Ditto... I didn really see the dress code in my cruise docs and not sure what I should wear. And more importantly how to dress 2 year old boys. Are they supposed to wear pants each night??

Technically yes. That said, toddlers and preschoolers often where dressy shorts and I really think it looks appropriate on little ones.
When Rio was that age, I usually got him two pair of dark slacks and out them on him just for dinner and he could rewear them throughout the week ( dark shows fewer spills and I could always run a load of laundry if I had to (I don't think I ever did).

Generally the men in my family will wear slacks and a button from shirt to the nicer restaurant and that or possibly a polo style shirt to the mor casual enchanted gardens or animators and Marika and I will wear sundresses or nicer capris.

This is on the cruiseline website.

On 7-night cruises:

First night: cruise casual—no shorts, swimwear or tank tops
Three additional "cruise casual" nights—no shorts, swimwear or tank tops
One pirate or tropical night (deck party)
One formal and one semi-formal night—formal wear for men: tuxedo or suit; for women: gown or dress; semi-formal wear for men: suit/jacket; for women: dress or pantsuit.

Packing Tips

What to Pack for a Disney Cruise

You'll want to dress comfortably aboard your Disney cruise (it is a vacation, after all) and also bring appropriate attire for onboard activities including dinner, Port Adventures and on-shore excursions you may take on your own. Here are items you may want to include in your luggage.

The Basics

Pack these items in a day bag to keep handy when checking in or embarking (your luggage may not arrive at your stateroom until a few hours after boarding):

Medications (in their original containers)
Passport and travel documentation
Camera and accessories (batteries, film, etc.)
Extra glasses or contact lenses
Bathing suit
Sunscreen
Reading material
CARIBBEAN AND BAHAMIAN CRUISES

Attire and Accessories

Bathing suit
Bathing suit cover up
Swim diapers
Sunscreen
Sunglasses, a hat and other protective wear
T-shirts
Shorts
Lightweight pants
Jeans
Sundresses
Sandals or sneakers (comfortable shoes for Port Adventures)

Jeans are now considered appropriate for dinner. I usually wear colored ones with a nice button shirt. Capris are also acceptable. You will see a lot of people in shorts even though it says no shorts. Disney will never refuse anyone wearing shorts. Some people do not like to dress up. I think on formal night and semi-formal night people should dress appropriately or go to Cabanas.

My husband announced at dinner that he has a few extra days of vacation that are not scheduled. He asked if I'd like to take a cruise! In less than three hours I booked this cruise, the air fare, and a Pre-flight hotel!

He's a great husband, and we'll be celebrating his birthday a little early. Please don't tell him, I haven't told him - I'm going to surprise him.

We have early, we had late on our first cruise and it was hard. We are not late people.

I'm glad you have what you prefer this time :goodvibes

Dine and Play is such a great idea. They did not have that when mine were little.
Maybe we'll be in the same rotation and be able to see you at dinner:wave2:

we like late because we like to see the show first and be able to talk about it over dinner:goodvibes

When do we find out our dining rotation?

We will be sailing without children on this cruise. Will we be "odd ducks"?

We haven't sailed with Disney since the Magic and Wonder first set sail. What are the things we should not miss? I know the FE gift exchange and decorating doors is new, but anything else we should prepare for?

Is there one night in the dining rotation that would work out the best for reservations in Paolo or Remy? Aware either of these available for lunch?

I'm very excited - I'm a huge Disney fan.

early or late will be listed right on your reservation. the specific rotation within that will be notated on your Key Card when you check in at port--you can't really find that out before hand

I don't think so. I know many people who sail without kids. My best friend and his husband and several other friends are among them.

I answered what I could in purple above :goodvibes I don't really have a do not miss list--everyone is so different (plus this is a new ship for me too;)).

So far as am aware, neither Remy nor Palo does lunch (but they do have brunch). As far as when to go, that really depends on what you most care about seeing onboard and what you are okay with missing. Generally the easiest night to get a reservation is the first night we sail.

I just called and asked what movies will be showing. With the caveat of this is always subject to change, here is what they said:

Toy Story 3 in 3D
Tangled in 3D
Cars 2 in 3D
The Help
People Like Us
The Odd life of Timothy Green
The Muppets
Warhorse
Brave in 3D
Chimpanzee

I always think I will watch some movies on board and then never make the time to, but there are a few I would like to see and have not. I'll have to try to get to at least one of them :goodvibes

We are late seating..... I have always loved it and love kiddos going off to play after they eat with the safety of counselors and we can continue to sit and chat!!!

Thanks for calling and finding this out! There's a few of these movies that I'd like to see.

Also, we have the early dining. I've done the late dining a few times. But I really prefer early dining.

We have early seating. My DH didn't want to wait until the late seating even though we normally eat anywhere from 6:30 - 8 at home. :confused3

I hope to see a couple movies onboard but doubt that I will find the time. ;)

Our last two cruises we felt like from 2:30 / 3:00 o clock on we were rushing to get dressed/showered etc. Too stressful for vacation - so this time we are trying out the late dinner to see if it feels any better this way. I worry a bit about our son - as he is usually an early to bed kind of guy. He was up until 10 every night on our last cruise though so I suppose he will adjust

Thanks Hadley for finding out about those movies....there are a few on that list that I have not seen and would love to see. Hope I can find the time.

I have early seating. I don't know the configurations of the restaurants, but I'm hoping at least one has windows. I'd like a table near the windows if I have early seating. As skip the shows, I can go to the pool after dinner when it will be quiet as most are at dinner, a show or shopping.

Also, I travel solo so it doesn't really matter what time I eat as I only have to get myself ready.

Basically know what I'll wear for dinner. Still working out the daytime - just shorts or throw in a couple skirts. :confused3

Can't believe it is almost time. I'm soooo excited. pixiedust:
