Hello,
I am new here and my son and I are going on this cruise. How can I join this group?
Do I have to fill in the form on the 2011 WBTA website?
I can't pm you, because I have not enough posts.
Thanks,
Liesbeth Bakker (the Netherlands)
Hi Liesbeth

we are Mary and DH Stevie from Scotland. This will be our 9th
Disney Cruise. We did last year's WBTA and it was amazing. Looking forward to an ever better one this year with the lovely chatty bunch of people on here
I totally forgot to say good luck last night, my head was all over the place.
We've got a birds nest in our garden at the moment, although we can't see the babies we can certainly hear them....they are so loud!
It's ok hun, I know you were a wee bit distracted with everything going on at home.
At least we have High Tea organised, hopefully all the other ladies involved will get their reservations too
Wow, the trees in our garden aren't established enough, but I think from memory you had lots of old trees in your garden. That would be lovely having a nest in the garden. It would drive Tod crazy, he chases all the birds in our garden
Just booked our Palo ressies. I wasn't going to get up for 5am as I haven't been too well. In fact I had forgotten all about it until I saw Mary's post earlier. Anyway, plenty of reservations still available for everything, even High Tea. I think I only saw one full time. We aren't booking any excursions but i am sure they are all still available.
Glad my early morning antics gave you a wee reminder Marilyn. I'm hoping you're feeling better over the coming months and able to cruise with us all. My Aunt has been suffering badly from pancreatitis over the years, not very nice and I can sympathise a bit from when I had my gall bladder disease. Getting that removed changed my life, but the pancreas isn't quite so easily fixed unfortunately
Glad to hear that you got everything that you and Stevie wanted, Mary. Thanks for letting us know about the availability

.
No probs, I'll give you all an update before the 90 day window
The Monaco Grand Prix was exciting today, but I got fed up by the end. I can't believe that we are going to be there in 2 weeks
I have been a bit lazy this morning and have been checking out restaurant menus for our trip to WDW in July ... but the low fat options seem to be few and far between, particularly when you are dining with 2 chaps who love their burgers and ribs. Even most of the salads have cheese etc added ( though I suppose I could ask for no cheese ) I have never been to Florida on a diet before, so I expect it will be an experience. That said, I am following the 80 % rule ( 80% healthy ) as I will not be able to resist certain treats such as dole whip, cinnabon bun etc, and we allow myself one of each.
Anyone got any tips for healthy eating in WDW / Orlando
What resort are you staying at Sarah? Is it a DVC resort with a gym?
When I lost 5 stones a few years ago, I was just about 1/2 stone from my target weight when we went to WDW on holiday. I had been so focused losing all that weight I was heart broken thinking I was going to ruin it in 2 weeks and do some major damage.
I cut myself down to 2 main meals a day on holiday, but with some healthy snacks in my bag for between times. Stevie and Rachel just eat consantly when we are in WDW with donuts, funnel cake, carrot cake, pastries and the like and it kills me, as I just put on 2 lbs just looking at them.
My trick was booking ADRs for all you can eat buffets and I stacked my plate constantly with some nice lean meats, salads etc and tried to keep away from the carbs - potatoes, bread and chips.
For quick service I always love Cosmic Rays. I have the grilled chicken in a bun, give Stevie my chips and then fill a separate plate full of all the salad, mushrooms etc that they have in the salad bar.
We stayed at the Beach Club that year and I went down to the gym every day and did an hour on the exercise bike.
I didn't feel that I missed out. I even had some carrot cake or a funnel cake some days as a meal replacement.
I was so chuffed when I came home and stood on the scales and I was exactly the same, I had maintained. My Scottish Slimmers teacher was amazed. It must have been all the walking at WDW and the gym that helped.
I think we all underestimate how many miles we walk at WDW
