i must admit i love father jack, will just have to roll with it, maybe it will give us some laughs:rotfl2:

DRINK!!!! FECK!!!

hope it turns out ok for you, sorry but had to giggle at the father jack bit as he was also my favourite and my dd married a vicar's son and he was just like father jack we spent most of the wedding laughing, his son was nothing like him thankfully, will be thinking of you on sunday, susie

:offtopic:

im needing to vent guys are you all seem to be the only ones about right now:lmao:

its ellies christening on sunday, just phoned church just to confirm details to be told father is away and they hoping the Canon can done it :scared1:
now the Canon may be a lovely man but the only comparison i can give is Father Jack:scared1: for all of you who have never seen seen Father Ted please google a picture, it will cheer you up:rolleyes1 but im feeling rather:sick:

now also cakes were ordered a month ago, owner told me she couldnt deliver saturday as she was gettin married, this should have set alarms ringing for me, but she promised she could do the decorations and send them and i could do the cupcakes, no problems you would think......:sad2: nothing received, supposed to come by courier yesterday, she not answering my calls or replying to emails

sorry to go on but...........im :headache:

Oh my, that's not on at all. Hope you get something sorted.

Ha Ha nothing in particular. it's just that we are a bit messy :scared1: I was wondering if we should tidy up for him first :rotfl:

Well personally I would tidy up. It doesn't have to be perfect at all. No way could I let someone come and do his work in my mess. You can put a do not disturb sign on the door whenever you don't want to be bothered though.

They leave the doors open when they do their work, and I have gone past some seriously disgusting cabins. (I'm not saying yours would be by the way!!!!!) I just can't see how anyone could do that, just not fair to the host.

Oh we're not that bad :littleangel: But it can get messy especially in such a small space with TEENAGERS :scared1:

Yay! We were thinking of linking dining reservations that are being done on this DIS thread with the request to be seated near other families with kiddos. Might help occupy the kiddos during dinner. Now, of course, one one Celebrity cruise, we were grouped with tablemates, and we learned how to flip our spoon into our glass.... and nobody at the table was under age 30. :rolleyes1

But yes - the 45 min expedited dining is our biggest factor. Plus, when boarding in Barcelona, an 8:30 dinner is like 12:30 back home (noon) and I know our timeclocks will all be out of whack!!

The expedited dining does sound great - can you also just have them eat dinner at the clubs if you were doing earlier dining? I was thinking if we go to Palo one night, I'd rather go earlier. The other thing is Pirate night - do you get out of dinner in the MDR so late that you miss it? Final question (for now, anyway), how do you request that you be seated with families with other kids of like ages (like you, Binkytell and seraphine :))?

Teenagers aren't the only ones!

Dennis and I are exact opposites when it comes to neatness. At home, my stuff is everywhere and he is very neat. But...

On vay-cay, we switch. I'm very neat, b/c in such a small space (hotel room, stateroom) I can't stand to have stuff scattered all over. Dennis, however, explodes. He tosses his stuff everywhere, then laughs when I get annoyed. I've gotten to the point where we have "his" half of the table/furniture/whatever and "my" half. He can junk up his space as much as he likes, but he'd better not drift into my space! I can't wait to see what happens on this trip. I think the longest we've had to share a small space is a week.

If you happen to be wandering on Deck 5, and see a bunch of clothes, shoes, and miscellaneous junk in the hallway, you'll know I got fed up with his messiness! :rotfl:

Good news regarding the Mixology and Mojito tastings...

I've just received this email from Dorothy :)

Hi Michelle,

We would be glad to do that for you within 30 days of sailing.
The minimum is 25 guests the max is 50.
The price is $20 pp.
We will need all the names of those attending and they will be charged whether they show or not.

Take care,

I will update the first page with this info. I have said a cut off date of 31st July 2011 so we know who is going:)
I will need some more information from those that have expressed and interest in the tastings as the money for it will be charged to their onboard account.

Thanks for organizing this Michelle. :thumbsup2

I better make sure I get my $20 worth then

A while back I posted that I changed to late seating because of the time change I thought that my 2 young boys would be more comfortable eating late (since their internal clocks would tell them that it was mid-afternoon). But now I'm thinking that trying to keep them eating in the dining room until 10pm is just ridiculous - they are going to be tired from running around all day, and the safer bet is to do the early dining. We can always get room service if they are hungry late.

One other parent responded when I posted something before and they were also doing late dining. For those of you traveling with kids, are the majority doing early dining? Thanks

Hi there Hope everyone is well?

We are on the early dining. We did late dining on our Med cruise last year and it was too late. We did think this would be ok at the time as our son is very energetic and does'nt go to bed early (not that we dont try to get him to bed early he just has too much energy ) Also DH thought he missed out on the late buffets (dessert buffet:rolleyes1)as he was to full up from our evening meal to enjoy them. I supose it's kind of tricky in deciding what to do for the best but we learn by our mistakes but it was also a nice way of learning. I hope this helps.

