Hello all

I'm super lucky to live so close to London, so when I woke up today I decided to go up and join in the wedding day festivities.

Left home at 8.30 and managed to get a spot on the The Mall, which is the main road leading to Buckingham Palace. Saw Charles, Camilla, The Queen and Kate whizz by on their way to the Abby,

And later was really lucky to get a spot close to the palace and I could see William and Kates kisses.

I feel so lucky to have been able to go and enjoy the day and wonderful atmosphere.

Now I'm sat at home watching the highlights on the BBC to see all the bits I missed

SW

That's Amazing! Now We really KNOW someone who attended the royal wedding!

Hi

Just wondered if there were any runners in the group?

I run mainly for fitness and weight management, (not fast!)

Ran on the running deck a couple of times but the ship was in port so I will make a point of running on some of the sea days this time, used the treadmills in the fitness centre a couple of times also and tried a spin class as well.

Col

Running to the buffet maybe.....:lmao:

Seriously, I'm really trying to get motivated to exercise, but with little success :confused3. Just can't seem to get started :sad2:.

I hope there aren't any Dissers out there who suffered loss from the tornadoes. So incredibly sad how so many are homeless now, not to mention the loss of life.

But on a lighter note, the wedding was beautiful :lovestruc and Kate's dress was the perfect choice. She was simply stunning. No doubt they're unspeakably happy :cloud9: this evening. And kudos to William for driving his bride in his father's car! Nice that they're so contemporary and down-to-earth. But, I must say, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie were quite stunning in another way...they're being called the "worst dressed" on the American entertainment shows tonight. I enjoy seeing the British ladies in their hats (no one wears them here anymore), but their choices were.....well.....! Oh my!

Very awesome! :thumbsup2 Some friends live over there and it was fun chatting via Facebook while watching it live on tv. :)

We loved watching it all - and seeing the diversity in styles! Loved Kate's dress as well. :)

That is soooo coooool! :cool1: I totally would have gone if I lived anywhere near London!

Or the bar!! :drinking1

Eugenie's dress was bad on so many levels. Beatrice's might have been better in a different color. I thought the hats were pretty cool, though. Some of the Philip Traecy designs were like modern art. But I love wearing hats - I'd love to have a Philip Traecy hat. Camilla looked frumpy, the Queen looked great in yellow but the hat looked like she wore the box instead, Anne was just scary, and Kate's mom... looked fabulous in that outfit! Maybe Kate will be able to help the royal women with their fashion choices!

I missed the part where they drove away together. I saw it when I got home from work. That was so cute! They really look so sweet together!

Yep, even Pippa looked fabulous...incredibly tiny figure. But those hats...maybe for an art museum......!:scared1::scared1::scared1::confused3 I missed most of the festivities and just caught up after work, but I did see them leaving the church and riding away in the horse-drawn carriage, then the first kiss on the balcony (left for work just before the second). DH played commentator as I was getting ready this morning. As I'm putting on make-up in the br, he's yelling out things like "It's an Alexandra McQueen dress". What a guy!:lovestruc

As for Bea's hat, I just kept thinking it looked like a white chocolate sculpture you'd place on top of a cake . My mind works in mysterious ways sometimes, I suppose!

I thought Camilla looked fantastic, I really did. She is the same age as me and it is sooooooo difficult to know how to dress. I loved her outfit.

The Queen was the Queen and doesn't alter her styles much. She knows what suits her etc. She looked really nice.

Anne doesn't care what people think of her, but should have done better.

Kate's mum looked fabulous and got it just right. It must have been so hard for her to choose.

Beatrice and Eugenie. :scared1::scared1::scared1: Enough said!!!

DH does a bit of running ... he runs to lose weight before cruises mainly and to minimise the gain while on the cruise. he will definitely be using those treadmills. Myself ... I do a bit of fast walking which emphasis on the "bit"

WOW Warren I really wish we had made the effort now .... as the atmosphere looked amazing. We kept looking out for you in the crowd :rotfl2:

Yeah it really was lovely, and I got lucky to be able to see the couple, and be part of the day.

