Great pictures Dawn! What little cuties you have!!

3Canadianslovedisney - where near Calgary? My Dad grew up in Canmore, and we used to be related to half of Banff :flower3:

My parents joined us for a cruise last time round and they loved it! I wish I could talk them into joining us on this one, but it's too far a flight for them.

We lived in a little town named Brooks. Ever heard of it? Canmore is such a beautiful place, with the Rockies so close. Wow does that ever make me homesick!:sad1:

We are quite thrilled about DM and DF joining us. It will be 2 years since we've seen them, so it should be a great reunion.:cool1:

How lovely the children look:lovestruc

I have shown Sarah your pics, and told her our neighbor nextdoor is one of the guys in the picture. She still gets the confused look, but I think it is soooo neat when children get exposed to all the uniqueness the world has to offer! :thumbsup2

Mandy, that is so sweet you showing Sarah the picture of Stevie. She won't look so strangely at him now when she bumps into him in the corridor :) Definitely though, it's great for them to see all the diverse things, dress from different countries etc. Last year on the WBTA, there was an Asian couple, I think from China (any of last year's cruisers may remember) and they had their national formal dress on too, the lady looked like she belonged in Mulan, she was gorgeous. I didn't see them wearing it on formal night, but I saw them on the way to Palo Brunch :)

Q: What do Scotsmen wear under their kilts?

A: SHOES!!!!!!!

Here are my 3:

Dawn what a gorgeous family, the children are so cute :) Your DH looks handsome in his kilt, what tartan is it he wears?

Claire, sending you and Lee big hugs :grouphug::grouphug: and hope you manage to get some sleep tonight. Thinking of you hun

The children are absolutely gorgeous in their "dress-up" clothes.

I love the diversity on these boards!

Steve wears Hunting Robertson. It's funny - as soon as he finally bought one, we ran out of weddings to go to... (he used to have to rent one 3 or 4 times a year) but he still gets to wear it on holiday. It's heavy, but we spread the weight around the luggage and it's not too bad. He also brings a Ghillie shirt with him.

When Calum stops growing 3 inches at a time, he can get a family kilt, but for now I just get him whatever fits. In the pictures, his is a little long, but it should fit by September. This was his first kilt, though... it was pretty tiny :lovestruc

Hi All! I haven't booked just yet, but any day now...
I'm very excited to see that everyone seems so nice, as this will be my first Disney cruise and my first transatlantic, and I'll be sailing solo.
Thanks all for the tons of information--I've learned lots just by lurking!

Seraphine, that baby picture is adorable! I have never considered little ones wearing kilts, it is so cute! Hi! We are Matt and Mindi and we will also have our three kids with us, 9, 7, and 4 on the cruise. Thanks for sharing the wonderful pictures! :)

We look forward to meeting you on the cruise! My DH and I did the EBTA last year and met some great friends so we are really looking forward to this one. Hopefully, we'll get to meet you on board!

Dawn, your family just lovely! Thanks for sharing the photos!

Does anyone know why my multi quote replies look a bit mixed up with the quotes... mind you I should be amazed I've managed to turn on the computer!!
margaret

Margaret, for every quote that you quote in your message, there must be an open quote, like {QUOTE=dfladfjaoij} and an end quote like {/QUOTE} For your multi quotes, you're somehow deleting the end quote portion. Leave that in and you'll get it!

Thank you all for your messages.

I've just had the Police call with an update that he has been interviewed and said that he was homeless and looking for somewhere to sleep, his solicitor has told him not to say anything else.....well they know he is lying as his fingerprints match another burglary, so he is well and truely screwed. They said he would have had accomplices nearby, so he was definately hiding waiting for us to go to bed. I don't think i'll ever sleep again.

It is going to court so we now have to sit and wait....she also told me to congratulate Lee as he has a nice big shiner on his eye.

Goodness, what a mess. Its a wonder that he was going to try to rob your home w/o being armed. I am so sorry that you have to go through this.

The whole thing gives me the willies.....especially since my husband goes out of town this weekend - a story like this makes me a bit paranoid. But my dog is quite the protector so at least there's that.

:dance3: Great news....I think our date is 12th June, leave some Palo bookings for me. ;)

Me too!!

Sarah---hope you feel better soon.:grouphug:

I've been sorting a heaping pile of papers from the sale of my mom and dad's house and misc. stacks that seem to grow out of nowhere. I did put on Tangled DVD so I could sing while I work. Just  that movie. Saw it twice on the PC cruise in 3D. Next up, Beauty and the Beast.........we're replacing our old VHS copies with Blue Rays.....:cool1:

Sunny day here in California; had some rain yesterday but it wasn't much.

Back to work..........:laundy: too.

