So, who has early and who has late dining? We have late :)

We have early this time. We had late last time, and it was just toooooo late. And we're late-night people! Sometimes we got out of dinner close to 10 and I didn't know about Dine n Play. This time we'll try something new and see how it goes.

We don't do shows much, so we are looking forward to having time to go to the pool after dinner :cool1:

My husband announced at dinner that he has a few extra days of vacation that are not scheduled. He asked if I'd like to take a cruise! In less than three hours I booked this cruise, the air fare, and a Pre-flight hotel!

He's a great husband, and we'll be celebrating his birthday a little early. Please don't tell him, I haven't told him - I'm going to surprise him.

Welcome.... I am sure you both will have a great time... This our first Disney Cruise!

This is on the cruiseline website.

On 7-night cruises:

First night: cruise casual—no shorts, swimwear or tank tops
Three additional "cruise casual" nights—no shorts, swimwear or tank tops
One pirate or tropical night (deck party)
One formal and one semi-formal night—formal wear for men: tuxedo or suit; for women: gown or dress; semi-formal wear for men: suit/jacket; for women: dress or pantsuit.

Packing Tips

What to Pack for a Disney Cruise

You'll want to dress comfortably aboard your Disney cruise (it is a vacation, after all) and also bring appropriate attire for onboard activities including dinner, Port Adventures and on-shore excursions you may take on your own. Here are items you may want to include in your luggage.

The Basics

Pack these items in a day bag to keep handy when checking in or embarking (your luggage may not arrive at your stateroom until a few hours after boarding):

Medications (in their original containers)
Passport and travel documentation
Camera and accessories (batteries, film, etc.)
Extra glasses or contact lenses
Bathing suit
Sunscreen
Reading material
CARIBBEAN AND BAHAMIAN CRUISES

Attire and Accessories

Bathing suit
Bathing suit cover up
Swim diapers
Sunscreen
Sunglasses, a hat and other protective wear
T-shirts
Shorts
Lightweight pants
Jeans
Sundresses
Sandals or sneakers (comfortable shoes for Port Adventures)

Jeans are now considered appropriate for dinner. I usually wear colored ones with a nice button shirt. Capris are also acceptable. You will see a lot of people in shorts even though it says no shorts. Disney will never refuse anyone wearing shorts. Some people do not like to dress up. I think on formal night and semi-formal night people should dress appropriately or go to Cabanas.

Thanks!! We have suits for boys for dress up nights.

We have early. I love late, but not with toddlers.

Thanks for calling and finding this out! There's a few of these movies that I'd like to see.

Also, we have the early dining. I've done the late dining a few times. But I really prefer early dining.

I really wanted to see chimpanzee in theaters but all the reviews said it was such a tear jerker!

Went online and purchased tix for the Turtle Farm in GC ... I was worried about not having enough time, but it is so much cheaper buying direct so, What the heck right :)

So chilly here today. Can't wait to be in Florida in two weeks!

We saw it on our last cruise (and the one before that) and enjoyed it both times. It is sad but also funny. It is no sadder than Bambi or Lion King. Worth watching so go and just take a Kleenex.

I'm also impressed with your ability to book everything so quickly!! It took me a lot longer to decide to take this cruise!!

Welcome!! :cheer2:

Plenty of time to enjoy the place! Make sure you see the baby turtles when you first go in before it gets crowded...

I would have loved to be part of the FE group, but I won't have time to make anything for gifts and our FE is not complete.

Welcome!! :cheer2:
thanks for the invite to the FE group and welcome.

Do you know if they offer a money back guarantee if the ship does not make it to the Island because of weather? Last time we did the Western Caribbean the weather was too bad to go there and another time we went there but it was raining and by the time we got to the shore we were soaked. Disney gave us our money back since the weather was so bad.

I'm guessing no, because they don't control the weather BUT I have insurance.

Me too....I always buy travel insurance when I travel during hurricane season and during the winter. After having to put out $$$ a few years ago to extend our WDW vacation due to a hurricane. Adding on extra nights and changing flights was a nightmare and expensive! So, lesson learned.

I was thinking last night the last time I chatted regularly with a group like this was on the weddings board and as each bride counted down and left the board (and returned) it was to/from her own adventure. Rarely was anyone sharing in each others adventure. And we would all await a trip report to see how it all came out. But now as folks countdown and depart it will be for all of us to come together or at least in some way share a similar adventure. Pretty cool! I assume some of you are leaving quite soon!!!!

Anyone with a VGT get a room yet?? One of our cabins is anxiously awaiting assignment.

Your vgt should come any day now. Last cruise we went on it was around 14-15 days out.