Also, since we're starting to think about cut offs for the FE, I need a cut off for secret Mickey too. What does everyone think about mid august? Thinking of leaving it a bit later than the FE because we're only buying one gift instead of 100 odd! What do you all think?

That sounds good to me. I assume we'll be assigned our "giftee" then?

That works for us! I'm really looking forward to those tastings.

Oh, btw, we are now

PAID IN FULL!!!!

:woohoo::woohoo::yay::yay::dance3::yay::yay: :woohoo::woohoo:

Dennis better get that leave time!!

I paid with my Disney Visa, thinking I'd get the $50 OBC that they advertise. I called DCL to check on it, and was told since we were on the military rate, we couldn't get it. Well, actually, what the woman said was, "I can apply that, but it will change your fare to $5000." Um, $3000 more to get $50 OBC? No, thanks. Duh. Apparently, the OBC can't be combined with other offers. I should still get the 0% interest for 6 months, though, so that will be nice - use their money for a couple of extra months.

I believe that they have a set time for meals with kids clubs :confused3 so that will be Plan B if our 5 year old can't handle dinner. We do plan to ALL take a nap and have a "snack" prior to the show.

Linking reservations: I think someone here is doing it that we need to PM. We would LOVE to dine with other families. We all know each of our kiddos have their own quirks! LOL.

Pat - you and I sound waaaaaay too much the same! I'm the organizational nut, but at home, if I can find it within 2 minutes, I'm considered "organized"!! But on the ship in that confined space, I'm a neat freak. Packing cubes are my Best Friend!

I am hoping it will help me AVOID the buffets later at night :rotfl2: Granted, this is our first cruise WITH kids, so we may be learning... but all other cruises have been late. I'm kinda liking the dinner after the show so we don't feel "rushed during dinner to hurry up and eat to get a good seat" mentality.

I just clicked the button as well. We were told the same thing about the $50 OBC... so we lost it changing the reservation as well. Since my birthday is this summer, when family have been asking what to get me, I have been telling them Disney Gift Cards. With pre-paid gratuities done, that means gift cards will go for fun stuff (like mixology tastings!).

We didn't get any OBC either Pat as we got the MEO code and they said that it couldn't be applied to our booking, but others have booked with MEO and got $25 OBC...never mind;)

Great news about being PIF :thumbsup2

At home, I have my own idiosyncratic organizational system. It consists of piles of stuff in various places. I can almost always find what I want within a few minutes. Dennis does not understand this. The only time I can't find something is when he's moved it - usually to the wrong pile.

Yay!! We're going to have to meet up at JFK, once I book our flights. I'm now waiting to see if I need one ticket or two. :sad2: Dennis better get that leave time.

When is your birthday? Mine is Aug 6, so we'll be leaving exactly one month after. My family doesn't really do birthday gifts any more, but that's a good idea. We did the Disney Honeymoon Registry when we got married and our friends were very generous. With two households of stuff, there really wasn't anything we needed, but the contributions to our bar tab were greatly appreciated! ;)

Dan (cliffy97) is compiling the list of linked dining and will submit it to DCL in August after we have all had a chance to make all of our different plans/reservations. Apparently if you do it too early it becomes problematic to book things and make changes.

I believe details on linked dining are on the first page of the thread.

Time to think about Lanyards and Pins
I want to be sure that everyone who wants a pin or lanyard has PM'd me. I have put information about pins and lanyards below. I will continue to take orders for pins until mid June. I would like to get the lanyards and pins on order at that time.

I will order a few extra lanyards but only those who have ordered pins will be able to get them after the cutoff date.

Anyone who would like to join the lanyard sponsorship team should also PM me if they have not do so.

If you want pins or lanyards, please be sure to PM me if you have not done so already.

Details about pins and lanyards are below. You can also PM with any questions.

Lanyards and pins

Because so many people have asked about lanyards and pins what did they look like last year, I decided to post a picture. Our lanyards this year will be wider and have a water resistant pouch.

I will be making up lanyards with waterproof holders for all the DIS members who PM me. The lanyards and badge holders will look like the ones below though I have not decided in what color.

Lanyards
Badge Holders

Here is what last years lanyards and pins (on the card) looked like:

That's great news! Can you tell me what mixology involves? What's even more fun for me is that DH and I decided to hold off on trying for a new LO until December because if I get preggars before that we wouldn't be able to do the DCL Hawaii cruise. I told DH that if DCL throws anymore awesome cruises our way I'm gonna end up too old to have any more kids! :rotfl: So that means I can drink all I want on the WBTA! This should be great fun :goodvibes

We will definitely do that!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Dennis and Curt may "be in the same boat" with Curt trying to do standby. Of course, he went through vacation bidding LAST June for all of 2011... so at least THAT has been locked in place!

And nothing wrong with piles... ;)

My b-day is June 29. It's really only the parents and in-laws that give us gifts, but every little gift card adds up! :)

Thanks for the reminder! :thumbsup2 Do small children usually do a lanyard as well? I'm thinking we will just be keeping their Key cards on us since they wear a wristband, right? :confused3 Still learning all this "cruise with kid" stuff! :)
