John and I would love to do Hawaii but we choose to do the MV of the Fantasy and timing could not work with April 29 voyage to Hawaii.

That being said, if any single women needs a roomie, I would be interested!!

Must admit I’m getting a little concerned that we won’t get a reservation at Palo for our anniversary, because it’s our first cruise we may not get into Palo’s because we have to wait to book……. Is this likely?

I worried about the same thing on our first cruise, but had no problem getting a ressie. We also booked a brunch when we got on board without any problem and that was only a 10 night cruise. You can also call Palo's on the day and see if they've had any cancellations .. it happens.

We also booked Hawaii this morning.

A couple can often get in on the day they prefer if they wait list, too. Just talk to the Host in advance, or go to the booking table when you board, if you get shut out on line.

Congrats on booking Hawaii. I so wish we were at least gold members today, we will have to wait with the masses to book tomorrow.

Sounds like a great cruise Sue. Really pleased your dress fits too, you are having better luck than I am ..... or maybe you just accept what size you really are :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: I just won another one .... getting a bit addictive now and I still need formal and semi formal.

I've never bought clothes from ebay and am fascinated to see what you bought .. will you share pics?

I would like to loose 20 pounds, but until I get in the head to actually do it, I am just accepting the size I am. For the $20.00 I won the dress for, if I only wear it 2 -3 times that is OK.

Great deal, I think I might have to scope out ebay :thumbsup2

ALOHA. Booked next years cruise. Can you tell we love long cruises:cool1:

See ya aboard Lynne. Mission accomplished!!:scared1::scared1:

Now to address the weight......Jenny Craig time

We also love the longer cruises :lovestruc:lovestruc I hope we get on this one, will tomorrow never come?

Last yearn the WBTA I got a Palo's dinner reservation before we cruised, but couldn't get a brunch reservation, but easily got a brunch once we
Boarded.

Only problem was our dinner was on the day 10 and our brunch was for day 9 (so I bit close together) however about halfway through the cruise we called palos around lunchtime and they had availability for that days brunch, so we quickly got changed and headed up for lunch!

We certainly preferred brunch to dinner, I really didn't like what I ordered for dinner! I should really have just sent it back! Better luck this time.

We preferred brunch too food-wise , but I enjoyed the romantic ambience for dinner. What did you order that you didn't enjoy ??

Hi All

Today I purchased my 'backup' Fish Extender gifts,

While I plan to make gifts i'm such a perfectionist I rarely end up liking what I make, so if I have some backup gifts I can always bring those along....

Then again I might just bring them along even if my handmade gifts are successful, space allowing LOL

Well they certainly were brilliant last year ... I look at your handmade gift every day and it reminds me of a wonderful cruise :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I ordered the veal special, the server told us all about it and it sound delicious, however

(how can I put this????)

The presentation left a little to desired, I wish i'd taken a photo as it was one of the least appetising looking plates of food i've ever seen, and I eat out quite a bit!!!

And MAN was it SALTY!!!!! I kept expecting to find the salt grinder hidden in it!!!! The funny thing is that if i'd gone to a normal restaurant and they'd had brought me that i'd have sent it straight back, however I was clearly in holiday mode as I just let it slide!

Thank you so much, I was planning to just do a repeat of last years gifts again, but clearly I like to make my life as difficult as possible :lmao:, as I came up with a new idea that i'm trying to make work.

