The Monaco Grand Prix was exciting today, but I got fed up by the end. I can't believe that we are going to be there in 2 weeks :cool1:

From what I've read, the Monaco Grand Prix was definitely an eventful race! Unfortunately the TV channel that covers Formula 1 here is only available on cable or via satellite, and we parted ways with our cable provider a number of months ago after having been billed incorrectly yet again. We did manage to watch the opening race of the season as we were away that weekend and the cottage had satellite TV :)

Only 2 weeks now until the Montreal Grand Prix. :woohoo: Paul and I are heading there for the full 3 days - fingers crossed that the weather improves (we've had a lot of rain lately):wizard:

I know there is a prospect that I may get lynched here but ...

:dancer: :dancer: :dancer: party: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer:

I'm doing the single digit dance, 9 days to go, we will officially be on the Magic NEXT WEEK :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

I am soooo excited

Lucky you! Hope you all have a fantastic time! Looking forward to hearing all about it.

Just checked the DCL website.

For those of you wondering what excursions are full already, here's a list:-

All Serenity Bay Cabanas
At least half of the Family Beach Cabanas are gone
12 metre regatta in St Maarten
Seaworld Explorer - Coral Reef Exploration in St Maarten

Thanks for giving us this update, Mary.

The only DCL excursion we wanted to do was the 12 metre regatta in St.Maarten.:sad2: I do hope that some additional spots are released for our booking window on June 12 :wizard:

Of course, we all miss our chicks when they leave the nest and a few tears are in order!! However, with Skype, you can see her often and share with her the joys and sorrows of living away from home!

Your kids never seem to really appreciate home until they leave it for a time!!

We use Skype and Facetime (on our Apple devices) to keep in touch with our DD, who's away at university, and with our family in the UK. Much better than a phone call and as you can see each other, you feel that you've spent quality time together. :thumbsup2

John finished the pin card art so I thought I would share it with you guys. Pin will look just like our logo

Love the pin, Noel and John. Thanks so much for organizing this.:flower3:

I need some transfer help!

I need a way to get from the port to Orlando Airport the day we dock. I think our flight is about 1:30pm Any suggestions for a service that will not cost an arm and two legs, and will still get us there in a reasonable amount a time?

If we do car rental, is it far to the pick-up points?

2 adults, 2 children.

THANK YOU!

Disney does a transfer service to the airport, but as there are 4 of you, it would be the most expensive option.

We have used Happy Limo in the past for transfers. We found them to be reasonably priced, prompt and courteous, and the vehicles used have been comfortable and roomy enough for 4 of us (2 adults, 2 teens plus luggage). If you do a search on their name, the link to their Web site should come up.

There are 2 rental companies near to the port, Hertz and Thrifty. Both offer free shuttle service to their locations from the port; the bus stops are just after you exit the terminal. We've rented cars on occasions where we had a late flight (evening), so had time to kill. Both times, Thrifty was the cheapest of the 2. Last time though they didn't have the size car that we had booked (a practice that seems to be commonplace in the car rental industry and not just limited to Thrifty), so we had to try 2 of the cars that were available to see if we could get all of our luggage into the trunk. Luckily the 2nd one we tried was big enough. Drop of at the airport on both occasions was a breeze.

Hope this helps.

I am glad you parents are really looking forward to this cruise. My Dad would never talk about his experiences in WWII with his children. It was only after he passed away when we going through his papers that I found all his medals, letters from friends during the war years and all his souvenirs. I never knew he was in intelligence or that he had been awarded medals for courage and valor. My Dad was one who just did his job and never complained or bragged.

It has taken us a long time to get him to talk about experiences and normally he only talks about the happy times he had with his mates. It took my brother years of probing before we got to see the medals, Les had these mounted and they now have pride of place in Dad's study.

Great Artwork, John and Noel, appreciate all the hard work that went into making this happen.