I love Tangled too - they did such a wonderful job with the story don't you think? I made my husband go with me twice to see it in the theater and am secretly hoping that we'll see it a third time on the big screen on the Magic.

Welcome Julia! You are going to love cruising on Disney. The disgroup plans lots of activities (kind of like an extended family really) so actually you won't be sailing solo at all! :upsidedow

It's a FANTASTIC rollcall thread!! :)

Ditto!!! :thumbsup2

Tortola Excursion Update!!

I emailed Tortola Charters our updated count and that we have a waiting list... and this is their reply:

Hi Mandy,

Thanks for all of the help - we will have an additional boat doing the
trip - but right now I'm not sure which one and it's capacity - soon as I
know something firm I'll let you know -

Bill

So I will keep you guys posted as well. I know the boat we have for just DIS members is a "charter" that they are doing for a slight discount (see front page of this thread). Will keep everyone posted, and I'll keep the standby list going as well on the front page.

...I think i'm going to do the Big Bus Tour in London, the Red route. Does anyone have any experience with them? I've read that their guides are more entertaining than the Original Tour. I should also have time for lunch, anyone have any suggestions? My first time to London (or Europe for that matter)....

If you just want a sandwich, soup or salad, try any of the Pret a Manger or Eat shops or pick up something at Marks & Spencer Simply Food.

If it gets to be afternoon, try tea, perhaps at the Savoy (just reopened in October after extensive renovation). I found out that my DB/SIL and I have the same tradition of eating at Fortnum & Mason in the Fountain for a Welsh Rarebit. If you are heading to the National Gallery on Trafalgar Square, they have a cafe. So many choices, depends on what you are in the mood for. ??

Hi Lynne, How wonderful that we'll meet again on this cruise! Yes my husband loves Disney, but he's not so much in love w/ the community as I am...its just not his thing - I'm the resident social butterfly of the house:butterfly

Your trip to California sounds wonderful! Do you feel like you're in Soarin? lol.
Catalina is so pretty, I am jealous. How is the weather there this time of year?

My first trip to CA was just last year (on a cruise of course!) and I loved it. I wouldn't mind doing one of the DCL pacific coastal itineraries!...

Beautiful weather, started off cold-to-chilly and is now perfect, especially nice at the Getty Museum on a hill overlooking the city - a gentle breeze, plenty of sunshine (and smog, of course - I'll just overlook that).

Yesterday it was Santa Barbara - I'd like to go back and just spend some time being there, not necessarily doing anything - I really enjoyed the architecture. Solvang, a Danish town, is cheesy, but amusing to see. Glad I took the time for a brief visit.

I haven't gotten the Weekly Recap done, as this week my sister and I flew out to California to visit my niece.

WHOOPS! I cut off the poster for this:
OMG hope you are not worried about that..... sounds like you are having an action packed time...... it's so nice to catch up with family, sometimes I feel life marches on at such a pace that the basic and most important things can get left behind:thumbsup2

Anyway, I'm not worried about that - it is so easy for me to do the recap when I am at home on my MAC, I just copy and paste on a "sticky note" on the screen as I read the thread. Very little work involved. But the iPad doesn't give me the same ease, so I'm taking 2 weeks off.

Glad you enjoyed the Getty as we have enjoyed it many times. Love Santa Barbara as well as youngest sister attended University there. Our favorite place to stay was the Biltmore. Our favorite place to eat there is the Palace Grill for soft shell crabs.

WHat lovely photos Dawn, your little ones are so cute. :goodvibes

Thanks for thinking of us Mary, I had a few glasses of wine before bed & I think that helped. I managed a few hours, we also set our house alarm so I felt safer knowing that would go off.

Feel free to jump in & join the fun on here.

TBH we don't know that he wasn't armed. He had wedged himself into a small gap and couldn't really move much when we found him so with Lee pinning him down he didn't have a chance to get anything that he may have had.

What a gorgeous photo :goodvibes

Welcome to our cruise thread .. hope you can make it official soon :thumbsup2 We are Sarah and Tony from Wales and it is our 2nd WBTA .. we loved it so much last year we had to do it all again :thumbsup2

Stevie wears the Hunting Davidson. We used to hire a kilt for him and for formal occasions and cruising he used to wear his RAF mess dress uniform. We bought him a tux last summer, but I decided to treat him to the full kilt outfit for last year's WBTA. When DD is cruising with us, they share the weight, but he's not get any of my weight allowance for this year's WBTA :lmao: it's every man for himself :rotfl2:

OMG Calum looks adoreable :lovestruc Can't wait to see him wearing it in September, will need to get a photo of them all together. Check out his little Nessie :lmao: loving it

That's good that you have an alarm already, I wondered whether you would get one fitted now. Glad you got a few hours in :)
