hi, thought i would pass on to anyone else that wants a sideways cabin, that 6019 is now showing available, down side is we would be your neighbours lol,

That's great news! Can you tell me what mixology involves? What's even more fun for me is that DH and I decided to hold off on trying for a new LO until December because if I get preggars before that we wouldn't be able to do the DCL Hawaii cruise. I told DH that if DCL throws anymore awesome cruises our way I'm gonna end up too old to have any more kids! :rotfl: So that means I can drink all I want on the WBTA! This should be great fun :goodvibes

Not exactly sure Lauren :) It is where you get to Mix your own cocktails I believe. Last years WBTA's would be better answering that one.
If my memory serves me correctly - Sarah took part in last years?

Thanks for the reminder! :thumbsup2 Do small children usually do a lanyard as well? I'm thinking we will just be keeping their Key cards on us since they wear a wristband, right? :confused3 Still learning all this "cruise with kid" stuff! :)

I think most of the lanyard last year were worn by adults to identify each other. Plus, of course, it make a wonderful souvenir and a place to put lots of lanyard pins on!! My GK's wore them but they are all over 10.

Good news regarding the Mixology and Mojito tastings...

I've just received this email from Dorothy :)

I will update the first page with this info. I have said a cut off date of 31st July 2011 so we know who is going:)
I will need some more information from those that have expressed and interest in the tastings as the money for it will be charged to their onboard account.

Great news, maybe i'll send her my Champagne Girls request now. ;)

Oh & Lee has said he WILL do the Mixology one. :yay: :cool1: So both for mixology & just me for Mojito. :thumbsup2

Teenagers aren't the only ones!

Dennis and I are exact opposites when it comes to neatness. At home, my stuff is everywhere and he is very neat. But...

On vay-cay, we switch. I'm very neat, b/c in such a small space (hotel room, stateroom) I can't stand to have stuff scattered all over. Dennis, however, explodes. He tosses his stuff everywhere, then laughs when I get annoyed. I've gotten to the point where we have "his" half of the table/furniture/whatever and "my" half. He can junk up his space as much as he likes, but he'd better not drift into my space! I can't wait to see what happens on this trip. I think the longest we've had to share a small space is a week.

If you happen to be wandering on Deck 5, and see a bunch of clothes, shoes, and miscellaneous junk in the hallway, you'll know I got fed up with his messiness! :rotfl:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Poor Dennis.

I am the same, always keep the cabin tidy...I give up with trying to get Lee to keep it tidy so I end up just clearing his mess up for him. I find it is easier than me constantly nagging at him.

My b-day is June 29. It's really only the parents and in-laws that give us gifts, but every little gift card adds up! :)

Oooh that's close, Lee is the 27th June and i'm the 16th June......we're all summer babies. :goodvibes

Just noticed for anyone that is after a sideways cabin on Deck 6 6521 is showing available.

Hi there Hope everyone is well?

We are on the early dining. We did late dining on our Med cruise last year and it was too late. We did think this would be ok at the time as our son is very energetic and does'nt go to bed early (not that we dont try to get him to bed early he just has too much energy ) Also DH thought he missed out on the late buffets (dessert buffet:rolleyes1)as he was to full up from our evening meal to enjoy them. I supose it's kind of tricky in deciding what to do for the best but we learn by our mistakes but it was also a nice way of learning. I hope this helps.

Well, if by helps you mean "makes me question my decision" the answer is yes. :headache: But seriously, thanks for your input. I just don't know what to do. :confused3 The main thing that is making me lean towards the late dining at this point is the fact they will pick them up and take them to the kids clubs instead of making my kids sit through 2 hours (or eating completely separate from them). But I hadn't thought about missing out on the buffets:eek: Also, my kids are not real good at taking naps on vacations, so they could be tired and cranky by 9pm. But, we can sleep in a little bit, except for on excursion days.

I think I will keep the later dining for now. It looks like there are some other families doing this, and if we get seated together maybe the kids will all go off to the clubs together after 45 minutes and I'll have the best of both worlds - I'll get to eat with my kids, then get to eat without them. :yay:

Great news, maybe i'll send her my Champagne Girls request now. ;)

Okey dokey will add him to the list.

Neil's birthday is a week or so before we sail. Mine is December. I suppose we could celebrate his birthday as well as our anniversary :rolleyes1

I just got back from the vets with my two fur babies. When will I learn that it is far less stressful to take them one at a time! :rolleyes1

Anyway my baby boy needs to have two lumps (and a possible third) removed and biopsied on Tuesday along with some chest x rays....so if you've got any spare pixie dust I could use it by the bucket load on Tuesday. :guilty: It was this time last year he had a cancerous tumour removed from his ear, they had to take pretty much all of his inner ear away with it. I don't think I can face anything like that again, it broke my heart to see him crying out in so much pain. :sad1:

Aww Claire....loads of pixiedust: coming you fur babies way.

