The only problem with the Med cruises is that they are so flipping port intensive.

I know .. we would have to take another vacation to recover!!

:lmao: Plus lots of money for excursions!!!

I have been looking at other cruise lines for TA cruises next year. Wow, there are some amazing itineraries. Plus, some of them have 7 sea days in a row!!!:yay:

Friends of ours are going to New York on the Queen Mary 2, now that would be a lovely cruise. Be even better to go one way on one ship and back on another .. completely negate the need for flights!!

I also fancy this one ... but it is on the Silhouette and is a bit more expensive at £1080 pp.

Fri May 18 Venice, Italy
Sat May 19 Ravenna, Italy
Sun May 20 Split, Croatia
Mon May 21 At Sea
Tue May 22 Valletta, Malta
Wed May 23 Catania, Sicily, Italy
Thu May 24 Naples / Capri (Sorrento), Italy
Fri May 25 Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy
Sat May 26 At Sea
Sun May 27 Kotor, Montenegro
Mon May 28 Dubrovnik, Croatia
Tue May 29 Venice, Italy
Wed May 30 Venice, Italy

An overnight in Venice at the end - and some different ports - this looks nice.

I did book Hawaii this morning; will be doing both Alaska and Hawaii within a year (plus a few other cruises :goodvibes).

My recap was a little short this week, as we must have all been outside in the pretty weather, shopping on eBay or dreaming of fattening foods. :)

I sure like the way you cruise! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 I would be interested in hearing about your Hawaiian cruise when you go on it!:banana:

We have thought about doing that, particularly on the QM2 for coming home. Less jetlag when you arrive and a great way to travel.

Congrats on booking your cruise Lynne .... now you have another one to add to your countdown list you lucky thing :cloud9::cloud9::cloud9:

Wow that one sounds amazing :cool1:

We are doing Siciliy, Malta, Naples and Rome this June, but this is going into Catania, rather than Palermo, so there is a whole other half to the Island we can explore. Naples, Rome - I will never tire of those :lovestruc

Split, Venice and Dubrovnik..... :thumbsup2 will have to discuss with DH !!

£1080 isn't so bad when you don't have US flight costs to pay.

Does Celebrity Silhouette have a good reputation?

;);) Yes that is appealing we are traveling back to the UK this time on the QM2, and there’s only one downside ( besides the weather at end of October ) and that’s the 23 hour days !!!!! shame an hour less enjoyment…… but an hour more fun on the magic :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Have just been playing catch up with post’s, but now feel hungry with all those delicious food pics !!! but am having trouble thinking about dresses in the same sentence.:scared1:

:)We are so glad we are doing the WBTA this year, in the back of my mind I have been dreaming about doing the same next year……:sad2: but alas it’s not to be.
DH has just booked dinner at the signature restaurant on the carnival dream ( the cruise after the Magic) which seemed very easy, with a return email confirmation.:confused: Must admit I’m getting a little concerned that we won’t get a reservation at Palo for our anniversary, because it’s our first cruise we may not get into Palo’s because we have to wait to book……. Is this likely?

Last year there was no problem at all getting a Palo reservation. There were dinner reservations available online all the time. If your anniversary is a sea day though you might have a bit of a problem getting it specifically as the sea days book first. However, even then you could book what you can and then try to change it to when you want. I don't think you will have a problem.

I don't think it's actually launched until July 2011 :thumbsup2

I think you definitely will get reservations at Palo ... some people were getting 2 dinners on the last WBTA. We only managed to book brunch once on board but there was lots of availability. Do not worry

Friends of ours cruised the QE2 last year and said the only fault with Cunard was - it didn't have Disney service!

A couple can often get in on the day they prefer if they wait list, too. Just talk to the Host in advance, or go to the booking table when you board, if you get shut out on line.

I may have mentioned this already but we are doing a 12 night Med cruise out of Venice the end of April. It goes to Croacia (?), Turkey and Greece with a night over in Venice on Holland America. We also did a 5 night Easter cruise on the QM2 out of New York. What a beautiful ship. I would love to Hawaii next year, but I think my DH is DCL'd out.

I got my dress from Ebay yesterday and it fits perfect. I am very excited. I don't dress up often. More of a jeans and t-shirt, make that Mickey Mouse t-shirt kind of girl. ha ha.

Sounds like a great cruise Sue. Really pleased your dress fits too, you are having better luck than I am ..... or maybe you just accept what size you really are :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: I just won another one .... getting a bit addictive now and I still need formal and semi formal.

I would like to loose 20 pounds, but until I get in the head to actually do it, I am just accepting the size I am. For the $20.00 I won the dress for, if I only wear it 2 -3 times that is OK.

We are very excited about this cruise, it is both of my in-laws 75th Bithdays and my DH's whole family is going. They are a lot of fun to travel with.

ALOHA. Booked next years cruise. Can you tell we love long cruises:cool1:

See ya aboard Lynne. Mission accomplished!!:scared1::scared1:

Now to address the weight......Jenny Craig time

Hi everyone!

Well, DH is having spine surgery on Thursday. Fortunately, it's not as invasive as we feared and he should be fully recovered in 10 to 12 weeks. Fingers crossed that it goes well.