I almost didn't go as I wasn't sure i'd get to see anything, but I just got lucky, and kept thinking of all my friends around the world who'd would love the chance to spend the day in London.

The crowds at times were insane, they made even a bad day at EPCOT seem deserted.

SW

It was the potential crowds that put me off .... I really don't like being in the middle of a big throng of people. And imagine trying to find a loo !!

Those hats were a bit dodgy to say the least .... the blue outfit looked like something from Primark and the one in the peach colour ( I never know which one is which ) had way too much eye make-up on .. she looked dreadful. Kate and her sister looked stunning and so classy and elegant.

I thought Camilla looked fantastic, I really did. She is the same age as me and it is sooooooo difficult to know how to dress. I loved her outfit.

The Queen was the Queen and doesn't alter her styles much. She knows what suits her etc. She looked really nice.

I thought Camilla and the Queen looked very nice .... just how you would expect really. Carol looked just perfect for mother of the bride.

Goodmorning everyone, I hope you are all well?

Hope all of you are enjoying another long weekend :woohoo:.

Has anybody (UK cruisers) received any Mickey mail yet? (final payment reminder) We had problems last year with the TA who we booked our Med cruise with, we got our tickets & cruise confirmation the day before we was due to fly to Barcelona :scared1:(after being on the phone every day for 4 weeks leading up to the departure) as you can imagine I was going through all the emotions you can think of. This year we booked direct with DCL & cut out the middle man. What has been your experiance with booking direct with DCL?

Thanks

Good Morning, Happy Cruisers!

I book direct with Disney, but then always transfer it to my TA. Let her worry about keeping it straight! In 2008, we left on an extended road trip about 3 weeks before the cruise - she was able to send my documents direct to our pre-cruise hotel. Had it been left direct with Disney, the docs would have been left lying on my doorstep.

Happy Day, all.

I have never booked direct with DCL but have always had excellent service from my TA. We received our Mickey Mail a few weeks ago now ... only a couple for weeks to go until final payment time :woohoo::woohoo:

Hi Emma, I'm in Canada, not the UK, but we haven't received anything yet from Disney re: final payment either and we booked direct with DCL too.

My neighborhood and city received mainly straight-line wind damage to trees in Wednesday's storms. However, this is one of the deadliest days of tornadoes in Alabama history. I think the death toll is pushing 200, despite a very good warning system. No one is quite sure why so many weren't able (or willing) to get to safety. It is a possibility that the storms were of a magnitude that underground bunkers would have been needed for survival.

We are just inconvenienced, no damage or injuries. Our power grid is off-line due to their shutting down the country's 2nd largest nuclear plant to prevent incident- and major power lines feeding from that plant having been knocked down.

They told us to prepare for 4-5 days (or longer) before power is restored to 1 million residents of North Alabama.

Lynne, so glad to hear you are okay. That storm was absolutely devastating! :sad1: I spoke with 4 different students at U of Alabama (all friends of my daughter) and luckily, they are all okay. Classes there were canceled for Thursday - but now it sounds like the semester is over, no finals, and commencement has been rescheduled to August! It's all just terrible!

Here in Georgia there are also several communities that were devastated from tornadoes. So many people died - it's so sad. Wednesday night was an incredibly scary night!

Diana would have been so proud today.

I agree, I think Diana would have been so very proud of both of her boys. :)

Princess Beatrice is 5th in line to the throne. If she did happen to make it, she would be...

Queen Bea. :rotfl2:

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

That's Amazing! Now We really KNOW someone who attended the royal wedding!

I'm fortunate enough to be able to say that Kate is considered pretty much a 'local girl' Where I live, as her family home is about 15 minutes away from my home.

Kate used to shop in the store where I work, but always seemed to hear that she'd been in "just 5 minutes ago" or " oh you just missed her" LOL. Then shortly before they announced their engagement I finally saw her! She really is stunningly beautiful.

I SO wish I could have come up with a excuse to go and talk to her

I was totally star struck!