Hi All

I know some of you like the Dooney and Bourke bags, so thought you might be interested in knowing that www.disneystore.com has some listed in the warehouse clearance section. The site also has an offer of an additional 25% off select clearance items that is valid until the end of day, May 30. You just need to apply the bonus code before you checkout.

Enjoy!

Hi all,

I'm so far behind on reading posts, that it will take me a long time to catch up....I'm back on page 92!

John and Noel, Andrew and I would like to purchase pins and donate to the lanyards, how do I do this and is it too late? I'm sorry, but things have just gotten by me with trying to catch up everything at work and home!

I'm happy to coordinate the stateroom tours. I know that Andrew and I are in an 11A, accessible and would be happy to show our cabin. I guess the "goal" is to get one of each type of cabin so any and all who are willing, please let me know. I'm thinking that perhaps the 2nd sea day after Maderia might be a good day, though I'm certainly open to suggestions as to which day to do the tour!

(Also to those who may be wondering, I requested the accessible cabin as I often have problems with balance issues left over from a brain injury and find it very hard to climb over a tub without falling. When my husband is traveling with us, it's no big deal....but on my own, I was afraid of falling in the bathroom. So, I asked for the accessible cabin but indicated that I would gladly give it up in the event someone in a wheelchair needed the cabin. I hope everyone understands as I've had some people comment in the past about how I'm not "disabled" but am in an accessible room or cabin or...have used some other accomodation from time to time. Unfortunately, since some disabilities are not as visible as others, I've taken "hits" from those who have judged me in the past and it's not fun.)

OK....now back to reading on page 92....maybe I'll get caught up sometime before we cruise ;)!

Thanks Lorraine...I would love to order one or two;) but we always get charged customs when the things are delivered:(
Will have to wait till we either get onboard or wait till we get to WDW.

Just looking on the website and OMG I could spend a small fortune on there. Why can't the UK Disney Store sell items like that!

 No need to explain Karen, we are all friends here & would not question why you need an accessible room. :flower3:

They have much nicer stuff on the US site, but the delivery charge they add on is ridiculously high, before you even add the customs fee. :sad2:

I know it won't help now with the discount code, but i've done this several times......I place an order about ten days or so before I fly out & get it delivered to my WDW resort. All you need to do is make sure the delivery address shows the name of the person who your resort reservation is made under and your arrival date, ie Claire Maguire, Arriving 9/24/11. If it arrives before you they will keep it & tell you that you have a parcel when you check in. :thumbsup2

Car rental is easy to do ... just take the free shuttle to the car rental depot, and you can pick up your car and drop it at the airport. I have looked at USRentacar and you can pick up a car for your needs for under £30 - 4 door economy car. It would cost you that for 1 person to take a DCL shuttle.

I have the same issue with the uk site. Yesterday I wanted to bye a Mickey shirt and a shorts set for my son. It would cost 13£ in delivery. That's just insane (I think the total cost of the clothes was 22£). So no Mickey clothing for my son:sad2:

If you want you can send it to my address in UK and I will mail it to you. Certainly won't cost £13. Let me know?

I used "Orlando carriers" last year to get up to Sanford last year and worked out well, they also do port transfers.

Hello everyone - we are still have not booked this cruise yet but did place 2 dummy cruises on the EBTA so I have it for this cruise if we get to go. I hope no one minds if I hang out at this point because I really think we will be coming.

We got home late saturday night from the EBTA and it was great once again. There were some changes from last years EBTA and I will be comparing my navigators to see.

One change I did not like is that the merchandise for the TA was crappy - the only things they had were T-shirt, magnet, postcard and pin. They also did away with the keepsake menu this year - we still had the transatlantic menu - just not dated and it was the same as last year just without the dates.

Ducky was on our cruise again, but will not be on the WBTA - so that makes me sad.

The gifts we got was a Ducky print and a travel valet.

Any other questions? (and I am not sure if anyone else on here was on the EBTA this year too, I have not gone back to read yet - so if i am repeating I am sorry)

Krisann
