Ok so if you follow my antics on Facebook you will see I am possibly a lil drinker and embrace the English weekend events of Pub Crawls ( Sorry to anyone I may offend)... so after seeing what they were planning on the EBTA I want to see if there is any interest in a Disney Magic Pub Crawl.:drinking1:drinking1:drinking1

In my mind the crawl would go like this...

On a sea day those who were interested would meet in one of the bars for ( Traditionally a half pint pounded, I would suggest a drink of your choice) and then visit (Crawl) every other bar on the ship at least once.

As we do not have to worry about anything closing or how we are getting home, I would imagine we can spend 20-30 min at each location versus the 5-10 min you have on the monopoloy pub crawl in London.

Perhaps we can make tshirts up too.

Ok Just a thought.. What do you think?

Sounds like a great idea to me! :thumbsup2

Sign me & Lee (DH) up, although he doesn't drink too much but will be there to carry me from one to bar to another. :rotfl2:

Hi Everyone!! My DH and I were on the WBTA last year. We hoped to do it again in 2012, but it's not happening. Sooooo....we just booked for this year!! I'm so excited! We loved it last year. From day one I felt like I was missing something. That everyone knew something I didn't know. We walked around the halls each night and looked at doors and kept seeing thie "fish extender" phrase and "DIS". Once we figured it out I got home and found you! Now I know what I didn't know last year. I'm joining the FE groups, I'm doing the candy swap, I'm decorating our door. Thank you so much for all you're doing to make this cruise special. We're bringing my parents for a trip of a lifetime. They didn't get to go last time. Hope to see you all in September!!

Welcome aboard!!! Looking forward to getting to know you.

We are Claire & Lee, this is our 3rd cruise. :)

Edit: I would be willing to get with my friend that is a graphic designer to get some t-shirt art put together for those participating, but would rather not deal with getting the shirts made and hauling them to Europe with us. Maybe one of our European or UK friends could get the T-shirts printed?

If you are able to get the image designed & email it to everyone taking part then I would think it's easy enough for everyone to print our own t shirts. :thumbsup2

Welcome aboard.. This is my First Disney Cruise and my first TA but 10th overall. Looking forward to meeting you and the family.

Dan

We are entertained by your Facebook antics to be sure - I'm pretty sure I've been in every London pub (virtually) along with you & Bruce just by looking at my news feed!

I think this sounds like a fun idea - especially having another T-shirt to add to the collection. :drinking1

Chris - Lets see if we can get your mate to do something incorporating our current logo and perhaps some pirates or something drinking... keeping in mind we need to stay family friendly.

For printing I woudl say we just get them done at the same place that is doing our current shirts as I think you just send them the artwork and they do the rest.

I will see if we can get this added to the main page and I will start keeoing a list.

I will put together a plan in due course.

Dan

I am in Vancouver, ready to board the Magic tomorrow for my 50th birthday cruise to Alaska.

Happy Birthday Lynne and we hope you have a magical cruise, but wouldn't it be the Wonder you are cruising on .... I ahve the strangest feeling that the Magic is over this side of the Atlantic :thumbsup2

Welcome aboard!! We are Noel and John and this will be our 5th cruise on DCL. Our last cruise was the 2010 WBTA so if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask or PM me. Tell us your names and something about yourselves.

My DH John and I have created a website for you view other cruisers and sign in with your information. If you want to add your picture, you can send it to us at nbirkner@yahoo.com

WBTA Website

02. If people are interested in being in the same area as other DIS'ers to send Dan (Cliffy97) a PM with Lead Passenger name, your booking number and if you are Early or Late seating. Dan was told by Disney today that this is all they need to put folks together. :-).

04. If you are interested in Secret Mickey Exchange, please PM Karen (karentan).

05. If you are interest in getting a WBTA lanyard, please PM Noel (birkner). See this lanyard link for example of the previous 2010 WBTA lanyard.

Hopefully, a group of DISers will volunteer to underwrite the lanyards as they did last year so they will be free to the rest of the DISers. We already have several people offering to be part of the lanyard underwriting group. If you wish to join, please send Noel (Birkner) a PM. If we get enough members, the cost should be $10 or less per member.

