I Love my husband's CPAP! My husband has one for his sleep apnea, and I sleep like a baby :cloud9: from the white noise that it makes. :thumbsup2

The white noise is good....but the chilly breeze when DH's mask leaks is a bit much for me. When I compare it to the "let's wake the dead snoring" that he used to have though, I'll take the chilly breeze any day of the week! :worship::worship:

Saw my post quoted at the top of the page and wondered how I managed to leave out so many words. Yikes!

Per the DCL site,

The following hotels, which all have a check-in time of 3:00 p.m., may be arranged through Disney Cruise Vacations:

  • Pullman Barcelona Skipper
  • Hilton Diagonal Mar
  • AC Diplomatic
  • Hotel Le Meridien

Seems that anyone staying at the above should have hotel lobby check-in for the cruise.

John and I were fortunate enough to get ressies to have tea, dinner and of course, we had a cocktail in the bar while we stayed in the hotel.

We saw Lion King in London as well as the Mousetrap. We were fortunate enough to meet the previous cast in the bar at the new casts first performance. It was like being in a play just chatting with them.

Decisions decisions......Disney musical or love story:confused3

John and I have traveled a great deal for both business and pleasure.

Yes, we do take travel quite for granted these days especially with the ability to upgrade with miles. I have traveled many, many miles aboard airplanes since I was a child. When my children were small, I use to take them to Hawaii for the weekend on Pan AM Flight #1.

However, flying first class these days is nothing like flying first class in the 1970's and 80's though I do admit Virgin Atlantic Upper Class is quite special. When my DH's company went public in 2000, we treated ourselves to that adventure from San Francisco to London.

The very first time I flew to Hawaii in 1975 it was on PanAm--707 out of SFO:thumbsup2

Since this trip is for our 30th anniversary, DH splurged a bit and got us some kind of upgraded premium economy class with a fancy seat:woohoo: I hope to arrive in London well rested. We are on Air New Zeland. Anybody have experience flying with them??

I thought I would check out the EBTA thread to see what they are all doing in our common ports (Madeira, Gibraltar), and they have a pretty cool spreadsheet compiling all their info that users update. :thumbsup2 Multiple tabs at the bottom, including how they are handling their FE groups.

This is what we did for last years WBTA for all the different activities. If my DH ever finishes the website we will have the same capabilities.

I can't believe they are at the 45 day mark!! I thought I'd check out their front page for what they are doing as a group (excursions), saw the spreadsheet, and was impressed. They definitely have quite the extensive list of children onboard. I'm thinking May is easier to take off from school (last couple of weeks maybe?) versus mid September. Sept 1 is our kindergarten cutoff date in Texas, and we missed it by a few days, so one last year of no stress of missing school for vacation! :)

I always find it interesting how states differ in the cutoff dates for kindergarten. Reminds me of when I was ready to go to kindergarten back in the 1950's that I was not allowed to go because I could read, write, add and subtract. Since that was considered too advanced to go to kindergarten, I was put in the first grade.

Soooooo, we'll have to try something like this once we decide how we want to break up the FE - and how many people/cabins we have. (And when I say "we," I mean you and me. Right, huh? Right? ;) ) I noticed groups 1 & 2 are a bit uneven - feeling a tad superior here, :rolleyes1 as we already thought about that. Looks like they have 40 cabins so far. I wonder if they've cut off the sign-up yet.

Okay, is it just me, or does our pg one look significantly more OCD than theirs? :lmao: I think we've got some serious planners here (nice way to say, "OCD")!

Hey, wait a minute. They have a Facebook page. Do we need a Facebook page? (No, I'm not volunteering. I had enough trouble figuring out how to set up my own Fb page. )

I'm game. We can figure it out sometime and skype or something. I noticed someone else popped on, so I exited. Haven't played with google docs enough to be sure I'm not messing anything up by looking!!

I didn't even notice if anyone else was there. I just scrolled and clicked tabs.

