not hurt. :lmao:

Hope our docs are in the mail/FedEx today. That would make this Monday worth it.

Thanks,

No documents here .... I am tempted to get out my last years book just so I don't feel left out :sad2:

I have been chatting to her on Skype this evening .. she doesn't mind too much about the long hours as she loves working in DHS, she just misses not having a lot of time off to go and chill. A lot of the others are taking extra days off, because you can give your shifts away if you want, so long as you have someone who will take them for you. She is really enjoying the work and says the people she works with are so lovely. Tonight she is working 6:30pm until 2:30am.

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Now imagine the looks you would get with THAT!

Maybe those of us that have to bring our kids along can hang together and bring up the rear of the group?

(do you think it would be really tacky to make our 2 year old a "pub crawl" t shirt? :upsidedow )

Too bad this threat won't work. He'll just say, "since I paid for half of it, it's irrelevant that only your name is on the envelope."

Touche!

Karen, I'm really sorry to hear that someone went through your bar & stole things. You have to wonder what kind of people go to Disneyworld and steal from others. At least they didn't take your camera I guess.

Thanks Michelle:). I'm not too bothered, they will come sometime, and if they don't, they can put luggage tags on for us at the terminal. It is nice for new cruisers to get them though and add to their excitement so I wish DCL would send theirs out first!!

I would think that if cabins aren't assigned, they'll just send blank ones. But I guess we'll have to wait for the people w/o room #'s to let us know if they get docs this week or not.

I don't do spinning at home, but I like it on the shipt - it helps to burn off all of those Palo calories! Joe reminded me the other day that if I do some of the same things I did last time I'll be up at the gym at 8:45 spinning in a few weeks!