When Oscar or yellow lab had to go in and have a lump removed I was so worried. It broke our heart too.:sad1: Hope all goes well.

Jane, I kept a couple of spare posts on the front two pages in case any other info was needed on there so could you PM me with the info you want put on it about the book swap and I'll put it on there later. Just outside work at the mo and if no-one reminds me I'm likely to forget!

Also, since we're starting to think about cut offs for the FE, I need a cut off for secret Mickey too. What does everyone think about mid august? Thinking of leaving it a bit later than the FE because we're only buying one gift instead of 100 odd! What do you all think?

Karen, I'm interested in doing FE, are you the person I sign up with?

28th may before we can book anything. I don't mind the times left for palo brunch, just gobsmacked there are no late dinner readies left on a 14 night cruise :confused3

I'm pretty sure that they don't make all of the reservations available online. When we couldn't get a booking online for our 1st cruise, we stood in line for about 1/2 hour once we were onboard, and had no trouble with reservations ... mind you, we were fairly open on our choice of times.

I'm a bit worried about feeling claustrophobic so I thought having a window will be great. I don't want to feel like I'm in a prison cell :rotfl2:

If I win the Euromillions tonight you'll find me in the Walt Disney Suite :lmao:

I am very claustrophobic, and we stay in indoor cabins all the time .. we just don't spend a lot of time in the cabin

Only slight hesitation I have on being really far aft is motion sickness - for Jeremy, not for me. I'm good in cars, planes, boats, roller coasters - no issues. J does fine on everything but roller coasters, and he does not like riding backwards on trains, buses, etc.

We'll be loaded up with everything as precautionary measures - ginger pills, candied ginger, Bonine and probably a prescription for the patch to take with us just in case it's needed! :thumbsup2

Although we haven't done a TA crossing before, we always stay aft (we are a few doors down from you) and never had problems with sea sickness, the only time we've felt queasy at all has been in the Walt Disney Theater. Because we don't want to waste a single minute feeling sick, we take the once a day bonine just before going to bed. By the time we wake up we've slept off any tiredness from taking the pills, and go through our days without a thought to motion. :dance3:

Thanks hun. I just have that horrible feeling that somethings not right with him and I had the same feeling last year when it all started. :sad2:

Oh, I'm so sorry! I hate it when my "kids" are sick. George, my ancient Lab-Mastiff, is having major problems with his back legs. We know he's been developing arthritis, but it just got bad in the last few weeks. I've been dosing him with buffered aspirin and it seems to be helping him. He's due for his shots, so I need to ask the vet about other treatment possibilities for him. All his internal organs are functioning near 100% (unusual for such a big, old dog), so we're just going to work on managing the pain for now.

We'll keep our fingers and paws crossed for good results for you and your baby next week! :dog2: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

Time to think about Lanyards and Pins
I want to be sure that everyone who wants a pin or lanyard has PM'd me. I have put information about pins and lanyards below. I will continue to take orders for pins until mid June. I would like to get the lanyards and pins on order at that time.

I will order a few extra lanyards but only those who have ordered pins will be able to get them after the cutoff date.

Anyone who would like to join the lanyard sponsorship team should also PM me if they have not do so.

If you want pins or lanyards, please be sure to PM me if you have not done so already.

Details about pins and lanyards are below. You can also PM with any questions.

Lanyards and pins

Because so many people have asked about lanyards and pins what did they look like last year, I decided to post a picture. Our lanyards this year will be wider and have a water resistant pouch.

I will be making up lanyards with waterproof holders for all the DIS members who PM me. The lanyards and badge holders will look like the ones below though I have not decided in what color.

Badge Holders

Here is what last years lanyards and pins (on the card) looked like:

Not sure if this has already been asked .. but what will the pins for this year look like? Is that a menu in the background with the lanyard?

Karen, I'm interested in doing FE, are you the person I sign up with?

Nope, that would be me! :wave2: Here's what you need to PM me: your Disname, names of everyone in the room who are participating (and relationship to you - DH, DD, etc), ages of children, and your room number (if known). Also, please let me know if you have any favorite colors, as I'm making my FE gifts and would like to tailor them as much as possible. Goofyslonglostsis would like your color info, too.

It will be the Spain to Space mountain design you have in your post.

Yes, that was a picture that Kimberly posted of one of our menus!

That sounds good to me. I assume we'll be assigned our "giftee" then?

yeah cut off will be mid august and i'll send you your giftee then :)

The only time I can't find something is when he's moved it - usually to the wrong pile.

Just made the final payment. I moved us to 7034 and saved over $800. No reason for us to have the extra 36 square feet as long as we have a veranda!