07. If you are interested in purchasing a WBTA t-shirt printed with a variation of the cruise meet logo, Karen (Pixie_Dust_For_Me) has kindly offered to organise this for our cruise. Price will be approximately $7 per t-shirt, and sizes range from Youth XS (size 2) to Youth XL; Adult S to Adult 4XL.

08. If you are interested in participating in a Mickey Mouse Club night, please check out this Mickey Mouse club post. Plans are to do this event on Monday September 19 at both early and late seating dinners. We will all wear our Mickey Mouse shirts and ears!!

09. I am thinking of organizing the same tour I did last year in Madeira. Here is the Madeira link to a PDF file that gives more information about the 2010 tour. If you are interested, please send Noel (birkner) a PM.

10. We are also going to do a Champagne Girls meet. The Champagne Girls event originated on the WBPC cruise in 2008. Women get together dressed in pink to drink champagne or non alcoholic bubbly and chat. Pictures of the first meet are in this post and pictures from the last WBTA are in this post. Please PM (Clare)Pinky166 to add you name to the list.

11. If you would like to join in the Scrapbooking Exchange, please PM Clare (Pinky166) with your name and room number. The idea is to give your fellow exchangers some scrapbooking embellishments for use in your scrapbooks after you return home! For more info check this post.

12 Join us for a Pajama breakfast on September 18 at 10:00 AM at Lumiere's. We will meet outside Lumiere's at 9:50 AM to take group pictures. If you are interested, please PM Mandy (MandyGirl) with the number in your party.

17. Karen (Pixie Dust For Me!)is organizing a stateroom tour, but we can't do it without you! PM me with your stateroom assignment and room number and we will tour as many staterooms as possible. It would be great to get one in every category!

When: Definitely on a sea day....stay tuned for which day!
Time: TBD
Where: You will be given a list of participating stateroom numbers and categories the day after we embark (to account for all those upgrades, don't you know )
Refreshments: Optional per discretion of stateroom participant.

18. If anyone wants to organize a postcard exchange, please feel free to start one. What we did las year is bring a postcard from where we lived and left in each other's FE. It is best to limit the number of participants no more than 25 as cost and weight to bring become an issue.

Husband is especially excited about this "unsanctioned" Disney excursion! :lmao: So.....I guess you can count us in on this one!!!!

Once you get a date, a logo and more details, would you like me to add to the Welcome Wagon post? If so, send me a PM with what you want me to add so I can be sure it ends up in our DIS Navigator.

How nice, something for the boys to participate in. Although I'm not for one minute suggesting that girls do not enjoy pub crawls, or should be excluded!

It's just with "ladies high tea" and "champagne girls" organised it's nice to have something a little more MANLY for the husbands to join in with, GRRRR!!!! Insert TOOL TIME sound effects here !!!

Sadly I don't drink, however I'm more than happy to be the designated "guider" for those who need help returning to their stateroom after the event, and take lots of incriminating photos to post online when you return home.....:rotfl::rotfl:

Welcome aboard!! :) This is our first Disney cruise, the last eight have been just 7-nighters on HAL, X, and NCL. This is also our first cruise to take our two little ones on. :) Like you, I am VERY glad to have found the DIS! The rollcall on CruiseCritic is very lethargic. I think DCL cruisers all come to DIS!

Husband is especially excited about this "unsanctioned" Disney excursion! :lmao: So.....I guess you can count us in on this one!!!!

You guys are cracking me up! :rotfl2:

hi, has anyone used 1800 fly europe to book there flights, we have seen a really good price for a virgin flight, but never seen them before, thanks

Yes, we used them to book this time. We already have our itinerary and have confirmed our booking directly with the airline. We actually called them directly and re-arranged our flights prior to booking so that we could have a longer layover and London to do some sightseeing. The customer service people are very easy to work with and the whole thing seems to be legitimate. I'm very happy as we saved several hundred dollars each and got better flight options than we could get directly from the airline!

