Disney Springs - Renaissance, Wyndham Garden, or Drury?

I'm looking to add one night to my upcoming stay. I have 2 nights at Old Key West and I want to add a third night. I'm checking out some Disney Springs hotels that are priced less than onsite rooms.

I'm checking an opaque hotel revealer for Priceline/Hotwire, and discounts through MouseSavers. I have it narrowed down to the following (with all taxes and fees included):

$91 - Renaissance (Priceline)
$99 - Wyndham Garden (Priceline)
$153 - Drury (with MouseSavers discount)

I've stayed at the Drury before and I really liked it. The transportation and included breakfast, dinner & drinks are all great.

Do you think it's worth it to pay $62 extra to stay at the Drury? I've never stayed at the Renaissance, but I'd be willing to rough it for one night haha. The Drury is so tempting though! There's also the reassurance of booking directly through Drury instead of using Priceline.

How much are the Wyndham and Renaissance if you book direct? Even if you do book the Priceline rate (and I have successfully booked through third parties before) when I sit back and think “Is X hotel worth more than Y hotel?” I compare apples to apples rates. I might compare Mousesavers or AAA, since both of those are usually booked direct, or I might compare Expedia, Priceline, and other third parties to each other. I feel there is a different set of risks with a third party reservation that you don’t have booking direct, such as the likelihood of being “walked” if the hotel overbooks, or getting a less desirable location or room layout, or missing out on loyalty points.

In your case, the first thing I would do is see if I can get the third night at OKW so I didn’t have to move. Yes, that is a pricier option, but convenience would win over price for me. If I couldn’t, then I would look at Disney value resorts before I would look at DS or off property resorts. Again, it’s the convenience factor, in this case the option of having Disney move the luggage so I can do other things. If it got down to where I knew I would have to choose a non Disney hotel, I would choose the one that saved me the most money while still being close enough that a move to OKW would still be somewhat convenient. Don’t forget to check for any resort fees or applicable parking fees, especially when looking at third party sites where they may be less obvious.

We are on the same wavelength about checking Disney on site rates. I did check before looking at Disney Springs hotels.

I'm a DVC member and the 2 nights at OKW are on points. There are no DVC studios avail at OKW on points or cash rates. There are no studios available at any resort on points (plus I'd need to borrow points).

I qualify for an AP room discount but even with that, the cheapest rooms are over $220 at Coronado. Checking rooms without discounts, the cheapest is over 220 for Pop. Unfortunately there's nothing available at the All Stars.

I was happy when I saw decent Disney Springs hotels under $100 including all taxes and fees on Priceline.

Great idea to check direct rates thanks!

Renaissance is a lot more - $148 all in
Wyndham Garden is not bad - $120 all in

Luckily Mears Connect and Owner's Locker drop off at all three of those hotels (including Drury). They're a short Uber ride over to OKW.

It helped to "talk" it out! Still haven't decided, but now I'm sure I covered all bases.

I've got Drury booked as a first night on a future trip. I'm not familiar with the other two.

The advantage to the Drury is going to be the free food, which, if you take advantage of it, could be a big savings for a family.

If you are a single person or a couple who will only sleep in the hotel I would not pay extra.

Drury all the way if you’re heading to a park in that time period. If not, I’d go for Renaissance.