Truth is I LOVE crafting so I don't need any excuse to make new stuff, here's hoping it works:thumbsup2

It must be exciting booking a holiday in Hawaii, a Place my DH and I would love to go.....I hope you enjoy it :)

I would like to thank you and others for your comments re Palo's, just hope we can get in since it's a sea day 22 sept at end of cruise :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

I got my dress from Ebay yesterday and it fits perfect. I am very excited. I don't dress up often. More of a jeans and t-shirt, make that Mickey Mouse t-shirt kind of girl. ha ha.[/QUOTE]

 Thats great, it's so nice when that happens, I've had clothes arrive and they don't fit, or have wondered why I bid on them in the first place. But what a great feeling when it works:cloud9:

It must be a bit of a disappointment when you don't like what you have ordered, if it's the only chance you get to eat there. That's why I love my DH so much, he tends to play it safe, so if I don't like what I've ordered I pinch his dinner:) Last year in Malta decided to have the local dish which was rabbit stew, and took one look at it and pinched my DH steak:rotfl::rotfl:
After all must be some advantages to being married for so long !!!!!

Was hoping to do afternoon tea at Palo as well

DEFinitely should have sent it back! They're good about bringing you something else - or something else, too. :rotfl:

I LOVED their grilled shrimp appetizer and would have ordered it for my main, had I known how good it was going to be!

Hi everybody!
I thought I'd say hello because I'm seriously considering booking a cabin for myself for this trip if the price comes down like the may trip did. I'm graduating from college this semester, finishing student teaching and might just become addicted to cruising after I go on NCL in may... I'm a huge disney fanatic (hopefully i'll be working in WDW within the year) and can't imagine a better experience than going to on my first DCL Europe to FL transatlantic trip! I'd be doing this on my own as a solo travel. I've read some of the solo traveler experiences, but there doesn't seem to be many 22 year old males reviewing their solo experience... can't help enjoying the inner child! Thoughts? Is this something I would be welcomed into? This forum seems to be really nice, i have to say! Any advice?

If I were 22 again (knowing what I know now), I'd go for it. Sounds like a great graduation gift to yourself. No clue about how many peers you're likely to have on the trip, but you're welcome to hang with us "old fogies." ;)

Have 3 bites of real cheese cake and take the rest home! At 3 bites a day, it will last about a week! I am master of that - the neighborhood ladies went to lunch - we ordered 1 piece of pie and 9 forks. There was pie left at the end, but everybody had a sweet satisfying bite!

Well, after all the anticipation, I didn't even get to eat at Cheesecake Factory in Boston ... after a 5 hr. trip, my co-worker didn't want to drive another 15 min. in rush hr. traffic, so we settled on a Cracker Barrel next to our hotel. And I sooo had my sights on a piece of low-carb :yay:cheesecake. As for calories, you know the restaurant is not figure-friendly when they advertise their "weight management" menu items as less than 590 calories :crazy2: apiece (per their website).

Too funny!! We eat salads almost every night!!

When my John was young, he used to think tomatoes had "sticks" and would not eat them!!

My Larry won't eat raw tomatoes (he has no idea why, really ), but he loves stewed tomatoes, tomato sauces and soup, and salsa (he'll even eat fresh salsas/pico de gallo, but it took him years to adapt to that). And he's a very open, adventurous eater. Go figure :confused3.

All this yummy talk....it's becoming a food porn forum!:dance3:popcorn:: :woohoo:

Congrats to all who booked the new itineraries.

I agree not a diet friendly place. How was the Cracker Barrel?

Second that sentiment!

Okay, this you might not get - and probably won't be missing much, either. Can't hold a candle to tea you get in England or former colonies. With so many sea days, you might try for this onboard too, if unsuccessful online. They do not seat a full restaurant for tea, I think it's just the outer tables by the windows.

If you like mingling with people of various ages, not just your own age group, you'll get along fine. There are men on this cruise, too, just because they are married doesn't mean they will be hanging with their wives all the time.

Lurk, listen, join in, see if there is anyone you would be interested in dining with and get in on a bigger table to have conversation. I met a guy last year who was assigned by DCL to dine with one other person - a legally blind, non-English speaking single woman. Behind them was a table with 2 single women - now why not all together? Join our crowd and have company.

Also, any activities DCL has on the cruise are easily done without needing your own entourage.

Oh, and :welcome:

Just had Cracker Barrel for dinner here.
