They are not protesting about the wedding Pat, it's about middle eastern religious causes and they are just holding their protest tomorrow to be difficult

That happens here, too. An anti-gay church protests at military funerals - because they know the press will be there, whether the deceased was gay or not.

Hopefully they will all stay away!!! I think we have seen more than enough violent protests in London over the past few months....it seems to be any excuse for thugs to turn up and cause trouble.

What is wrong with some people! :sad2:

I hope that I can watch the wedding tomorrow but my son turned 5 today:cool1: and tomorrow the boys from his Kindergarten will be here to celebrate (Today we went to Legoland with some of our family) and I'm not sure that 10 boys age 3-6 will be in wedding mode :lmao:

Luckily we got some Mickey shaped pasta for the party tomorrow and I'm going to make a Mickey Mouse head cake and Mickey shaped bread for him. He is very much in love with Mickey and insist on wearing a Mickey t-shirt every day. Even his glasses is with Mickey:rolleyes:

At Disneyland Paris after Mickey hugged him he said "Mom I think that Mickey loves me":lovestruc How can you not love that comment?

Aaaw, so cute! I hope you have a lovely day with the boys tomorrow.

They've cancelled the protest tomorrow as they've realised they might be in a dangerous situation with thousands of royalists giving them what for :scared1: :thumbsup2 Good job too :rotfl:

A random planning questions ... what do you think about Passporters? I've been thinking about picking up the 2010 Cruise one (since there's no real eta on the 2011 edition). Since this is my very first Disney cruise :cool1: I thought it might come in handy.

Hope all of our cruisers in the USA are managing to stay safe in the face of those terrible storms and tornados .... it really looks unimaginable. Take care and stay safe :hug::hug:

We bought the 2010 Passporter. It's a TON of information!

Ohhhh, okay. I thought maybe the anti-royalists were going to protest how much it cost, how useless the royals are, blah, blah, blah.

That happens here, too. An anti-gay church protests at military funerals - because they know the press will be there, whether the deceased was gay or not.

Yep. Sick and wrong.

Dennis volunteers for the Honor Guard on the base here, for military funerals. They fold the flag and present it to the next of kin. He gets to make the little thank-you speech. I'm really proud of him for doing that.

One time I went with him to a funeral of a Tuskeegee Airman (Google that sometime - really interesting group, those guys), and there were a bunch of Viet Nam vet bikers (motorcyclists, for you Brits ;) ) who came and formed a huge circle around the casket and mourners, and held big American flags. I asked them about those "protesters" and they told me the "protesters" tend to not show up when the bikers are there. Then they asked me if I wanted to hold a flag with them. It was really cool, and I was honored that they asked me.

They've cancelled the protest tomorrow as they've realised they might be in a dangerous situation with thousands of royalists giving them what for :scared1: :thumbsup2 Good job too :rotfl:

Good! I'm all for religious freedom and freedom of expression, but there's a time and a place for it. This isn't it.

I've used PassPorters for years for both WDW and DCL. They do include a lot of info - I love them! The DCL one doesn't have much on the TA cruises, specifically, but it does tell you a lot about the ships and Disney cruises in general. Of course, you can get all that here and on the PassPorter boards, but I like having it all collected in one place, where I can refer to it anytime without searching through a bunch of threads online. Plus, the people who wrote them are very nice and regularly answer questions on the PassPorter boards. I'm hoping the 2011 edition will be out soon.

Home from a great trip to the Windy City! It was also the Rainy city this week (Chicago). The girls and I traveled by ourselves Sunday morning, and then Curt joined us Sunday evening. Fortunately they both traveled well, and we relied on public transit the entire trip. :thumbsup2

I don't know if I will get up for the wedding, but I am looking forward to it! I still remember the tragic day of Princess Diana and being glued to the television. :sad1:

We saw Facebook updates from our cousins in northern Alabama. No electricity, but their house is fine. The neighborhood a half-mile east of them was completely flattened. They drove through it this morning and families were outside standing on top of used to be their homes. She said it is so sad. While we were in Chicago, our area got hit again, but only tornado watches and a warning. My neighbor is a police officer and texted everyone on our street when a funnel was spotted, so that is how we learned we were even having weather issues again back home.

On a positive note, we received our check from insurance for our hail damage from almost three weeks ago --- about $11,000 worth of damage that insurance is paying for - just to our home. Thankfully our cars were in the garage and not outside. Now we can proceed with getting the damages replaced (new roof, gutters, etc). We have heard of some people in the next development up the hill (about a half mile as the crow flies) who had $70,000+ worth of damage. Just not a good "April Showers bring May Flowers" kind of season this year. Maybe they will all be done in early 2011 and we will have no hurricane worries for the Caribbean in September since that is still hurricane season. :thumbsup2

Lorraine, you are soooo lucky, I would love to see a race. I hope you have an amazing time. I'll be thinking of you when I'm watching it :lmao: Who will you be supporting? :woohoo:

As there are no Canadian drivers, I'll be true to my British roots and will be supporting Lewis Hamilton and Jensen Button :banana::banana:

We'll have to try and remember to have the photos of the event on our iPad to show you on the cruise ;)

I've got a 2007 copy of the Passporter's Field Giude to DCL and its ports of call that I bought before our first cruise. It's very informative for life aboard the Disney Wonder and Magic. Although it doesn't cover all of the ports of call for the WBTA, it does provide some information on Barcelona, Gibraltar and St. Martin, albeit that the prices quoted are no longer valid with the book being 4 years old. I still find myself picking the book up to read although I must know the contents by heart by now :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Glad to hear that your insurance company paid out so promptly so that you can get the repairs done :thumbsup2

My neighborhood and city received mainly straight-line wind damage to trees in Wednesday's storms. However, this is one of the deadliest days of tornadoes in Alabama history. I think the death toll is pushing 200, despite a very good warning system. No one is quite sure why so many weren't able (or willing) to get to safety. It is a possibility that the storms were of a magnitude that underground bunkers would have been needed for survival.

We are just inconvenienced, no damage or injuries. Our power grid is off-line due to their shutting down the country's 2nd largest nuclear plant to prevent incident- and major power lines feeding from that plant having been knocked down.

They told us to prepare for 4-5 days (or longer) before power is restored to 1 million residents of North Alabama.

Mandy - glad to hear your cousin is okay; wondered if she had been in the path.

There was some anti-royalist groups saying they were going to protest too but with the amount of police and people that have been lining the streets all week I doubt they will get anywhere near....fingers crossed! :wizard:

I hope you had a nice time in Chicago.

Good to hear your insurance company paid out so quickly. :thumbsup2

I hope your cousins remain safe, my thoughts are with everyone being hit by these storms it must be so scary.

Oh dear, I didn't realise that many people had died. :guilty: Unfortunately all we have on our news atm is the wedding....

Stay safe Lynne.

I hadn't heard that but it is very sensible of them. I know i would have been giving them what for if they had been near me!!!:rotfl2:
