we were the same last year too, we were on the barcelona to dover repo, but only booked it about two months out (if that) so it was a real last minute runaround to not only book everything, but to join in the FE and stuff :)
but it was an awesome cruise so i cant argue at all!

Oh, Connie just reminded me of a similar question. If you use a credit card, how do they determine the exchange rate? Do the credit card companies have a surcharge for this, or does it depend on the company? We will probably be using our Chase Disney Visa.

Typically, the exchange rate on the credit card transaction is better than what individual consumers get - however, many cards charge a fee. AMEX charges 2.75%, can't remember what Chase does.

***Notify Chase before going on vacation - they are known for denying charges outside your usual area, especially in ports or foreign train stations (ie,
Barcelona subway system or train to Monserrat). When you call, have a list of the countries you'll be visiting ready.

Hi

We are in Falkirk so just up the road!

The last cruise was amazing totally loved it, knew we would do it again.

Yvonne really wanted to do transatlantic so when we saw there were no Med cruises next year together with finding a really good deal on flights home we decided to go for it.

Col

You are so close! We are in Tullibody, and I'm probably in Falkirk 2-3 times a week!

I think we definately have enough for a Tartan Army now! Maybe we could organise a pre-cruise get together some time this summer?

Which one ... are you near us ???? We are 6003 :thumbsup2

Welcome aboard. We are Sarah and Tony from Wales. We did the WBTA last year and loved it :cloud9::lovestruc:cloud9:

and yet more Scottish folk ..... :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Hi

Thanks for the welcome, we read your trip report on it thanks for taking the time to post it.

And yeah we turn up everywhere:rotfl2:

Hey Colin :welcome: aboard !
We are Mary and DH Stevie from Scotland too travelling solo on the WBTA without DD this time.
I think we may have spoken with you already, we were on the Dover to Barcelona last Summer too, we were chatting to a few Scottish couples and I have just asked my DD Rachel (16) and she said that she hung around with a Nicole from Scotland who was the same age as her. I am assuming it's the same person :thumbsup2
She's miffed now that she said she wasn't coming with us now that one of her old muckers is booked on the WBTA :lmao:
Do we have enough Scots on board now to have a Tartan Army? :rotfl2:
:lmao::lmao::lmao:[/QUOTE]

Hi, yeah we remember chatting to you and Nicole remembers rachel:)

Sounds like tartan army totally:rotfl2:

Karen I didn't realise you were on the Dover repo as well, I don't know if we crossed paths or not :)

We have an army, not the tartan one but a Toon one :rotfl:

Been to Gibraltar before? Worth going to Europa point? Otherwise, I'm just planning to do a little shopping and call it good.

We loved Gilbraltar when we were there last year. We tried to get up on the rock but the lines were so backed up that they had to cancel our tour.

We spent the day shopping and exploring on our own. There are some great shops and places for food. We hope to get on the rock this trip but we will also be doing the shopping thing. There is a great hand made glass store that I am sure will be parting us from some of our money this year.

Check out the new Hyatt Visa. As we understand it, there is no currency exchange fee, plus you get two free nights at ANY Hyatt property worldwide. There are some in the Park Hyatt chain that are well over $500+ per night for a basic room.

We're right there with ya!! I figure I could put Sarah on my shoulders and let her practice drumming on the ceiling ;)

So is one recommended over the other --- the rock versus Point Europa? I'm thinking our girls will enjoy seeing the monkeys (we saw lots in Barbados while doing a land vacation there). :confused3 We are with the DIS Dolphin group in the morning
