Mel, there aren't any cat 9d's on any decks other than deck one. As final payment date is today, you could possibly cancel and look into an oceanview GTY which seems to be cheaper than cat 9d's. Not sure how thatd work with virgin though.
If you tend to feel claustrophobic, I'd say stick with the oceanview, last thing you'd want to do is ruin your holiday by being stuck in a room that'd make you feel ill

Hi Karen

My final payment date is 10th June with Virgin but they don't like to change bookings :confused3

I would only change to another ocean view though. Hope I don't feel too seasick looking out the porthole

There's no point me looking if all cat d are on deck 1. I did see a vid on you tube that was only a couple of doors from me and it was perfectly fine. If people have purposely booked deck 1 for peace and quiet you might want to move before we get there :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rolleyes:

The only way you'd get an oceanview on a higher deck if to upgrade to a cat 9c or higher. There's only something like 25 9d's anyway so if they're selling GTYs on oceanview, my guess is that a lot of people will end up on 9c's or higher anyway. I'm sure hoping for a pixie dust upgrade :)
Dont worry about you guys being the only ones to break the peace and quiet, if we end up down there too all you'll probably hear for two weeks is the clinking of wine and spirit bottles! :rotfl:

Could you post a link to the YouTube vid? I was looking for some earlier but couldn't find any

28th may before we can book anything. I don't mind the times left for palo brunch, just gobsmacked there are no late dinner readies left on a 14 night cruise :confused3

I'm just surprised with that mainly because of how MANY cabins are left in each category that we are actually able to see! We all know the ship is not near capacity...

we are doing late dining too, my girls are 9 & 8 months(at time if cruise). Beth is used to dining out with us an sits quite happily and hopefully ellie will be sleeping lol hoping to use nursery some nights too.

We're doing late dining - with kids aged 6 and 2. See you there!!!

We usually do a late afternoon nap with both kids, but now we'll have to factor show times in there too. Maybe we can get a room service snack while we're getting ready, go to the show, and then to dinner?

The idea that someone will come and collect Calum from the table at dinner is a lifesaver - he doesn't get how we can take so long to eat dinner!!!

Yay! We were thinking of linking dining reservations that are being done on this DIS thread with the request to be seated near other families with kiddos. Might help occupy the kiddos during dinner. Now, of course, one one Celebrity cruise, we were grouped with tablemates, and we learned how to flip our spoon into our glass.... and nobody at the table was under age 30. :rolleyes1

But yes - the 45 min expedited dining is our biggest factor. Plus, when boarding in Barcelona, an 8:30 dinner is like 12:30 back home (noon) and I know our timeclocks will all be out of whack!!

Our little one is really good at just "hanging out". Otherwise, curl up in Mommy's arms, put thumb in mouth, and fall asleep. (I don't spoil her AT ALL...) I am hoping to try the nursery, although at church this past Sunday she made it about 5 minutes before I was paged during worship service (that is the max cry time I allow). She is accustomed to me serving in the nursery during Sunday School, so I think she was just going through that separation anxiety. Hopefully we will be through that in four more months!!

We are in 7134 on the port side - I think that would probably be better than 7634 (where we were) since the port side will be getting the sunshine during the trip west.

We're just the opposite... trying to avoid the sun... but hope it isn't too chilly on starboard! Hopefully starboard will also help us not have morning light and sleep in a little longer. That's Curt's favorite part of a cruise - sleeping. Nice rocking motion, and pitch black if an inside cabin. That sunlight affecting his sleep and naps is the only hesitation he had about us switching to verandah.

I'm a bit worried about feeling claustrophobic so I thought having a window will be great. I don't want to feel like I'm in a prison cell :rotfl2:

If I win the Euromillions tonight you'll find me in the Walt Disney Suite :lmao:

 If you win that, you're buying the next round of cruises for your favorite DIS buddies!!! I am claustrophobic (have to see out on airplanes and in cars) but have had several inside cabins with no window and have done fine. Even while cruising when preggo. :thumbsup2

Mandy - Our sailing is a little southwest across the Atlantic, so you should be in good shape in the mornings, but you might get some late afternoon/evening sun on that side to keep it from being too chilly!

We waited until the last minute, but we're paid up and official now, too. All that is left is to figure out which flight back home we want. They are surprisingly more expensive than in years past to do the one-way from Florida.

Even Southwest doesn't appear to be the cheapest. They've made up for the free baggage allowance in their fares.

Oh, I would be sooooo P.O.'d!! This doesn't sound good. What was she thinking, agreeing to do this right before her own wedding?? I hope your package arrives today. Do you have a Plan B?

Only slight hesitation I have on being really far aft is motion sickness - for Jeremy, not for me. I'm good in cars, planes, boats, roller coasters - no issues. J does fine on everything but roller coasters, and he does not like riding backwards on trains, buses, etc.

We'll be loaded up with everything as precautionary measures - ginger pills, candied ginger, Bonine and probably a prescription for the patch to take with us just in case it's needed! :thumbsup2

Oh Sarah, what a nightmare! It's bad that they didn't tell you in advance that he wouldn't be available. I hope you get things sorted. :wizard: I did giggle at Father Jack though....sorry. :flower3:

As for the cupcake decorations...... That is awful, have you paid for them? It's no wonder you are p'd off!

Room attendant question?

What do they actually do and what is acceptable to ask them for and what is not? :confused3

I watch Father Ted and love Father Jack;)

We were just wondering the same about being so far forward. Although we never felt much when we were in 7620 but then again we weren't sailing across the atlantic ocean;)
I think we'll be taking something for sea sickness too, better to be safe than sorry:goodvibes

What they do: make your bed, clean your bathroom, bring you ice, turn down your bed at night, and take care of virtually every room-related need. :cloud9:

You may not ask them to rub your feet, back, or any other body part. :rotfl:

We had great room attendants on both of our cruises, but on our second one, we saw our attendant at the beginning and the end of the cruise, and a couple of times in between. Yet our room was always in perfect condition, with extra ice and any/every thing we needed/wanted. It was like having our own house elf!

Brilliant :rotfl: That is a shame though
