Hi Mandy

I did mention the pen & paper in jest, but have you tried to actually write a letter recently OMG I tried and found it looked like a 5 yr olds - we are getting far too Dependant on electronic wizardry :-) Where will it all end?????

Oh, we were always okay with the Disney tickets. I wasn't kidding when I said I'd go by myself! Once I make up my mind, that's it. ;) And I can use my ID to activate the tickets, so we didn't need him for that. I really only need him for the military rate on the cruise. Of course, I do kind of like him, so I'm glad he got the time off. :rotfl::rotfl:

:rotfl2: thank you,

LEAVE APPROVED!!!!

:woohoo::woohoo::yay::yay::dance3::yay::yay: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Finally. We've been waiting for over a week for Dennis' boss to approve his leave. Every time I said, "She's going to approve it, right?" he shrugged and said, "I hope so." Doesn't really inspire confidence. So I had to get brutal.

I showed Dennis the Mickey Mouse Club t-shirts on Zazzle.com last night, with his name on the back, and I said, "You only get this if you go on the cruise." Being an over-grown 5-year-old, he said, "But I want it!" Then I told him what it would cost for me to go by myself using the VTG rate (or whatever that's called), and pointed out how much we would be saving on dog boarding because he would be staying home to look after them. He looked absolutely shocked that I would go alone, but hey, this is my birthday present! Come hell or high water, I'm going!!

He emailed the boss and she came back with the approval.

I hate to have to get tough with him, but sometimes he just leaves me no choice. ;)

I just booked our airfare from Orlando - $534 each one-way on 1800flyeurope.com. :woohoo::woohoo:

Come on September!!! (But not too fast - still have to lose at least 20lbs.)

so excited for you his leave was approved. My DH is trying to tell me he does not know if can go, the office might collapse if he is not there. If it's me and my sister, that would be OK too. Of course I want him to come, bought all the t-shirts, pins, lanyards, most importantly airfare: already. Fingers crossed, he actually askes his boss if he can have off. I think he would approve it if he would just ask. MEN. :sad2::sad2:

I think Dennis' boss thinks the place will fall apart without him! That's why I waited til I got the official word before booking the airfare, as it's all non-refundable.

Speaking of airfare, our seats were automatically assigned when I booked through 1800flyeurope. I decided I wanted to change them so I went online to the American Airlines website. No problem changing the Orlando to NYC flight, but there was no "button" available to change the NYC to Barca leg, maybe because it's Iberia (operated by AA). Well, I called AA and was told it would cost me $25 each to change the seats!  Uh, no thanks.

So, not to be defeated that easily, I called Iberia. Got the seats I wanted, no charge. :thumbsup2

The moral of the story: Don't take their first answer if you don't like it and there are other avenues to explore. That $50 will be put to better use buying FABs, thank you very much! :drinking1

It's gotta be pink:)

I would love some info if you don't mind passing it on Claire that would be great.

I'll PM you when I hear back, I only emailed this morning so it may be a few days. :thumbsup2

Well done on getting the seats changed. :goodvibes It always makes me annoyed how they try to rip you off with things like that, it's not as though you are cancelling or causing any extra work for them.....of course i'm sure they wouldn't charge you an ammendment fee if you wanted to upgrade.

Oh and I  how you call them FAB's, I may have to pinch that from you. ;)

I don't have anything. Stevie has a laptop and Rachel has a desktop. I use my iphone most of the time, but if I want to multi-answer posts, the iphone won't let you do that function.

I have to keep asking the 2 of them for a shot of their computer and it drives me crazy. I thought an ipad would be a good option for being so portable and reading ibooks on the WBTA :cool1:

I think you should get one, especially as you don't have anything for yourself, it would also benefit everyone else as you wouldn't keep pinching theirs :thumbsup2

We have an Acer Netbook which is slim, light and does the trick - after that it's pen and paper - anybody remember those LOL?

I think pen and paper will one day be obsolete .. kids won't know what to do with them. Writing will become a thing of the past !

I am trying not to stress about it too, but Stevie keeps investigating it and watching it on the news. We fly out on 7th June :mad:

If the worst comes to the worst, we will check with BA to move our Aberdeen to London leg and fly from North England, and if all else fails, we will drive to London :sad2:

Everything will be fine Sarah, if we say it enough times

Tony is a Sky News addict and does exactly the same thing .. shouts from the other room to tell me what is going on and I shout back "I don't want to know !!"

successful shopping trip, beths boarding dress..wish they had one in my size:rotfl2:

Wonderful news at last Pat ...... and officially welcome aboard Dennis :thumbsup2 That will be a weight off your mind!
I am with you on the 20 lbs ... I started back on WeightWatchers yesterday and I could eat cardboard. Still it will be worth it if I drop a dress size and can fit in last years cruise dresses !!

Pinch away! I stole it from the PassPorters, anyway.

I also use RABs, for "refreshing adult beverages" of the non-frozen variety. :drinking1

Thanks, I'm pleased that he's coming along. Although... the whole stateroom to myself... hmm... :rotfl:

I've been trying to eat right, but haven't been as vigilant as I should be. I also haven't been working out like I need to. With temps in the 90's and my job at the Commissary, I keep hoping that shlepping those groceries out to the cars will count as exercise and burn some calories!! :rotfl: Heaven knows it would make up for some of the lousy tips we get! :sad2:

I love that too ... although I can't help but think of this as a FAB

I would so much prefer to think of this:

Oooooh, that looks yummy, too! What is it?

I'll take both, thank you!

Oh wait, supposed to be trying to lose weight.

Speaking of shopping .... the other day I was in the Disney Store and I bought this which was on sale for £6

and then just had to buy this beach towel:

and this bag to put them in

DSCF3220.jpg

I then realised I won't actually need the beach towel as DCL provide them and it would be unecessary baggage weight :rolleyes1:rolleyes1

They did have quite a good sale on T-shirts going on ..kids for £4 something and adults for £6 something.

apparently those FABS only contain 90 calories .. interesting ;)

I'm sure the other type contain a few more than that :rolleyes1:rolleyes1

well you can have the 90 calories one now and when the time comes to have the other one it wont matter because we will be on holiday and nothing we eat or drink contains fat or calories lol,

Oooh I might have to get some of them then.

I am sure they have hundred's but when on holiday everything is calorie free so it doesn't matter anyway. ;)

Fab shopping btw - I would say something about how lovely it would be to be laying on top of Captain Jack but this is a family board so I won't. ;) :lmao:

We posted the same thing at the same time, it must be true then! :dance3:

OOOOO, that t-shirt is sooooo cute. I wonder if they have them at my Disney Store. I have to check on my home tonight. I would not bring it on the cruise Sarah.