I'm going to bed. I actually have stuff I need to get done in the morning. Like starting to think about maybe getting started on my taxes. :rolleyes1

I created a Facebook page for us; I didn't use the one for last year's EBTA. Don't know if it will be helpful or not - sometimes you can have too much media.

I made it a closed group so that personal information could be displayed. PM or email me (option under my user name on DIS) and I'll add you.

If we find we don't need it, that's fine, too.

:) That sounds wonderful, and what fun you will have filling up that luggage allowance (and hopefully a great nights sleep on the way home ) But enough of that because there's a great holiday and cruise that awaits first, :)

Yes most definately! I don't even want to think about coming home.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: he's got a cheek, with his snoring, sounds like we are going to have a dawn chorus on deck 5 :rotfl:

Yes Claire definitely got into trouble for being cheeky on here ;) Deck 5 forward will be a noisy place, my zzzzz's seem to get a bit louder after a few :lmao:

:rotfl2: That's why i'm glad my DH doesn't come on here....although I am sure you will hear more than enough tales about me at dinner. :lmao:

Joking aside though, so so sorry to hear your sad news. Stevie and I are thinking of you and sending big :grouphug: :grouphug: to you, Lee and your family. It doesn't bear thinking about losing your parents so young, our thoughts are with you all

Thank you hun.

OMG you're mental !!! Upper Class !!! I thought I could spend for Britain, but you take the biscuit :lmao::lmao:

That must have cost you ££££££s

It's our 20th wedding anniversary - we are getting VA economy flights home which were free on airmiles..... bargain :rotfl2:

Actually it only cost me £280 in airport taxes. ;) I used our VA miles that we have been collecting. :dance3: It was crazy prices for a one way flight so I figured we may as well use them sometime. :thumbsup2

But your right I really can spend for Britain. :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Good job Lynne, I have sent a friend request to be added.

So glad some of you know how to do Facebook; I was thinking I would have to do some weird incantation to put you on; then I opened my FB account and saw the Friend Requests - easy peasy

While you two were pondering setting up sites, I started the FB page.

We used Google spreadsheet on the EBTA last year, too; it's just not that pretty.

Here was our website (it started as a way for me to keep info together)

I can only see the second one as I am one of the few that don't have a Facebook account.

I don't remember what I've had to fill out, but at the airport or crossing the border on a bus, I just went through customs - maybe filled out a form, but that's it.

When we drive across the border, we just show our passports.

Just a tip, FWIW, you can always contact the US Embassy in Ottowa to find out exactly what you need. As someone who works as a diplomat, U.S. Embassy web sites can be a wealth of information when traveling. You can google US Embassy in XXX country to find out about security concerns, visas, etc.

For example:

Hi, I think what you guys need is one more Karen to join the group, so .. HERE I AM

My hubby Ed and I are signed up for this cruise. Our longest cruise so far was the 10 night Southern Caribbean back in 06, so we are pretty psyched to spend 14 nights on the Magic.

You must be a chatty bunch to already have three threads going, seems like you also pretty diverse - country-wise. I'm a bit of a misfit myself. My parents emigrated to Australia from England when I was 3, where I lived until I was 20 and now I live in the US with my sweet Yankee Boy.

You can't hear it in my posts but I speak with an American accent (according to my Aussie friends) thats tinged with Aussie (according to my US friends). Sadly the only thing British left in me, is my love of English chocolates, Clotted Cream and the BBC period dramas ... yes I love me some Mr Darcy :goodvibes

Welcome Karen and Ed, only 164 days to go, we are certainly a mixed bunch. And did you have to mention clotted cream, I have a real fancy for a cream tea now..... it dosen't take much!!:) must admitt I'm a little worried about how I will cope with all that food on the cruise.
I wasn't the newbie to this forum for very long.....( noted you are a dis veteran) and yes another Karen! am still trying to get my head around how the forum works.
It's so exciting, not long now traveling with my husband Norman :)