OK guys I have added this to my post on the front page............

Room changes/Upgrades once onboard!

PLEASE NOTE:

If you are lucky enough to get an upgrade / change of stateroom and are taking part in any of the special events, such as the Fish Extender, Secret Mickey, Candy Swap, Scrapbook exchange etc then you will need to notify everyone of your new room number as soon as possible. Therefore I will put a whiteboard on my stateroom door 6507 as soon as we can access the rooms after boarding, please make your way there asap & leave a message stating your DIS name, old room number & new room number.

Anyone distributing gifts/exchange presents should swing by & check the board before delivering gifts to check on any room changes. I will also have a few spare printed FE lists in my FE just incase anyone forgets to bring a copy with them.

In the unlikely event that I get a room upgrade, I will put my white board on one of my neighbours doors (probably Mary, Tod&Copper #6511, if she doesn't mind ;) ) as there are several of us in that area of the ship. (I'll clearly mark the whiteboard as room change info so you know it is the right one & not someone's general message board).
Thanks :thumbsup2

Thanks for offering to do this, Claire. :thumbsup2 You never know you may get a sprinkling of pixiedust: at the port!

We're going to try for an upgrade next Wednesday at the port for a cheaper price than being offered on the DCL website.

We just want a bit more extra room when Rachel is with us. We could use the verandah as a sin bin :lmao:

We didn't find that we spent much time in the room on last year's WBTA, an upgrade would be a lovely bonus, but then I would miss all the deck 6 dancing and my sideways trannies :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Hope you're successful, Mary :wizard:

OMG I just noticed that today is.......

My Double Digit Day!!!!!

Welcome! We also were planning on doing a TA in 2012, but lo and behold Disney decided not to do Europe in 2012 so it wasn't to be. We did the EBTA last year and loved it. Disney does an amazing job with entertaining you on all of the sea days.

That's us as well... a red eye flight on the 7th. However, we are having a two-night stopover in New York first (leaving home the 5th). :dance3:

Welcome!!!!! We are Tony and Sandy from California. We did the EBTA last year and the Panama Canal this past January. Love the longer cruises :thumbsup2

Hopefully the excursions are the same as the reservations, there is still some availability onboard so that people aren't prejudiced if they don't have a pc at home :thumbsup2

Fingers crossed that's the case if there's no availability on line.

I am sooo jealous you are going to the Canadian Grand Prix, we are going to miss it, its the weekend after we board the Magic, but we will have recorded it, so can catch up when we get home. We are on our Naples port day that Sunday. I'll be in Herculaneum/Pompeii and you'll be at the Grand Prix, talk about one extreme to the other :lmao:
I've wanted to go to Pompeii since learning Latin in high school. The books we used were about a family who lived there. DD went there with her school a few years back and loved it. Hope you have fun! :)

Lorraine you are killing me, there so much on there I NEED to buy. Why oh why is that site so much better than the UK disney site :confused3

Sorry Mary, didn't mean to be the cause of temptation !! :lmao:

I've just finished printing out our magnets for our cruise next week. We use magnetic A4 paper that goes through your regular printer. It cost about £5 for 10 sheets off ebay, which is the cheapest I could find. I think it is so much easier that using magnetic tape.

I'm tempted to make some magnets for this cruise. I've never done them before, but have always been impressed with people's artistic skills. Just curious though, do you use a lot of colored printer ink making them?

I'll bring home my Buena Vista Threatre Movie list home with me and let you all know what is showing just now on the Magic

That would be good, thanks :thumbsup2:

See above :)

Chris - Lets see if we can get your mate to do something incorporating our current logo and perhaps some pirates or something drinking... keeping in mind we need to stay family friendly.

I will get with my friend tomorrow and see what we can come up with. He's really creative and does some great work.

I will likely look for a site like customink.com where I can upload the design and then everyone who wants to order one can do so and have it shipped direct. I need to find a site that is friendly when it comes to shipping to those of you overseas.

I hope we can get a bunch of you to participate!
